What’s inside your starter kit

Modem box
The modem brings Internet service to your home.

1 cable modem
1 power supply adapter
(+1 ethernet cable for a direct connection to your devices. )

eero Wi-Fi router box
The router distributes the signal to your wired and wireless devices.

1 eero router (if applicable)
1 power supply adapter
1 ethernet cable

Two more things you’ll need:

  1. 10-15 minutes
And then you’re all set for affordable Internet!

  2. 1 coaxial cable
You likely already have one. If not, they’re available for purchase at most electronics stores. The length you need will depend on the distance between your outlet and modem.

The best place for your modem and router(s)

✔ Replacing another modem? You may be able to use the same coaxial cable/outlet.
✔ Place your modem and (primary) router in a central location near a coaxial cable.
✔ Make sure your router is upright, ideally raised on a shelf or table.
✔ If you have more than 1 router, try and keep a direct line of sight between them.

❌ Don’t hide your router behind or inside an object/furniture this could cause interference or lower your Wi-Fi signal strength.
❌ Avoid putting your router(s) near thick walls. Try to place equipment near open doorways for an unobstructed signal passage to the rest of your home.

How to connect your Freedom Home Internet

  1. If your home has an existing Wi-Fi network, take note of your Network Name (SSID) and password. You’ll need this information to complete Step 7.

  2. Download the eero app
for iOS or Android – it’s essential for Step 6.

  3. Unplug your current modem and/or router(s), if applicable.

  4. Connect your coaxial cable to the modem. Your home may be outfitted with a coax outlet or the coaxial cable might come directly through the wall.Freedom Home Internet and TV User Guide - Connect your coaxial cable to the modem

  5. Connect the provided power supply adapter to the modem only.

  6. Open the eero app. Select New to eero and create an eero account through Amazon or using your email address or phone number. If you’ve already got an eero account, sign in.

  7. Follow the instructions provided in the eero app to set up your Wi-Fi router(s).

  8. Hooray! It’s time to plug the modem’s power supply adapter into an electrical outlet. Within five minutes, you’ll be good to go.

The instructions above are applicable to customers with the cable modem and eero router.
