- Compression Adjuster: Adjust to 20 clicks for optimal performance.
- Rebound Adjuster: Adjust to 18 clicks for desired rebound settings.
Caution
- Ensure all screws are tightened to the correct torque and that nothing restricts shock absorber movement when the suspension is fully compressed or extended.
FAQ
- Q: What should I do if the shock absorber installation is too tight?
- A: If the installation is too tight, use fine sandpaper to slightly reduce the diameter of the mounting studs for easier installation.
- Q: Are the Compression and Rebound adjusters effective on the RH shock absorber?
- A: No, due to low damping forces required for optimal road performance, the RH shock absorber has no damping function, making the adjusters ineffective when turned.
Note!

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Warning!
It is advisable to have an Öhlins dealer install the shock absorber.
Warning!
If working on a raised vehicle, ensure it is securely supported so that it

Note!
Before mounting this product clean the vehicle thoroughly.
Note!
When working on this product, always see the Vehicle Service Manual for
vehicle-specific procedures and important data.
-
Put the motorcycle on the centre stand/work stand so that the rear wheel barely touches the ground. Make sure the motorcycle is in a stable position.
-
Remove the standard shock absorber by loosening the nut, washer ① from lower mounting and screw, washer ② from upper mounting.
Repeat the operation on the opposite side. -
Install the Öhlins shock absorber by following the diagram as shown below (Diagram A).
Tighten the torque value as specified in the vehicle service manual.
Reverse all the procedures as necessary.
Note!
Due to manufacturing tolerances, it could occur that the Ohlins shock absorber
installation may result in too tight at the upper and lower mounting studs.
(This situation is more likely to occur on vehicles with mounting studs of
diameter greater than 11.992 mm) If you are experiencing such a situation, we
recommend you utilize fine sandpaper to slightly reduce the studs’ diameter
hence allowing the Ohlins shock absorber eyelets to slide thru the mounting
studs more easily.
Note!
Lower the vehicle so that the suspension is slightly compressed before
tightening the screws.
Caution!
Ensure that all screws are tightened to the correct torque and that nothing
fouls or restricts the movement of the shock absorber when the suspension is
fully compressed or extended.
ADJUSTMENTS
Warning!
Before riding, always make sure that the basic settings made by Öhlins are
according to recommended Set-up Data. Read about adjustments and setting up in
the Öhlins Owner’s Manual before you make any adjustments. Contact an Öhlins
dealer if you have any questions about setting up.
Note!
- Due to the low damping forces required for optimal road performance, the RH shock absorber has no damping function in it. Hence the Compression and Rebound adjusters will not be effective when turned.
- For specialty use (Eg. Racing), reach out to an Öhlins service centre for restoring the full damping and adjustability function (not advisable for road use).
