  • Read these Safety Precautions carefully before using the device in order to use it correctly.
  • Use the device sensibly in accordance with the prescribed steps.
  • Immediately discontinue use and arrange to have the device repaired if any abnormality occurs.
  • Do not use the device in a defective state, as doing so could cause a physical harm to the user.
  • The precautions listed in the User’s Manual are very important. For your safety, please follow them carefully.

    • Avoid using the device for 2 weeks after cosmetic medical procedures. After this period, consult with a physician and only use the device if the physician confirms there is no problem (e.g. Hyaluronic acid injections, silicone injections, botox, thread lifts, double eyelid surgery, HIFU, etc.).
  • Do not use the device continuously for an overly long period (for example, through commercial use).

  • Do not leave the device unattended while it is turned on.

  • Do not use if the power cord is damaged.

  • Do not use the device in a dark room. Also, do not look at, or directly into, the irradiation unit. Failure to comply may cause injury to your eyes.

  • Do not tighten with excessive force.
    Failure to comply may cause physical pressure, fatigue, and pain.

  • Do not use this product when asleep.
    Failure to comply may cause injuries or skin problems.

  • Do not disassemble, attempt to repair or modify this device in anyway.

    • Contact your local distributor for an advice on repairing the device.
    • Do not dispose of the device in a fire or place it near fire or flames. Do not use, charge or store in a high-temperature or high-pressure area.
    • The device features a built-in rechargeable battery. Failure to comply may lead to the generation of heat, a fire or explosion.
  • When using the equipment in the bathroom, be sure to disconnect the power plug after use, as it is dangerous to access water even when the equipment is turned off.

  • If the device is dropped or damaged, turn off the power immediately, pull out the plug, and request a repair/inspection.

  • If you feel an earthquake, see lightning or hear thunder, turn off the power and unplug the device.

  • The range of environmental temperature in which the device con be used is from 10 to 40°C. Verify the ambient temperature of the location where the device will be used.

  • The device may not correspond effectively to the ambient temperature of a new location immediately after moving to the new location.

  • Do not apply excessive force onto the mask. Applying excessive force, including bending, pulling or folding the face mask or the neck mask, may damage the product or cause it to malfunction.

  • Do not press the device too hard and do not use it continuously.
    Pressing the device stronger than necessary or using it continuously may damage the skin.

  • Do not allow the device to come into contact with another beauty device or electronic appliance while the power is on.

  • Do not use with other electronic products (electric blankets/bed sheets, heated tables, etc.) at the same time.
    Failure to comply may lead to accidents due to malfunctions.

  • Do not use while driving.
    Failure to comply may cause accidents or injuries.

  • During the treatment, carefully check that your skin is not showing any abnormalities.

  • Stop using the device immediately if you start to feel pain, fatigue or see any skin reaction during use.

  • Stop using the device immediately if the treatment does not agree with your skin. If symptoms persist the following day and beyond, consult a physician.

WARNING (The power supply)

  • Please DO use the device with an operating voltage range from 100 V to 240 V.

  • Make sure the plug is fully inserted into the power outlet.

  • If any problem occurs, turn off the power immediately.

  • Always use the dedicated AC adapter.

Auto Power Off
The device will automatically switch off approx. 10 minutes alter it has been turned on.

Before Use

Charge the Device

  • Fully charge the battery before using the device for the first time after purchasing.
  • When using the device for the first time or when the device has not been used for an extended period of time, it is possible that you will be able to use the device for a short time only, even with a full charge. In such a case, charge the controllers again before using it.
  • Use only the included AC adapter.

Charging| The lamps will turn on in the following order:
SOOTHE FIRM BRIGHT.

When charging is complete| The SOOTHE, FIRM, and BRIGHT lamps all turn on and then turn off alter 5 seconds.
Charging time| Approx. 6 hours
Operating time| Approx. 40 minutes

  • Actual charging time and operating time will differ depending upon the remaining battery level and the charging environment.

How to check battery level

ATTENTION

  • If there is any water droplet on the controllers or charging terminal, make sure to wipe them dry before use. Charging the device with water droplets on the device could cause a failure.
  • When you have not used the device for a long period of time, check to see that it is functioning normally before re-starting use. Failure to comply may cause an accident or a malfunction of the device.

How to Use

When using the device for the first time, always test for compatibility with your skin to prevent skin problems.
If, after using the device for about one minute, you experience no abnormalities on your skin, you can continue using it.

Preparation

  1. Wash your face and apply lotion on the skin
  2. After washing your face to remove makeup, please use your own skin-care products to prepare your skin for treatment.
  3. If your hair is long, we recommend tying it up.
  4. Connect the controller Connect the mask to the controller.
  5. Do not press any button of the controllers when you attach them to the silicone mask.
  6. Make sure the power is switched off when attaching the controllers onto the silicone mask.

ATTENTION

  • Do not use skin-care products which contain oil, such as oil-based serums. It may cause deterioration of the mask.
  • Refrain from irradiation if you are still wearing makeup (far example, foundation cream). Using the device without removing makeup may cause skin problems.

Putting on (neck mask)

  1. Fit the neck mask onto your neck

  2. Ensure that your neck is clean. You can also moisturize your skin with your personal skin care products before use.

  3. Make sure that no hair strands are caught in the mask.

  4. Make sure to attach the cord so that it is facing downward, as shown in the figure above.
    Point
    When wearing the face mask and the neck mask at the same time, we recommend putting on the neck mask first and then the face mask, to prevent the respective cords from getting entangled.

  5. Verify that the mask is firmly attached using a mirror

  6. Lay stopper band [4] on top of stopper band [3] and fasten while making the necessary adjustments for the mask to tightly.

  7. Be careful not to fasten the Stopper band too tight.

  8. Even if the mask does not fit perfectly and appears to be loose, as long as the section with the lit LED is in contact with your skin, you can proceed with the treatment.

ATTENTION
The band is made al stretchable silicone rubber and pulling it too hard when fitting the mask an may cause it ta became too tight around the neck. Adjust the band  that it lightly touches the section with the lit LED.

Putting on (face mask)

  1. Fit the face mask onto your face 

  2. Adjust the mask to positions of your eyes.

  3. Make sure that no hair strands are caught in the mask.
    Point
    When wearing the face mask and the neck mask at the same time, we recommend putting on the neck mask first and then the face mask, to prevent the respective cords from getting entangled.

  4. Verify that the mask is firmly attached using a mirror.

  5. Lay stopper band [2] on top of stopper band [I] and fasten while making the necessary adjustments for the mask to tightly.

  6. Be careful not to fasten the Stopper band too tightly.

  7. Even if the mask does not fit perfectly and appears to be loose, as long as the section with the lit LED section lightly touches the skin, you can proceed with the treatment.
    Point
    If the mask is too large, tying your hair at the back of your head will help keep the face mask in place. If the mask is too small, you con use your hand to hold it in place without having to fasten the band.

Beginning the treatment (face)

  1. Turn on the device
    Long-press the face mode button to light up BRIGHT Mode and start operation.

  2. Select the mode
    Each time you briefly press the face mode button on the controller, the mode changes in the following order: BRIGHT FIRM➔ SOOTHE … YAMAN-YJMF0-1-001E-

  • Infrared rays, invisible to the naked eye, ore emitted together with the red LED.

ATTENTION

  • Refrain from using the device continuously for more than 10 minutes. Failure to comply may cause skin problems.
  • If the light feels too bright during treatment, adjust the fit of the eyecup by changing the position of the mask or how the band is fastened, or continue treatment with your eyes closed. Failure to comply may cause injury to your eyes or skin.

Turn off the device

  • The device will automatically switch off approx. 10 minutes after it has been turned on.
  • If you wish to stop in mid-treatment, long-press the FACE Mode button on the controller to turn off the power.
  • After each use, refer to ‘After Treatment’ (page 18) and remove the remaining sebum, lotion and other particles stuck to the device.
  • Failing to remove them may cause a malfunction of the device or skin problems.

Beginning the treatment (neck)

  1. Turn on the device
    Long-press the NECK Mode button to turn on BRIGHT & FIRM mode and start operation.

  2. Turn off the device

  3. The device will automatically switch off approx. 10 minutes after it has been turned on.

  4. If you wish to stop mid-treatment, long-press the NECK Mode button on the controller to turn off the power.

    • After each use, refer to ‘After Treatment’ (page 18) and remove the remaining sebum, lotion and other particles stuck to the device.
      Failing to remove them may cause a malfunction of the device or skin problems.

After Treatment How To Clean

Wipe face mask, neck mask and controller after each time to keep them clean.

  1. Wipe off any dirt using a well-wrung soft cloth or similar materials.
  2. For stubborn steins, wipe gently with a cloth soaked in a diluted neutral detergent.
  3. Do not leave the device with remaining sebum or lotion on it.
  4. Place the device (face mask and neck mask) on the stand
    To prevent the masks from losing its shape, please store them pieced on the stand provided.
  • When cleaning the device, be sure to turn off the device. Failure to comply may cause an electric shock, short circuit or fire.
  • Do not wash it with water.
  • This device is not waterproof. Doing so may cause a failure of the device.

ATTENTION
Never use alkaline detergent, alcohol, thinner, or nail polish remover to clean the device.

Storage

  • Store in a clean, well-ventilated place out of the reach of children.
  • If you do not plan on using the device for a long time, disconnect the face mask and neck mask cords and the AC adapter from the controller, and unplug the AC adapter from the outlet before storing.
  • Do not leave the device in hot or humid places, such as near flames, in bright sunlight or in a bathroom.
  • When storing, do not fold the mask.

Maintenance and Inspections

  • If you have not used the device for an extended period, inspect it carefully and check that the device works properly and safely before use.
  • If the device is malfunctioning, go to ‘Troubleshooting’ (page 20) and attempt to identify the problem before arranging to have the device repaired. If the problem persists, contact your local distributor.
  • If the device malfunctions or appears damaged, please contact your local distributor.

Troubleshooting
If you perceive any abnormality with the device during use, check to see whether any of the following symptoms are present.

The device does not turn on| •   Press either the face button or neck button for longer than 1 second (pages 15and 17).

•    The device has run out of power. Charge the battery (page 11).
Device only operates for a few minutes even after charging.| •   The device will automatically switch off approx . 10 minutes after it has been turned on .

•   Low battery. Charge the battery (page 11).
•    The battery has expired. Consult the Global After Service ( https://www .ya-man.co.jp/en/support/repair/ ) or your local distributor.
•   The battery does not charge properly. Check that the mode display LED turns on and that charging has started.

  • The mode display LED on the controller flashes during operation.
    Low battery. Charge the battery (page 11).

  • The device does not start charging.

    • Connect the AC adapter to a power outlet (page 11).
    • Attach the AC adapter to the controller body (page 11).
  • An electronic sound can be heard during operation.
    This is a normal operating sound. This is not a malfunction.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the recommended duration and frequency of use?
    Use the device on the same area for about 10 minutes once a day. For the face, select one of the available modes.

    • The device will automatically switch off approx. 10 minutes after it has been turned on.
    • The above information is a guideline only. Please observe your skin condition and use the device accordingly.
    • Check carefully to make sure that there are no skin abnormalities before using the device.
    • Stop using the device immediately if the treatment does not agree with your skin.
  • Can I use the face mask and the neck mask separately?
    They can be used together or separately.

  • Can I use the device continuously?
    We recommend using this device once a day for 10 minutes. If you use the same mask consecutively, leave an interval of at least 30 minutes.

  • Can I use the device in the bathroom?
    This device is not waterproof. Do not use the device in the bathroom.

  • Can I use the device while sleeping?
    Do not use the device while sleeping.

  • Can I use the device on dry skin?
    Yes.

  • Can I use the device over a facial mask?
    No.

  • My skin is experiencing a rash/inflammation/itchiness
    This is caused by heat and light stimulation. If symptoms persist the following day and beyond, consult a physician.

  • I’m concerned about the smell of the mask
    Silicone rubber may sometimes produce a peculiar smell, but this should not be considered a sign of malfunctioning.

  • I feel some discomfort and tiredness
    This is caused by heat and light stimulation. Stop using the device until your foci al discomfort is gone.

  • My teeth hurt when I use the device
    If you ore undergoing dental treatment, the pressure of the mask may cause tooth pain. If you feel discomfort, consult a physician.

  • Can I use the device immediately after sun tanning?
    Using the device after sun tanning or shaving may cause inflammation.
    If skin problems should occur while using the device, stop using the device immediately and consult a physician.

  • Q My skin is experiencing redness
    The pressure from the mask may cause temporary redness. If the redness continues the following day, consult a physician.

  • The mask leaves a mark on my face
    The mask is made of stretchable silicone. Depending on the condition of your skin, the mask may leave a mark. However, there is no need for concern as the mark will disappear with time.

  • Is there a possibility that makeup color will transfer  to the mask?
    Yes, this may occur. Please remove makeup before using the device.
