Item No: FR30125-FR30124

  1. Find a clear area in which you can work.
  2. Unpack fixture and glass from carton.
  3. Carefully review instructions prior to assembly.

Note: It will be necessary to determine the length of rods you will require to hang your fixture at the desired height. After this has been established, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Secure swivels (X) and reinforcement plate (w) to canopy (L) using hex nuts (Y) and lock washers (Z)
  2. Slip first rod section (B) along wire and thread into top of main fixture body (A).
  3. Slip next section of rod (C) along wire and thread into top of previously installed rod – see Drawing 1.
  4. Continue adding sections of rod until all necessary length have been attached to the fixture.
  5. Fixture can now be mounted to the ceiling by followingmounting instruction sheet providedHinkley-FR30125-Rene-Extra-Large-Drum-Chandelier-FIG-2

SAFETY WARNING: READ WIRING AND GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS (I.S. 18) AND ANY ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONS. TURN POWER SUPPLY OFF DURING INSTALLATION. IF NEW WIRING IS REQUIRED, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN OR LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR CODE REQUIREMENTS.

  1. To begin installation, first thread hex nut (J) onto one end of 1/2 diameter, threaded tube (E), slip supply wires, ground wire and safety cable through threaded tube (E)
  2. Next thread hex nut (D) onto threaded tube (E), slip coupler (B) along wires and thread onto end of threaded tube (E). Exit all wires and cables out the side of coupler (B) Now thread tube (N) (Not provided) into top of coupler (B) and lock into place using the 2 set screws (C).
  3. Now lift fixture and slip tube (N) (Not provided) through hole in junction box and ceiling support, installed by customer, and slip washer over tube (N) (Not provided). Now thread on hex nut
  4. All wiring connection can be made at this time. Follow instruction sheet (IS-18) provided
  5. Lift canopy (L) towards ceiling and secure hex nut (H) and knob (K) to threaded tube (E) to lock everything into place
  • Use screws (Z) and arm (N) to secure middle ring (M) to top ring (K). Repeat process to secure middle ring (M) to bottom ring (P)
  • Secure glass pieces (B) and soft washers (D) to fixture rings using knobs (C).
  • Lamp fixture using appropriate medium base bulbs
    Note:
it is recommend that the large and small glass pieces get alternated when assembling fixture. Glass should be turned so that the textured side of the glass faces the light source.

IS-SCC safety cable installation

WARNING: TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK, THIS SECTION OF THE INSTRUCTION SHEET IS FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SAFETY CABLE INSTALLATION, AND IS NOT TO BE USED TO MAKE ANY ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS.
The safety cable must be attached to a ceiling joist or other permanent structure independent of the junction box.

  1. using a 3/16″ dia. drill, drill a pilot hole (1). It must be drilled into the permanent structure or through the junction box on the joist side were the safety cable will be attached – see Drawing 1.
  2. Insert and thread a 1/4″ hex head lag screw (2) (not included) into pilot hole.
  3. Continue installation of this fixture according to the other provided instructions
  4. After length of safety cable is determined, allow enough extra cable so it can be wrapped around lag screw. Thread lag screw to secure safety cable.
Make electrical connections from supply wire to fixture lead wires. Refer to instruction sheet (I.S. 18) and follow all instructions to make all necessary wiring connections. Then refer back to this sheet to continue installatio of this fixture.Hinkley-FR30125-Rene-Extra-Large-Drum-Chandelier-

wiring grounding instructions

SAFE TY WARNI NG: READ WIRIN G AND GROUNDING INSTRUCTIO NS (IS 18) AND ANY ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONS. TURN POWER SUPPLY OFF DURING INSTALLATION. IF NEW WIRING IS REQUIRED, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN OR LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR CODE REQUIREMENTS

Wiring instructions

Indoor Fixtures

  1. Connec t positive supply wire (A ) (typically black or the smooth, unmarked side of the two-conduc tor cord) to positive fixture lead (B) with appropriately sized twist on connector – see Dra w ings 1 or 2.
  2. Connec t negative supply wire (C) (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to negative fixture lead (D).
  3. Please refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections

Outdoor Fixtures

  1. Connec t positive supply wire (A) (typically black or the smooth unmarked side of the two-conduc tor cord) to positive fixture lead (B) with appropriately sized twist on connector — see Drawings 2 or 3.

  2. Connec t negative supply wire (C) (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to negative fixture lead (D).

  3. Cover open end of connectors with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal.
If installing a wall mount fixture, use caulk to seal gaps between the fixture mounting plate (backpla te) and the wall. This will help prevent water from entering the outlet box. If the wall surface is lap siding, use caulk and a fixture mounting platform specially.

  4. Please refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections.

Grounding Instructions

Flush Mount Fixtures
For positive grounding in a 3-wire electrical system, fasten the fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to the fixture mounting strap (M ) with the ground screw (S) – see Draw in g 1.
Note: On straps for screw supported fixtures, first install the two mounting screws in strap. Any remaining tapped hole may be used for the ground screw.

Chain Hung Fixtures
Loop fixture ground wire (E) (typically coppe r or green plastic coated) under the head of the ground screw (S) on fixture mounting strap (M) and connect to the loose end of the fixture ground wire directly to the ground wire of the building system with appropriately sized twist-on connectors – see Draw in g 2.

Post-Mou nt Fixtur es
Connec t fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to power supply ground with appropriately sized twist-on connector inside post. Cover open end of connector with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal – see Drawing 3.
