INSTALLATION GUIDE – VENTILATION DETAILING SL8, PAN8 & V2 Air/Soil Vent

SL8 Air Soil Vent Kit
Minimum spacing 600mm between vent tiles in any direction
- Ensure that the tiles are laid at the correct headlap (detailed overleaf). Mark on the underlay the location of the centre of the vent tile spigot (Picture 1).
- Cut horizontal and vertical lines to form an opening to accommodate the flexi-pipe through the underlay. Fold up underlay wings as shown (Picture 2).
- Position the felt wier under the tiling batten directly above the opening and mark on the underlay the edges of the felt wier (Picture 3).
- Cut a horizontal line between the marked edges. Insert the felt weir into the horizontal cut and rest the bottom edge on the batten below (Picture 4).
- Secure the flexi-pipe to the vent tile spigot using the jubilee clip provided. (Soil Vent only)
- Insert the flexi-pipe into he opening ensuring that the underlay wings are not pushed back into the roof space (Picture 5)
- Push the remainder of the flexi-pipe into the opening and ensure that the Lo-Vent sits neatly in place. Nail vent tile into place and secure using one tile clip in accordance with BS 5534.
