Key press notation
Throughout this manual, the following notation is used to describe key press operations on the remote:
Important features of the RC90C remote control
- Default IR mode requires the remote and the IR sensor for the AEP 2-100 set-top box to be in line of sight to each other and provides set-top box control without having to pair the remote with the AEP 2-100 set-top box.
- Optional RF mode requires pairing the remote with the AEP 2-100 set-top box and provides set top box control. This eliminates the need for the remote and the IR sensor for the AEP 2-100 set top box to be in line of sight to each other. The remote and AEP 2-100 set-top box must establish an RF connection and remain within RF operation range in order to provide control of the set-top box. The RF operation range is up to 10 meters but will be dependent on the specific operating environment.
- The remote has a directional pad for navigation. Basic operations and functions can be selected by pressing the up, down, left, or right direction arrows as needed to highlight the desired feature, then pressing .
- The remote may be configured to control TV power, volume, mute, and input selection functions in addition to AEP2-100 set-top box functions. The remote and the IR sensor for the TV must be in line of sight of each other and the remote must be configured for the TV make/model in order to provide control of the above TV functions.
