This product contains a functional light source of energy efficiency class F
Light source (LED only) and driver can only be replaced by a recognised
installer.

Gesture Control (GC)
The Gesture control (GC) is operated by a sensor. The sensor is located in the centre of the light object and is indicated by an icon. The sensor has a range of 15cm under the Novy Wall (see the grey shaded area in the image below).
All movements lower than 15cm are not responded to by the sensor.
Switching the lighting on and off
The lighting can be activated in 2 ways:
- By moving your hand from left to right or right to left underneath the sensor.
- By holding your hand underneath the sensor for more than 1 second.
- Changing the light balance from top to bottom
Balance more towards the top
-
Holding your hand closer to the sensor will move the light towards the top of the Novy Wall.
Balance more towards the bottom -
By holding your hand further from the sensor (but no further than 15cm!), the light will move towards the bottom of the Novy Wall.
Changing the colour at the top
By holding your hand close to the sensor for 2 seconds, the light on the top
side of the Novy Wall will change to a preset colour.
Setting the colour
If you want to change the colour of the mood setting, first go to mood mode in the preset colour (see previous step). Next, hold your hand under the sensor for another 4 seconds until the coloured light pulses. You are now in the colour setting mode.
By moving your hand under the sensor, you “scroll” through the available colours. You can scroll forward and backward by moving the hand either from left to right or right to left underneath the sensor.
When you have reached the desired colour, remove your hand. After 4 seconds, the pulsing will stop and the chosen colour will be set as the default colour. The chosen colour will be saved.

Installation
Before starting the installation, make sure that the voltage on the wiring to be used is switched off!
-
Determine the preferred position of the Novy Wall
Mark a horizontal line at the desired height that is as long as the Novy Wall (this represents the centre of the luminaire.) For proper light distribution and operation, we recommend a minimum height of 440 mm above the worktop. Drill two holes, each at about 15 cm from the ends of this line, for fixing the supplied mounting clips. -
Fixing the mounting clips
Fix the mounting clips with the appropriate screws (not supplied).
Caution! The mounting clips have a top and bottom side (see drawing). Before tightening the screws, make sure the top side of the clips are level. If necessary, the height of each clip can still be adjusted by moving it diagonally. -
Mounting the Novy Wall
Now hang the Novy Wall on the mounting clips.
Caution! Do not press down yet. -
Connect the wiring to a wall socket behind the Novy Wall
The Novy Wall has a standard supplied power cord of about 3 metres. The order of connection depends on the location of the wall socket.
Caution! If the socket is located elsewhere, proceed to step 5.
Wall socket behind the Novy Wall
If the wall socket is at the same height as the Novy Wall, cut the supplied cable to length and then connect it to the wiring in the wall socket.
a Conceal wiring
Tuck the excess cable into the back of the Novy Wall.
a Hook the Novy Wall into place
Then click the Novy Wall over the mounting clips by pushing it towards the wall. -
Wall socket above/below the Novy Wall
If the socket is above or under the Novy Wall, you can make a recess in the rubber strip at the back of the Novy Wall (see drawing). Make sure that the cable leaves the Novy Wall via this recess you have just created.
Caution! Do not let the cable pass under the rubber profile, this will complicate the further installation process.
a Hook the Novy Wall into place
Push the Novy Wall towards the wall until it clicks over the clips. Now connect the wiring of the Novy Wall to the wall socket. Any excess wiring can be concealed in the back of the Novy Wall. -
Turn the power on
CAUTION: When switching on, the sensor will automatically calibrate itself.
Make sure there are no objects less than 15cm below the Novy Wall. This may interfere with the calibration.
External factors affecting operation
The Novy products operate with infrared sensors. If there is an extraordinary amount of infrared light, in the immediate vicinity of the fixture, this may adversely affect operation:
- Bright sunlight reflecting off shiny objects.
- Direct radiation from halogen spotlights or incandescent lamps at the underside of the fixture.
In case of excessive amounts of steam, the light fitting will possibly recognise this as a hand signal!
Cleaning
The fixture can be cleaned using simple soapy water. Do not use excess water.
For removing stubborn stains, we recommend using a mild degreaser. Preferably
use a microfibre cloth.
CAUTION: Cleaning the black sensor film should be kept to a minimum to
avoid scratch formation.
Scratches on the foil can negatively affect the operation of the sensors.
Clean film with a microfibre cloth at all times.
