‘Note: If the two USB ports on the front and rear panels are connected,
the front one will prevail, and the rear one will be disabled, ‘Menu knob with
button: Rotate to switch working mode/menu, short press to confirm, and hold
to return to previous page.
‘Volume knob with button: Rotate to adjust volume, short press to power on/tum

Operation Explained

Power Supply
The Kl9 supports AC and DC power supplies. AC power supply prevails as default a t its first startup and the AC power switch is defaulted to be ON, so the Kl9 can be used after connecting to a power cable. When connecting to a DC power supply, please toggle the AC/DC toggle switch to the DC position, and ensure the output voltage is 15V and output current -
Volume Knob
After being connected to a power supply and Kl9 power on, short press the volume knob to turn off/wake up the screen. Hold the volume knob to tum the Kl9 off, when it is off, press the knob to turn it on. When it is on, rotate the volume knob to adjust the volume. -
Menu Knob

Working mode switching: On the homepage, rotate the menu knob to enter the working mode menu, and keep rotating to successively switch between USB/COAXIAL/OPTICAL/HDMI/HDMI ARC/BLUETOOTH modes. Choosing the targeted mode and short pressing the knob for confirmation, it will switch to the corresponding mode and return to the homepage.
On the working mode switching page, hold the menu knob to return to the homepage. -
Menu setting: On the homepage, hold the menu knob to call up the settings menu, rotate it to switch between different settings, and short press it for confirmation. On the settings menu, hold the menu knob for about 2s or select and press the “Return icon” to return to the previous page.

Working Modes
The Kl9 has 6 working modes.

USB: USB decoding, connect to mobile phones or computers. If the two USB ports on the front and rear panels are connected, the front one will prevail, and the rear one will be disabled. When connecting to a mobile phone, the K19 will not consume its power.
(Note: You would need to install the USB DAC driver when connecting the Kl9 to a Windows computer for USB decoding. Please download the USB DAC driver on our website https://www.fiio.com/Driver_Download and follow relevant instructions to install it For macOS systems, it runs driver-free.) -
COAXIAL: Coaxial decoding, connect to devices with a coaxial output.

OPTICAL: Optical decoding, connect to devices with an optical output.

HDMI: HDMI IN, connect to devices with an HDMI digital audio output. If the HDMI contains video signals, the Kl9 will output these signals through its ARC port to a monitor or other devices.
(Note: The HDMI of the Kl9 only supports PCM decoding, but not multichannel audio and video decoding.) -
HDMI ARC: Connect the ARC port of the K19 to a device that supports ARC output, and audio signals can be passed back to the Kl9 for output.

BLUETOOTH: Bluetooth decoding, connect to devices that support Bluetooth output. When switched to the Bluetooth receiving mode for the first time, the Kl9 will automatically enter the pairing state. At. this time, the screen of the Kl9 will display “Pairing In later uses when entering the Bluetooth receiving mode, the K19 will automatically reconnect to the last-connected device.

(Note: The Bluetooth mode of the Kl9 only supports audio playback, but not voice calls.)
DSP Equalizer Introduction
All working modes of the Kl9 support DSP equalizer, which can be adjusted
through the connected computer or mobile phone. When using the DSP equalizer
on a computer, please use a USB cable to connect the Kl9 through its RS232
port to the computer, and download the DSP equalizer software at
http://www.fiio.com/Driver_Download. When using the DSP equalizer on a
mobile phone, please scan the QR code of the FIIO Control app and download the
corresponding app to use it.
(Note: The DSP equalizer of the Kl9 is only available for headphone and line
outputs, but not optical and coaxial outputs.)
12V Trigger Port Introduction
If two devices both featuring a trigger port are connected, they can
synchronously power on and off. Use a 3.5mm audio cable to connect the Kl9
with the device through their trigger ports. When connected through the Kl9’s
Trigger IN port, the Kl9 can be controlled by the connected device for
powering on and off; when connected through the Kl9’s Trigger OUT port, the
Kl9 can control the connected device for powering on and off.
(Note: The voltage of the Kl9’s trigger ports is 12V. Please ensure the
voltage of the connected device conforms to it.)
How to Install the Base Support
Remove the protective films from the screw positions on the bottom of the Kl9. As shown in the figure, fix the screws to the appropriate screw position to secure the base support, and then use a screwdriver to lock the screws.
Notes and Precautions
- In case of system errors, please try to either turn the Kl9 off and on, or unplug and replug the power cable to restore it to a normal state.
- Please adjust the volume (adjustable volume at line out) to a suitable level before wearing headphones so as to protect your hearing.
- Please do not wear headphones when plugging in or unplugging the headphones in case there may be a sudden impulse noise damaging your hearing.
- Please use this device under an appropriate input voltage.
- The device should be connected to the power outlet with grounding protection.
- Please do not insert headphones into the TRIGGER port. Otherwise, they may be damaged.
- There are high-voltage risks inside the device. Please do not repair or disassemble the product on your own and please keep it away from water.

Master Quality Authenticated
The Kl9 includes MQA technology, which enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. The Kl9 Now Playing screen shows green or blue dot next to MQA logo to indicate that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material. It shows blue dot to indicate it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner.
