Carefully read this user guide before installing the car seat in your vehicle and always keep it to hand for future reference.

**** IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND WARNINGS

  • Without the approval of the Type Approval Authority, the car seat may not be modified or added to in any way.

  • In order to keep your child properly protected, it is absolutely essential that you use the car seat as described in this manual.

  • Do not use before the child’s age exceeds 15 months and before it reached a size of 76 cm.

  • This car seat may only be installed on vehicle seats which are approved for the use of child restraint systems according to the vehicle manual.

  • Only suitable for vehicle seats with automatic threepoint belts approved in accordance with UN Regulation No. 16 or a comparable standard.

  • Do not use any load bearing contact points other than those described in the instructions and marked on the child restraint.

  • The full surface of the backrest of the car seat must make contact with the backrest of the vehicle.

  • When securing the child with impact shield (76 cm – 105 cm, > 15 m, max. 21 kg), the attachment of ISOFIX locking arms is not enough: it is absolutely necessary to attach the top tether belt in addition.

  • The top tether belt may only be fastened to a marked attachment point.

  • For usage in between height range 76 cm – 100 cm the impact shield must be used.

  • The shoulder belt must run upwards and back at a recline. It must never run forward to the upper belt point in your vehicle.

  • The vehicle belt buckle must never cross the arm rest of the seat. If the belt whip is too long, the car seat is not suitable for use in this position in the vehicle.

  • The threepoint belt must only be passed through the designated routings.
The belt routings are described in detail in this manual and are marked in green on the car seat.

  • The lap belt must run as low as possible across your child’s groin to have optimum effect in the event of an accident.

  • Before each use make sure that the impact shield or automatic threepoint vehicle belt is correctly adjusted and fits tightly to the child’s body. Never twist the belt!

  • All straps must be tight and must not be twisted!

  • Only an optimally adjusted headrest can offer your child maximum protection and comfort while ensuring that the shoulder belt can be fitted smoothly.

  • The car seat must always be used with the backrest attached. The backrest may only be removed for cleaning or stowing.

  • The car seat must always be secured correctly in the vehicle even when not in use.

  • Always ensure that the car seat is not jammed when closing the car door or adjusting the back seat.

  • Luggage or any other objects present in the vehicle must always be firmly secured. Otherwise, they may be thrown within the car, which could cause fatal injuries.

  • The car seat must never be used without the seat cover. Ensure that only an original CYBEX seat cover is used, as the cover is a key element of the seat’s function.

  • Never leave your child unattended in the car.

  • The parts in the child restraint system heat up in the sun and could potentially burn your child’s skin. Protect your child and the car seat from direct sun exposure.

  • An accident may cause damage to the car seat that is not identifiable with the naked eye. Please replace the seat after an accident. In case of doubt, please consult your dealer or the manufacturer.

  • Do not use this car seat for more than 11 years. The car seat is exposed to high stress during its product life span, which leads to changes in the quality of the material with increasing age.

  • The plastic parts can be cleaned with a mild cleaning agent and warm water.

  • Never use harsh cleaning agents or bleaches!

  • On some vehicle seats made of sensitive materials, the use of car seats may leave marks and/or cause discolouration. To prevent this, you can place a blanket or towel or similar underneath the car seat to protect the vehicle seat.

100 cm – 150 cm; with automatic three-point belt
The car seat can be used on vehicle seats which are equipped with an automatic threepoint belt. Refer to the vehicle type list for approved vehicles.
You can obtain the most uptodate version from go.cybex-online.com /pallasb-isize-car-compatibility.
For the use with threepoint belt between the height range 100 cm – 150 cm
there is the possibility of usage without ISOFIX and top tether. In this case, the car seat must always be secured with the threepoint belt even when there is no child in the seat.
In exceptional cases, the car seat may also be used on the front passenger seat. Always comply with the recommendations of the vehicle manufacturer.
? Above a child’s height of 135 cm, the compatibility between the car seat and your vehicle might be reduced.

INSTALLING THE CAR SEAT IN THE VEHICLE

  1. Always ensure that…
    • the backrests in the vehicle are locked in their upright position.
    • when installing the car seat on the front passenger seat, adjust the vehicle seat as far back as possible without affecting the belt routing.

  2. Pull the ISOFIX adjustment handle (4) and pull out the ISOFIX locking arm (5) with the other hand until it locks into position. Repeat the same for releasing the ISOFIX locking arm (5) on the other side.
? The ISOFIX locking arms have to be released independently.

  3. Place the car seat on an appropriate seat in the car.

  4. Push the ISOFIX locking arms (5) into the ISOFIX anchorage points (6) until these lock into place with an audible “CLICK”. The two ISOFIX safety indicators (7) will switch from red to green.

  5. Ensure the car seat is secure by trying to pull it out of the ISOFIX anchorage points (6).

  6. The car seat can be brought into different sitting or recline position by pressing the ISOFIX adjustment handle (4) and moving the car seat forward or push back. See chapter “ADJUSTING THE RECLINE POSITIONS”.
? If the headrest of the vehicle is in the way, pull it upwards to its furthest extent or remove it completely (except in rearfacing vehicle seats).

  7. Guide the top tether belt (8) straight across the vehicle seat and anchor it using the snap hook on the anchor point of your vehicle.
? Top tether can be extended by pressing the top tether adjustment button (20).
