Thank you for purchasing the Mobile Patient Lift Freedom Transfer Lift! We aim to provide the safest and most adaptable mobility equipment on the market. Please read this manual in its entirety before operating or maintaining this product.
CAUTION Improper usage of this device can cause injury to the rider or operator. The Freedom Patient Transfer Lift must only be operated as described in this manual. Do not modify the Freedom Patient Transfer Lift as modifications can result in unpredictable performance and result in injury to the rider or operator.

Indications for Use

The Mobile Patient lift Freedom Transfer Lift is a transfer device that transports the rider in a seated, upright position in a safe and efficient manner. The Freedom Patient Transfer Lift is capable of moving adult, adolescent, or child occupants who are able to remain seated while secured by the safety belt.
WARNING DO NOT use this lift to transport occupants who may have cervical, spinal, or fracture injuries.

General Description / Intended Use

The Mobile Patient lift Freedom Transfer Lift is intended as a transfer device for a human occupant in a seated position. The occupant should be secured in the lift by restraints for their safety and the safety of the operator. The operator must read this manual and be properly trained on this product before use.

Safety Precautions
  1. Read this entire user manual before using the Mobile Patient lift Freedom Transfer Lift, and use the Freedom Patient Transfer Lift only as described in this manual.
  2. When users get in or out of the transfer lift, they must ensure that the wheels are locked.
  3. Avoid getting dirt inside the wheels.
  4. Do not attach any additional items to this lift unless certified by Mobile Patient lift.
  5. Do not use the transfer lift in any shower/bathing situations, or any situation in which the Freedom Patient Lift may be exposed to water.
  6.  Do not attempt to transport occupant loads greater than what you can safely push.
  7. Do not use both the remote and the hand controls at the same time.
  8. Always lock and buckle the back of the lift when transferring a patient.
  9. Use only parts that are specifically made for this Patient lift. If replacement parts are needed, please contact Mobile Patient lift for assistance.
  10. Maintain and operate the Freedom Patient Transfer Lift only as described in this manual. Mobile Patient lift can be reached for all service, maintenance and questions regarding this Lift and its operation.
  11. Please adjust to a suitable height before use, and ensure that the seat plates on both sides remain at the same height.
  12. When adjusting the height of the seat, please do it in the stationary state of the transfer lift.
  13. The brakes of the four wheels of the transfer lift are only used for braking when parked, not a braking device, and should not be used for deceleration and braking during travel.
  14. Do not use the transfer lift when charging, otherwise there will be a risk of electric shock.

IMPORTANT
Mobile Patient Lift Freedom Transfer Lift users should practice using the Freedom Patient Transfer Lift without anyone or anything in it, and then practice using the lift with a load, and then practice with a person.

  • WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL
    In addition to the controls on the lift, a removable wireless remote control is also provided.

    A removeable and washable commode pail may be attached beneath the seat when a toilet is unavailable.

Assembling the Mobile Patient Lift Freedom Transfer Chair

  • STEP 1
    Pull the components of the lift out of the box. The main components will consist of the frame and the left and right seat halves.

  • STEP 2
    A. Remove the two lock-ing pins that hold the rear wheels vertical.
    B. Lower these wheels, and replace the locking pins to keep them locked in the lowered position.

  • STEP 3
    Identify the left and right sides of the lift seat by ensuring the cut-out in the middle of the seats are together.

  • STEP 4
    Take one seat side and, while pressing the black button on top of the seat side, line up the two matching holes on the frame with the seat and slide down. Repeat on second side.

  • STEP 5
    Once the seat is attached to the frame, close the two seats together and lock by using the secure locking clasp and seatbelt connector.

  • STEP 6
    Begin charging your device connecting the battery charger to the charger port on the inside of the footrest.

  • Commode Pail Assembly
    To use the commode pail, attach the holder by inserting it into the two designated holder mounts located on the inside of each leg. Once attached, slide the commode pail onto the holder.

Operation Details

  • STEP 1
    Ensure the device is charged before use. Charging port and Power button are located behind the footrest

  • STEP 2
    Once the patient is sitting up, unlock the back of the lift, and slide the device towards them. Then, lock the wheels and adjust to the correct height.

  • STEP 3
    Carefully bring in one side of the lift at a time, positioning the seat piece under the patient. Repeat with second side. Optional: Seat cushion may be placed under the patient prior.

  • STEP 4
    Fasten the rear locks and the lap belt.

  • STEP 5
    Portable commode may now by attached by inserting the wire frame into the lift and sliding the bin in.

  • STEP 6
    Unlock the wheels, and use the handles to navigate your patient to the desired location. Remote or hand controls can be used to adjust the height.

Care and Cleaning Instructions

  • To clean the lift, apply a neutral synthetic detergent, wipe with a damp cloth, and then wipe with a dry cloth. Dry completely before use.
  • Do not scratch or scrape the surface of the product with hard objects to prevent material damage.
  • Do not use products that have bleach or phenolic cleaners.
  • Avoid over-saturation or leaving the lift wet for any amount of time.
  • Regularly check whether there are loose nuts and screws, damaged or broken parts, and if necessary, replace the damaged parts.
  • In a medical setting, we recommend you disinfect the lift between riders with basic disinfectant for patient and operator safety.

Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Solution
There is no response when the remote is used. The remote is low on power.

Replace the batteries within the remote control.
Continuous beeping from bottom of the transfer lift.| Low battery alarm.| Charge the device with the provided charger.
Not able to steer the lift while pushing.| A brake may be enabled.| Ensure all brakes are released.

FAQs

Can the rider operate the Mobile Patient Lift Freedom Transfer Lift alone?
No, the rider may only use the hand controls to control the height of the device.

Can the Lift be used in more than one location?
Yes, the lift may be used in a variety of locations, as well as used to transfer easily to other lifts/beds/or other medical devices. Additionally, it can easily detach and fold up to fit in most car trunks, and it is meant to be transported wherever it is needed!

Can the Lift be used in the shower?
No, Freedom Patient Transfer Lift is not waterproof and therefore should not be purposefully exposed to water.

Warranty

What does this Limited Warranty cover?
This Limited Warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the Warranty Period. During the Warranty Period, Climbing Steps, Inc will repair or replace, at no charge, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.

What will we do to correct problems?
Climbing Steps, Inc will either repair or replace the Product at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts or products.

How long does the coverage last?
The Warranty Period for products purchased from Climbing Steps, Inc is Lifetime on the Frame Welds and 180 days on all parts from the date of purchase. A replacement product or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or 180 days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer.

What does this Limited Warranty not cover?
This Limited Warranty does not cover any problem that is caused by:

  • Conditions, malfunctions, misuse, accidents, physical damage, modifications, or damage not resulting from defects in material or workmanship.

Indications for Use: The Mobile Patent lit Freedom Transfer Chair is a device intended to transfer an occupant. The transfer chair transports the body in a seated, upright position to and from desired locations. The chair holds adult, adolescent, or child occupants who can remain seated in the chair while secured by the parent restraints. The transfer chair is additionally used for home use with proper training. This device can also be used in hospital environment and emergency medical service and for medical first responders. The front and rear wheels also allows the operator to transport the occupant on flat surfaces. Device is not waterproof, do not preform any shower or bathing activities with this chair.
