Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Q: What should I do if the weight cannot be held or lifted to the desired height?
A: Check the hydraulic system for any issues and refer to the user manual for troubleshooting steps.

  • Q: How do I secure the vehicle when using the jack?
A: Always use wheel chocks to immobilize the vehicle before lifting.

USE

  • These jacks operate according to the hydraulic principle and have been specially designed for tire changes, where they are widely used on cars and tractors.
  • The jacks are only suitable for lifting operations. The ambient temperature in which the jacks are used must not exceed +50°C or fall below -20°C. They should not be used in areas in which acids, alkalis or corrosive gases are present. The jacks may not be used in extreme conditions (extreme climate, use in deep-freeze areas, strong magnetic fields) or in potentially explosive atmospheres.
  • Always use the jacks by operating instructions.
  • The jack may be used for short-term lifting operations in private settings. Do not use in damp environments. Protect against mechanical influences. Not suitable for use on construction sites.
  • This jack complies with the EN 1494 +A1:2008 standard for mobile or movable jacks and associated lifting equipment, as well as European Directive 2006/42/EC (“Machinery Directive”).

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Never use under extreme conditions, e.g. in extreme climate zones, deep-freeze applications, strong magnetic fields, etc.
  • Never use in special fields of application: e.g. potentially explosive areas, mines, etc.
  • Never lift loads whose state (molten metal, acids, radioactive materials, brittle loads, etc.) could lead to a hazardous situation occurring.
  • Hazards can occur during decommissioning – this should be carried out by an expert.
  • For use indoors only to avoid the risk of wind pressure during and outside of the operation.
  • Never use on vessels, particularly sea-going vessels.
  • Oil must not leak during use. If an oil leak is detected, discontinue use immediately and contact the manufacturer.
  • In the event of an obstruction, discontinue use immediately and support the load with an ordinary stand. Contact the manufacturer for assistance.
  • Never exceed the rated load capacity of the jack.
  • The jack may only be used on firm and level ground that is capable of bearing the load.
  • Never work under the suspended load without additional support in place.
  • The jack may never be operated at an angle or horizontally.
  • The raised body must lie firmly and securely on the saddle.
  • Centre the load on the jack saddle before raising the vehicle.
  • The vehicle must be secured to prevent it from rolling away. Do not move the jack if it is supporting a load.
  • Use the jack at the lifting points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • Please use the jack in such a way that there is no need for you to reach under the vehicle to operate the jack.
  • The pressure relief valve is set in the plant. The user does not need to adjust it.
  • The user must always work by the operating instructions.
  • The user must watch the lifting equipment and the load during all movement operations.
  • The user must have been properly trained in all information relating to operation, pump and movement forces.
  • In the event of an oil leak, use must be discontinued.
  • Contact with foodstuffs is prohibited.
  • Use the device solely for lifting and lowering the load. Holding a load in a permanently raised position can overload the device and give rise to personal injury and material damage.
  • The jack may not be used to lift people.
  • People must not lean against or be under, in, or on the vehicle. To avoid the risk of injury, avoid all hazards that could occur when dismantling the jack.
  • Use only original spare parts for the model in question.
  • If the effort exceeds 400 N, the device must be operated with an additional person.
  • Do not make any modifications to the jack.
  • If the jack can no longer be lowered as desired, secure the vehicle with blocks to prevent it from being lowered unintentionally. Obtain an additional jack and lift the vehicle to a height that allows you to safely remove the defective jack. If in doubt, seek professional assistance.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Always include the operating instructions when handing the device to a third party.
Secure the load to prevent it from slipping before inserting the device. Apply the handbrake and engage a gear. Secure the wheels that will not be raised with chocks.
Consult your vehicle’s owner manual for the location of the vehicle’s support points. Lift the load only at the designated support points to avoid material damage.
While lifting, monitor how the device behaves while it is bearing the load. Insert the handle into the head of the jack. Secure the end of the handle with the retaining bolt. Tighten the retaining bolt to fix the handle in place.

Lifting a load:

  • Before starting the pumping operation, turn the outlet valve clockwise with the handle until it is firmly closed.
  • Position the jack so that the saddle is centred at an appropriate lifting point under the vehicle.
  • Depress the foot pedal to raise the saddle as close as possible to the support point. Pump the jack at the handle to maintain the height of the saddle.
  • Actuate the handle on the jack until the saddle is in contact with the load. Check again that the saddle is correctly positioned.
  • Lift the load to the desired height, then transfer the load to suitable blocks/supports.

Lowering a load:

  • Start by lifting the load with the jack so that you can remove the blocks/supports.
  • Slowly turn the outlet valve anti-clockwise, approximately one half to one full rotation. If the piston remains extended, press it downwards by hand so that it is no longer exposed to air – this helps to avoid the risk of rust formation.

MAINTENANCE

Important:

  • The oil type is ESSO SAE 15.
  • Fluids other than high-grade hydraulic oil must not be used.
  • Unsuitable fluid can severely damage the internal parts of the jack.

Filling the oil
Press the pressure piston fully downwards. Use a cross-head screwdriver to remove the rubber plug from the oil reservoir and pour oil into the opening.

Changing the oil

  • We recommend changing the oil once annually to preserve the service life of your device. To drain the oil, remove the rubber plug from the oil reservoir, place the jack on its side and drain the oil into a collecting tray.
  • Dirt and foreign bodies must not find their way into the hydraulic system.

Lubrication

Lubricate all rotating parts with regular lubricating oil every 3 months.

Preventing rust formation
Inspect the pressure piston for signs of rust and corrosion every 3 months. Clean if necessary and wipe with an oilcloth. When out of use, the saddle and pressure piston must be fully lowered.
Service life: 2 years with normal, private use.

Rules for maintenance and repair

  • When topping up the hydraulic system, the properties of the hydraulic fluid used in the jack and the fill level specified by the manufacturer must be considered and complied with.
  • Check the condition of the labels regularly and ensure that the labels correspond with the originals.
  • The jack must be maintained and repaired by the manufacturer’s instructions. Maintenance and repair must be carried out by an expert.
  • Moving part deformed or oil leak – contact service. Apply appropriate measures to ensure that no oil spills can occur, e.g. using a suitable filling aid.
  • Modifications are not permitted.
