SELF-CLEANING
- Add charcoal and light it.
- Place the accessory support and the heat deflector on the accessory support.
- Fully open the upper and lower vents and allow the temperature inside the grill to rise to 315°C with the dome closed.
- Maintain the temperature at approximately 315°C for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Completely close the lower vent, wait another 15-20 minutes and close the upper vent
This process will burn off any unwanted residue lodged inside the grill.
Before cooking again, brush the cooking grate with a standard grill brush. Use
a soft bristle brush on the ceramic parts to remove residue. After this
process, your heat deflectors should also be free of burnt residue. Brush them
with a soft bristle brush after cleaning. If the heat deflector becomes dirty
during normal use, flip it over so the dirty side is down during the next
cooking, and the heat will self-clean on that side.
Once or twice a year you should do a bigger cleaning of the inside of the
grill. Remove the internal components and remove any residual ash or debris
that has accumulated between the grill body and the internal components. Use a
soft plastic bristle brush to clean the interior ceramic surface, and vacuum
or vacuum debris from the bottom of the grill before replacing internal
components.
