- Do not operate appliance before reading and understanding operating instructions. Failure to operate appliance according to operating instructions could cause fi re or injury.
- Do not install damaged, incomplete or substitute components.
- Do not burn wood or other materials in this appliance.
- All electric appliances have hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where a gas line, paint or flammable liquids are present.

- It is imperative that the control compartments, circulating blower and its passageway in the appliance are kept clean. - If equipped with a glass door, do not operate the appliance with the glass door removed, cracked or broken. Replacement of the glass should be done by a licensed or qualifi ed service person. Do not strike or slam shut the appliance glass door.
- Keep the packaging material out of reach of children and dispose of the material in a safe manner. As with all plastic bags, these are not toys and should be kept away from children and infants.
- Servicing should be done only while the appliance is disconnected from the power supply circuit.
- Always unplug appliance when not in use.
- Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug after the appliance malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.

For appliances equipped with a heater:
- Risk of burns. Power to the appliance should be turned off and the appliance allowed to cool before servicing. To disconnect power to the appliance, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
- Young children should be carefully supervised when they are in the same room as the appliance. Toddlers, young children and others may be susceptible to accidental contact burns. A physical barrier is recommended if there are at risk individuals in the house. To restrict access to an appliance or stove, install an adjustable safety gate to keep toddlers, young children and other at risk individuals out of the room and away from hot surfaces.
- Clothing or other flammable material should not be placed on or near the appliance.
- Due to high temperatures, the appliance should be located out of traffi c and away from furniture and draperies.
- Ensure you have incorporated adequate safety measure to protect infants/toddlers from touching hot surfaces.
- Even after the appliance is off, the glass and/or screen will remain hot for an extended period of time.
- Check with your local hearth specialty dealer for safety screens and hearth guards to protect children from hot surfaces. These screens and guards must be fastened to the floor.
- Ensure clearances to combustibles are maintained when building a mantel or shelves above the appliance. Elevated temperatures on the wall or in the air above the appliance can cause melting, discolouration or damage to decorations, a TV or other electronic components.

general instructions
- Prior to plugging your appliance into an electrical outlet, verify that the house circuit breakers for the outlet are on.
- The appliance may emit a slight, harmless odour when fi rst used. This odour is normal and it is caused by the initial heating of internal appliance elements and will not occur again.
- If your appliance does not emit heat when called for, consult the “operation” section of this manual for further information.
- Use with a CSA or UL certifi ed surge protector.
- Do not route the power cord directly underneath the appliance.
This electric appliance meets the construction and safety standards of H.U.D. for application in manufactured homes when installed according to these instructions.
As with most electronic devices, your new electric appliance has been designed to operate at temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 35° C (95°F). During the colder winter months, allow the appliance to reach room temperature before turning it on.
unpacking and testing appliance
Carefully remove the appliance from the box. Prior to installing the
appliance, remove all packaging material and test to make sure the appliance
operates properly by plugging the power supply cord into a conveniently
located 120V, 15 Amp minimum grounded outlet.
note:
The appliance is factory wired for 120 volt power supply. If 240 volt
operation is required (see “240V hard wiring installation” section).

locating appliance
WARNING
- Due to high temperatures, this electric appliance should be located out of traffi c. Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 36” (91.4cm) from the front of the appliance.
- Never locate this electric appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
- Wear safety gloves and safety glasses for protection during installation and maintenance.
- To prevent contact with sagging or loose insulation, the electric appliance must not be installed against vapor barrier or exposed insulation. Localized overheating could occur and a fi re could result.
- Do not expose the electric appliance to the elements (such as rain, etc.).
grounding appliance
- This appliance is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown in (A). An adapter as shown in (C) is available for connecting three-blade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles, as shown in (B).
- The green grounding plug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.
- To disconnect appliance, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
note:
The appliance must be connected to a dedicated 15 amp circuit. The use of an
extension cord is NOT permitted.

framing
- Prepare rough in framing following the recommended dimensions in Figure 1. For the corner rough in framing, follow the recommended dimension in Figure 3.
- Select a location that is not prone to moisture and is located at least 36″ (91.4cm) away from combustible materials such as curtain drapes, furniture, bedding, paper, etc.

- Once the rough opening has been prepared and the power has been routed to the right side of the recess, the appliance may be installed.
- The electrical connection must be made prior to placing the appliance into position (see “hard wiring installation” section). Have 2 people lift the appliance up and insert into the opening of the wall.
- To secure the appliance to the wall, remove the glass door (see “glass door removal and installation” section) and log / grate / ember bed (see “log, grate and ember bed assembly / removal” section).
- Level the appliance and use the 4 screws (supplied) to secure the appliance to the wall studs (Fig. 2).
- Install the brick panels (see “brick panel installation and removal” section), log /grate and ember bed assembly, and the glass door to the appliance.
note:
In order to avoid the possibility of exposed insulation or vapour barrier coming in contact with the appliance body, it is recommended that the walls of the appliance enclosure be “fi nished” (ie. drywall/sheetrock), as you would fi nish any other outside wall of a home. This will ensure that clearance to combustibles is maintained within the cavity.
appliance installation
- Place a cloth (not supplied) onto the mantel (Fig. 1) to prevent the appliance from scratching the mantel surface.
- With 2 people, lift the appliance up and insert into the opening, leave space between the appliance and floor base in order to not scratch the floor surface. Do not push or slide the bottom of the appliance on the floor base (Fig. 1).
- Set the appliance down and into place and remove the cloth (Fig. 2).
voltage selection
This appliance is able to use 120 volt or 240 volt power supply by setting the
voltage selector switch (Fig. 1) and hard wiring confi gurations.
note:
The factory set up confi guration is 120 volt operation with cord plug.
note:
Only a qualifi ed person can change the voltage setting.
voltage selector switch location
WARNING
- The voltage selector switch must match the incoming power supply voltage. The heater will overheat if the switch does not match the incoming power supply voltage.
- When changing the voltage selector switch from 240 volts to 120 volts (or vice versa), the power supply must be turned off fi rst.
The voltage selector switch is located inside the appliance (Fig. 1).
- Remove the glass door (see “glass door removal and installation” section).
- Remove metal cover from the voltage selector switch.
- Change the voltage selector switch position.
note:
Factory default setting is 120 volt (115 printed on the switch) if you use 120 volt power supply you do not need to make the changes.
120 volt cord plug installation
The factory default setting is 120 volt cord plug installation confi guration.
Simply plug the appliance to a grounded 120V 15 Amp outlet box.
note:
Must be connected to a dedicated 15 Amp circuit. The use of an extension cord
is NOT permitted.
120V hard wiring installation
WARNING
Turn off the appliance completely and let cool before servicing. Only a
qualifi ed service person should service and repair this electric appliance.
120V HARD WIRING CONNECTION
If it is necessary to hard wire this appliance, a qualifi ed electrician
must remove the cord connection, and wire the appliance directly to the
household wiring. The wire and power supply breaker must be rated for 120V
minimum 15 Amps.
This appliance must be electrically connected and grounded in accordance with
local codes, if hard wired. In the absence of local codes, use the current CSA
C22.1 CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE in Canada or the current ANSI/NFPA 70 NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE in the United States.
note:
There are 4 wires from the appliance junction: white (neutral), black (power
L1), Red (Power L2) and green (ground) that connect to 120V power supply
(breaker panel).
- Remove the securing screw from the electrical cover plate, located on the right hand side of the appliance.
- Add an electrical box connector and feed the supply wires through the 7/8″ (22mm) knock out.
- Separate the black, white, red and green wires that have the wire nuts on them.
- Remove the wire nuts and secure the black wire (L1) to the black (L1) lead of the power supply. Connect the white wire and red wire from the appliance to the white (N) wire from the power supply. Connect the green wire to the ground wire.
- Resecure the cover plate.
- Locate the voltage selector switch inside the appliance and remove the 2 screws on the metal cover.
- Ensure that the switch is switched to 120 volt position (115 is printed on the switch). Reinstall the metal cover.
note:
Leave enough wire so that the appliance can be removed from the enclosure
without disconnecting the power supply.
240V hard wiring installation
WARNING
Turn off the appliance completely and let cool before servicing. Only a qualifi
ed service person should service and repair this electric appliance.
240V HARD WIRING CONNECTION
If it is necessary to hard wire this appliance, a qualifi ed electrician must
remove the cord connection, and wire the appliance directly to the household
wiring. The wire and double-pole power supply breaker must rated for 240V
minimum 15 Amps, maximum 20 Amps.
This appliance must be electrically connected and grounded in accordance with
local codes, if hard wired. In the absence of local codes, use the current CSA
C22.1 CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE in Canada or the current ANSI/NFPA 70 NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE in the United States.
note:

- Ensure that the switch is switched to 240 volt position (230 is printed on the switch). Reinstall the metal cover.
note:
To aid with moving the appliance, leave enough wire so that the appliance can
be removed from the enclosure without disconnecting the power supply. If
servicing, shut off power supply.
operating instructions
Once the appliance has been plugged into a grounded electrical outlet or hard
wired to a dedicated 120V or 240V power supply, it is ready to operate.
note:
Ensure the house circuit breakers for the power supply are turned on.
operating control panel
The Control Panel is located on the top front of the appliance.
operating by remote control
WARNING
- To avoid danger of suffocation, keep the packaging bag away from babies and children.
- Do not use in cribs, beds, carriages, or play pens.
- This bag is not a toy.
- Knot before throwing away.
note:
When operating the remote control, it must be directed towards the front
center of the appliance.
- The power button can be used to turn the appliance on/off. Pressing this button activates the power to the appliance. Pressing the power button again will turn off the appliance. The ember and log will fade 4 seconds after turning off the appliance.
- To adjust the flame brightness and ember log light, press the flame button . There is 1 ember log light and 3 flame brightness levels to cycle through and then an off setting ( LL, F1, F2, F3 and then F0).F3 is the brightest flame level, LL is the ember log light only.
- To control the thermostat function, press the thermostat button . There are 7 temperature settings (61°F, 64°F, 70°F, 75°F, 81°F 85°F and off). The default setting will display Fahrenheit. Press the thermostat button to cycle through the settings. Once you have selected the desired temperature, the heater will automatically operate until that temperature is reached. When the room temperature is 2 degrees lower than the temperature setting, the heater will turn on.
- To activate the heater and blower, press the heater button , the blower will turn on. Press the heater button again to turn on the heater and blower. Press the heater button again to turn off the heater and blower.
- The timer controls all operating modes of the appliance. To activate the timer, press the timer button . To choose the desired time, continue to press the timer button. There are 8 settings (30mins,1h, 2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 6h and off). The appliance will turn off at the setting time.
- To activate the decoration light, press the light button .There are 3 settings to cycle through and then an off setting (d1, d2, d3 and then d0). d1 white colour, d2 colour cycles from White / Orange / Blue / Orange-Blue / White-Orange / White-Blue. It will take 8.5 seconds to switch from 1 colour to the next when in d2 setting and d3 will lock to a desired colour.
- To turn off the appliance, press the power button once on the remote, or press the power button once on the control panel on the appliance.
finishing
WARNING
- Power supply service must be completed prior to fi nishing to avoid reconstruction.
- Heat vents and air openings cannot be covered in any circumstances.
brick panel installation and removal
- Slide the panels into place and secure it using the 2 screws (supplied).
- Ensure the brick panels are positioned properly in the appliance and are not angled or sticking out from the appliance.
- To remove the panels, remove the 2 screws.
glass door removal and installation
WARNING
- Glass may be hot. Do not touch glass until cooled.
- If equipped with door latches that are part of a safety system, they must be properly engaged. Do not operate the appliance with latches disengaged.
- Facing and/or fi nishing materials must not interfere with air flow through air openings, louvre openings, operation of louvres, or doors/access for service. Observe all clearances when applying combustible materials.
- Before door is removed, turn the appliance off and wait until appliance is cool to the touch. Doors are heavy and fragile so handle with care.

To install the glass door, simply place the door on the holding pins on the bottom frame of the appliance. Install the screw into the safety catch wire, slightly push the glass door into the frame and latch it secure with the 2 top latches.

To remove the glass door, swing the top 2 latches to release the door. The door will hang slightly on the the safety catch wire.
note:
Pushing in on the door will make the latch swing easier. -
Place 1 hand on the glass door while removing the screw from the catch wire. Allow the door to pivot slightly, hold the sides with both hands while lifting the door out of the appliance.
note:
The above is llustrated with latches visible.
maintenance
WARNING
- In preparation for maintenance, always disconnect the power and allow the electric appliance to cool before performing any cleaning, maintenance, or relocation of this electric appliance.
- Turn controls to OFF and remove plug from outlet or turn off the house circuit breaker to electric appliance receptable.
- Do not install replacement LED lights that exceed specifi ed maximum watts.

note:
Only a qualifi ed service technician or service agency should service this
electric appliance.
log, grate and ember bed assembly / removal
- Cut zip-ties securing log assembly to appliance and remove the card board holding the logs, grate and ember bed assembly to the appliance.
- Pinch the back of the assembly and lift it up from the appliance.
flame panel removal
- Remove the 4 screws securing the top bracket.
- Remove the 2 screws securing the left bracket. Repeat for the right side.
- Lift up and remove the panel.
flame board removal
- Remove the 3 screws on the bottom and 4 screws on top of the flame board.
- Lift the flame board out of the appliance.
motor replacement
- To access the 2 screws holding the motor, remove the reflector. Pull the reflector out from the adaptor to release the reflector and pull the adaptor from the motor.
- Unplug the quick connect motor wire from the wire harness.
- Remove the 2 screws holding the motor and take the motor out of the appliance.
control board replacement
- To prevent stripping of the plastic plugs on the back of the control board, hold the plugs with pliers while removing each of the 4 screws.
- Unplug all the wires connected on the control board.
remote battery installation
WARNING
- This remote control requires button batteries that are hazardous to young children.
- WARNING – KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN!
- Swallowing may lead to serious injury in as little as 2 hours or death, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.
- If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button battery, immediately seek urgent medical assistance.
- Examine devices and make sure the battery compartment is correctly secured (that the screw or other mechanical fastener is tightened). Do not use if compartment is not secure.
- Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely. Flat batteries can still be dangerous.
- Tell others about the risk associated with button batteries and how to keep their children safe.
- To replace the existing battery, remove the battery holder.
- To remove the battery holder, turn remote onto front side and press the left side leaver towards the center while pulling the battery holder out using the slot provided.
- Replace existing battery, type CR 2025, with a new battery and reinstall the battery holder into the remote by sliding it into position.
- Battery holder is secure into the remote control when a clicking noise is heard.

- Contact your dealer for questions concerning prices and policies on replacement parts. Normally, all parts can be ordered through your Authorized dealer / distributor.
- For warranty replacement parts, a photocopy of the original invoice will be required to honour the claim.
- When ordering replacement parts always give the following information:
- Model & Serial Number of appliance
- Installation date of appliance
- Part number
- Description of part
- Finish
- Parts, part numbers, and availability are subject to change without notice.
- Parts identifi ed as stocked will be delivered within 2 to 5 business days for most delivery destinations.
- Parts not identifi ed as stocked will be delivered within a 2 to 4 week period, for most cases. Parts identifi ed as ‘SO’ are special order and can take up to 90 days for delivery.

Napoleon electric appliances are manufactured under the strict Standard of the
world recognized ISO 9001 : 2015 Quality Management System.
Napoleon products are designed with superior components and materials and
assembled by trained craftsmen who take great pride in their work. Once
assembled, the complete appliance is thoroughly inspected by a qualifi ed and
authorized installer, service agency, or supplier before packing to ensure
that you, the customer, receive the quality product that you expect from
Napoleon.
Napoleon Electric Appliance Premium Warranty
- Electrical components and wearable parts are covered and Napoleon will provide replacement parts free of charge during the fi rst 2 years of premium warranty. This covers: fan/heaters, motors, switches, nylon bearing components, remote controls, and LED lights.*
- Light bulbs and fuses are NOT covered by the warranty.
- In the fi rst year only, any labour related to warranty repair is covered.

- Construction of models vary. Warranty applies only to components included with your specifi c appliance.
Conditions and Limitations
- Napoleon warrants its products against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser only. Registering your warranty is not necessary. Simply provide your proof of purchase along with the model and serial number to make a warranty claim.
- Provided that the purchase was made through an authorized Napoleon dealer, your appliance is subject to the following conditions and limitations:
- Warranty coverage begins on the date of original installation.
- This factory warranty is non-transferable and may not be extended whatsoever by any of our representatives.
- Installation must be done in accordance with the installation instructions included with the product and all local and national building and fi re codes.
- This premium warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, accident, alterations, abuse, or neglect and parts installed from other manufacturers will nullify this warranty.
- This premium warranty further does not cover any scratches, dents, corrosion, or discolouring caused by excessive heat, abrasive and chemical cleaners, nor chipping on porcelain enamel parts, mechanical breakage of PHAZER™ logs.
- In the fi rst 2 years only, this warranty extends to the repair or replacement of warranted parts which are defective in material or workmanship, provided that the product has been operated in accordance with the operation instructions and under normal conditions.
- After the fi rst year, Napoleon will not be responsible for installation, labour, or any other expenses related to the reinstallation of a warranted part, and such expenses are not covered by this warranty. Notwithstanding any provisions contained in the Premium Warranty, Napoleon responsibility under this warranty is defi ned as above, and it shall not in any event extend to any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages.
- This warranty defi nes the obligations and liability of Napoleon with respect to the Napoleon electric appliance and any other warranties expressed or implied with respect to this product; its components or accessories are excluded.
- Napoleon neither assumes, nor authorizes any third party to assume, on its behalf, any other liabilities with respect to the sale of this product.
- Any damages to appliance, brass trim or other component due to water, weather damage, long periods of dampness, condensation, damaging chemicals, or cleaners will not be the responsibility of Napoleon. Napoleon reserves the right to have its representative inspect any product or part thereof prior to honouring any warranty claim.
- All parts replaced under the Premium Warranty Policy are subject to a single claim.
- All parts replaced under the warranty will be covered for a period of 90 days from the date of their installation.
- The manufacturer may require that defective parts or products be returned or that digital pictures be provided to support the claim. Returned products are to be shipped prepaid to the manufacturer for investigation. If a product is found to be defective, the manufacturer will repair or replace such defect.
- Before shipping your appliance or defective components, your dealer must obtain an authorization number. Any merchandise shipped without authorization will be refused and returned to sender.
- Shipping costs are not covered under this warranty.
- Additional service fees may apply if you are seeking warranty service from a dealer.
