WHAT IS THE AVA NANO BRAIN?
AVA Nano Brain is a compact, always-on smart home processor that enables AVA OS to keep multiple AVA remote controls in sync and extend control to devices in equipment racks and other out-of-sight locations.

  • Three USB-C ports, one for power
  • Connects via Wi-Fi (dual band) or Ethernet (with USB-C adapter)
  • Powered by PoE or AC adapter connected to one its three USB-C ports.

GET STARTED

  1. On an AVA Cinema Remote starrt from the Home Screen
  2. Make sure both, the Cinema Remtoe and the Nano brain are on the same LAN network.
  3. Tap “Add Device”

  2. The Remote will now start to discover any factory new Nano Brains.

Follow the instructions in the app

  1. Once your Nano Brain is connected, a greeen check mark will appear.
  2. You can now start creating your automation project.

MOUNTING OPTION A

Remove the bottom screw “rack mount” for mounting
You can mount the Nano Brain to the optional mouting bracket.

Remove the bottom screw “rack mount” for mounting
You can optionally mount he Nano Brain to any 19” rack shelf.

Control Smart Home Devices

  1. The AVA App, allows you to control devices via infrared and I P.
  2. The AVA App always brings up the right Dynamic Keypad (Second Screen) configuration for fast and convenient control.

AVA Automation

  1. The AVA App must be configured by AVA certified installers. An AVA account is required.
  2. Please reach out to support@ava.com in case you do not have an installer yet.

Make AVA the default home app

  1. It’s recommended to make AVA the default home app, for the smoothest experience.
  2. Go to Settings > Apps > Choose default apps > Home app
  3. And select “AVA” as the default home app

Add devices

  1. The AVA App, on your home screen.
  2. Coose “Add Device”, and search for your device.
  3. Then click

Choose model

  1. Enter the name or model number of the device you want to add to AVA.
  2. The model number can be found on the label or manual of your device.

Choose Room

  1. Assign the device to a room, so it’s neatly organized in the user interface.

New Icon on home screen

  1. Now you see your selected device on your home screen.
  2. Tap the icon to control the device.

Main Screen and Second Screen

  1. The AVA App automatically shows the right controls for you on both screens.
  2. The button layout on the second screen, adopts automatically to each device.

STATUS

Nano Brain Status
The Nano Brain’s status LED is positioned on the front of the device. Use this to understand what is happening with the device.
Solid White – running with network (default state)
Flashing white – no network
Factory Reset – blinks red every second
WiFi Setup – slow blinking white

You have completed the setup for a Nano Brain. Party like a rockstar.

This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

The equipment complies with IC Radiation exposure limit set forth for uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm between the radiator and your body.
The device for operation in the band 5150–5250 MHz is only for indoor use to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:(1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
