Important Notes:
- Removal of the side cover will void the warranty.
- All appropriate safety equipment must be used during installation.
Step-by-Step Installation:
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Loosen the clamps on the air intake tube and air box, then remove the tube.
- Remove the four bolts securing the stock throttle body to the intake manifold.
- Remove the stock throttle body, ensuring to wipe off any debris from the gasket.
- Bolt-on the BBK Throttle Body using the stock hardware.
- Disconnect the air temperature sensor plug and throttle body control motor plug.
- Re-install the air inlet tube to the BBK Throttle Body and air box, then tighten the clamps.
- Reconnect the air temperature sensor and throttle body control motor plug.
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
Throttle Position/Gas Pedal Relearn Procedure:
After completing the installation, follow these steps for throttle relearn:
- Ensure the throttle body and gas pedal are re-synched before starting the engine to prevent checking the engine light for increased idle.
- If the throttle body has already been installed, follow steps 1-4 in the provided instructions.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY TO ENSURE CORRECT FITMENT AND
OPERATION
WITH THIS THROTTLE BODY YOU WILL BE RE-USING THE STOCK RUBBER GASKET AND THE
FOUR STOCK BOLTS THAT RETAIN THE THROTTLE BODY.

STEP 1
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
STEP 2
Disconnect the air temperature sensor plug and the throttle body control motor plug. -
STEP 3
Loosen the clamps on the air intake tube and air box, and then remove the tube. -
STEP 4
Remove the four bolts that secure the throttle body to the intake manifold. -
STEP 5
Remove the stock throttle body. The stock O-ring seal will be re-used. Be sure to wipe off any debris from the gasket. -
STEP 6
Bolt-on the BBK Throttle Body using the stock hardware. On the 5.7L Hemi Plastic manifolds, take extra care when re-installing the mounting bolts. The “Speed Nut” type threaded nuts can be easily stripped. Make sure the threads of the bolts are properly engaged with the nut before tightening. -
STEP 7
Re-install the air inlet tube to the BBK Throttle Body and air box and then tighten the clamps. -
STEP 8
Re-connect the air temperature sensor and the throttle body control motor plug. Re-connect the negative battery terminal and refer to page 2 of the instruction sheet for the throttle relearn procedure.
THROTTLE POSITION/GAS PEDAL RELEARN PROCEDURE
FOR THE BBK #1781 AND #1782 THROTTLE BODIES FOR THE CHRYSLER/DODGE 5.7,
6.1, 6.4L HEMI ENGINE
With the addition of the larger bore throttle body and its larger intake flap,
the gas pedal and throttle body must be re-synched before starting the engine.
This must be done to prevent a check engine light for “increased idle” The
procedure is simple.
After installation instructions are complete, please follow the procedures below. If the throttle body has already been installed, please just follow steps 1- 4.

Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. Reconnect. (or use a code reader to clear any stored codes in the computer)
NOTE: If this is a new install, proceed to step 2. -
Turn the ignition key to the on position, do not start the engine.

Slowly depress the gas pedal to the floor, and then slowly release it. Do this three (3) times. On the third press hold the pedal to the floor until the check engine light flashes release the pedal and turn the key off.

Now start the engine. The gas pedal is now in sync with the larger throttle body.
