Senior Quality Inspector
- Do you get excited about Quality Inspections, working with test and measurement equipment? Do you like to play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of parts, components and equipment for the production of our Indoor Cycling Trainers? Than we are looking for you!
- In this position at Tacx (a Garmin Company), you are part of our Quality Department, assuring supreme quality of our Tacx Smart Cycling Trainers. As a Quality Inspector you inspect incoming materials and finished goods to ensure the conformance of parts and sub-assemblies.
- In this position you will have the opportunity to work with our quality team on inspections of our parts and products, as well with our engineering department on implementing inspections for new parts and products. You will work with our advanced measurement equipment within our production facility in Oegtsgeest. This way you have the chance to identify non-conformances as well opportunities for improving inspection efficiency and implement improved inspection methods.
- What type of inspections are you conducting in this position? Dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of parts, assemblies, and finished Tacx products, using advanced, equipment and tools. Due to the highly technical diversity of our products you will work on a wide range of mechanical and electronical parts, components, Injection molded parts, sub-assemblies and finished products.
What are your main tasks and responsibilities?
- You are capable of using standard inspection tools and equipment including coordinate/optical measuring machine (CMM/OMM) along with best practice inspection methods.
- You interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and perform unit of measure conversions.
- You ensure integrity of inspection records.
- Identify and escalate undesirable or inaccurate measurements or methods that cannot be performed as documented.
- You spot non-conforming material and initiate reports to ensure proper material review and disposition.
- Analyzes Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) to determine effect on inspection activities.
- You apply Lean principles to continuously improve workflows for inspections.
- Mentor junior inspectors on procedures, requirements and inspection techniques as well as any new or revised procedures and methods.
What do we expect from you?
- You hold a Vocational Certificate (MBO) in Mechanics or similar combined with relevant quality inspection working experience.
- Experience in using manual measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometer, depth micrometer, gauges, etc. as well as more advanced equipment like coordinate/optical measuring machines (CMM/OMM).
- Possess a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Must be proficient in math and measurement skills with the demonstrated ability to convert English/Metric units of measure and calculate tolerance limits.
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- You are team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
