USING CROWNHANGERS™
-
Measure and cut the molding to the proper length.
-
Position the CrownHangers™ so the molding will be evenly supported. Use 2 hangers for up to 12 feet long pieces of molding. A third hanger may be used for longer lengths.
-
Hammer a nail or drive a screw into the wall 1 ” down from the ceiling for smaller trim. Leave the head sticking out of the wall at least 1/4 inch (see img. 1 a). For larger pieces of molding, the naiVscrew will need to be moved down further from the ceiling.
-
With the CrownHanger™ in the closed and locked position, hang the CrownHanger™ on the naiVscrew using the hanger hook (see img. 1 b).
-
Position the crown molding into the CrownHanger™ (see img. 2).
-
Tack the molding into place.
-
Remove the CrownHanger™ when you are within 3-4 feet of the hanger.
-
To Remove – Pinch the tabs near the base of the hanger and gently pull them from the slots (see img. 3a). Slide the hanger upward and to the right to detach the hanger hook from the nail/screw. Slide the CrownHanger™ from under the molding (see img. 3b).

Finish nailing the crown molding in place.

HOW TO USE THE TRIM45™
-
Hold button upward to adjust to your desired reveal (see img. 1).
-
The reveal gauge has a maximum of 1 /2″ and adjusts in 1 /8″ increments. Push the button down to lock your desired setting (see img.2). Hint: The scale is only used tor a reference.
-
Align the reveal gauge to the jamb comer and make your horizontal and vertical marks using the edges of the reveal gauge scale (see img. 3a). Repeat this for all four comers (see img. 3b). The front and back of the Trim45™ are used to make all marks or measurements for your jambs and trim casings (see img. 3c).
-
Nail the Trim45™ in place. There are two small holes just above the reveal gauge to insert nails (see img. 4).
-
Using the indicated tape measure slots, measure the distance between your marks to determine the finish trim length. Be sure to write these measurements down. There are two magnets next to each tape measure slot to help hold the tape measure in place (see img. 5).
-
Preparing for your cut – after you have measured the lengths of your trim pieces, set your miter saw to 45° angle and cut one end of the trim casing (see img. 6).
-
Using the 45° end that you just cut, with the backside of your trim piece facing up, use the built in trim plate to damp your 45° miter cut piece onto the trim plate, being sure it is placed in the 45° angle head (see img. 7).
-
Clamp the Trim45™ to the backside of trim, using the trim plate to keep the Trim45™ in place. Using the indicated tape measure slot, measure the finish trim length and mark it (see img. 8).
-
Reset your reveal gauge to 0. Flip the Trim45™ over and make a 45° angle mark using the 45° angle head. Your mark should start at the corner of the reveal gauge and follow the built in 45° angle. Cut the trim along the angle mark {see img. 9).
