Replacing the Heating Element

  • Please use the following item numbers when ordering parts.

    • Illustration: w/3 wired cord
    • *Specifications subject to change without notice.

Disassemble the Soldering Iron

  1. Remove the Nut (A), Tip Enclosure (B), Tip (C), and Element Support Pipe (D) in this order.
  2. Unscrew the 3 screws and remove the Flange (E).
  3. Push power cord in the direction of the Tip and remove the Terminal (H) from the Handle (J).
  4. Remove the Terminal Fixed Spring (F) from the Heating Element. [w/3 wired cord; detach the Terminal Fixed Spring from the D-sleeve (0).]

Replace the Heating Element

  1. Pull the Heating Element (G) off from the Terminal (H).
  2. Insert a new Heating Element into the Terminal. Be sure the Heating Element Terminal is correctly inserted into the terminal holes. Do not use excessive force; if the Heating Element is difficult to insert, remove the Heating Element and try inserting it again.

Reassemble the Soldering Iron

  1. Slide the Terminal Fixed Spring (F) onto the Heating Element (G). [w/3 wired cord: insert the Terminal Fixed Spring into the D-sleeve (1).]
  2. Insert the Terminal (H) into the Handle (J).
  3. Slide the Flange (E) onto the Heating Element and attach it to the Handle with the screws.
  4. Reattach the Element Support Pipe (D), Tip (C), Tip Enclosure (B) and Nut (A) in this order.

Caution

  1. Do not strike the soldering iron against the workbench or with any tool. The ceramic heating element may be damaged if struck with excessive force.
  2. Tip. Tip Enclosure, Nut and Flange are extremely hot and can cause painful burns or fire. Be careful not to touch them.
