INTRODUCTION

This 4K30 USB-C Video Capture Module Card allows the product it has been installed in to connect to a PC or laptop via the USB-C interface to capture or record video signals up to 4K@30Hz.

The module’s design is compatible with a variety of products that have a standard CYP Module Slot, offering increased flexibility to customers. This module card’s output supports video capture on Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.

APPLICATIONS

  • PC video capturing for live streaming on Facebook, YouTube or Twitch channels via OBS
  • Video capturing for communication software
  • A useful capture tool for meeting room and classroom applications

PACKAGE CONTENTS

  • 1× 4K30 USB-C Video Capture Module Card
  • 2× Mounting Screws
  • 1× Operation Manual

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be installed into a product with an available compatible CYP Module Slot
  • Personal computer (Windows or macOS) with a USB-C port and plenty  of available hard drive space.

FEATURES

  • Supports video resolutions up to 4K@60Hz from the product it is installed into

  • USB-C output allows uncompressed video and audio data capture (up to 4K@30Hz, LPCM 2.0) via the connected PC
Note: 4K sources with framerates higher than 30Hz are automatically converted to lower framerates which depends on the setting of your PC software.

  • Complies with the UAC (USB Audio Class) and UVC (USB Video Class) standards, allowing the unit to support the most common capture and video streaming software
Note: Access to many of the software controllable features of the unit, beyond simple video capture, requires the use of the USB Video Capture Control software which is optionally available for Windows 10 or later PCs.

  • Supports video timing stabilization to help ensure a reliable and stable USB capture stream

  • Capturing over a USB 2.0 connection (rather than USB 3.0) requires the application of minimal MJPEG compression to the video data (output up to 720p@30Hz, LPCM 2.0 is supported)

  • Supports the Free OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) streaming software which is available for Windows 10 (or later), macOS, and Linux

OPERATION CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS

Front Panel
Front Panel

  1. PWR LED: This LED will illuminate red to indicate the card is receiving power. The color of the LED will change to green when a valid video source has been detected.

  2. ACT LED: When software on the connected PC is actively receiving video from the unit via USB, this LED will illuminate green.

  3. HDCP LED: This LED will illuminate when the source contains HDCP encrypted content (green for HDCP 1.x, blue for HDCP 2.2).
Note: Video capture of HDCP encrypted content is not supported and the output will be blacked out.

  4. USB-C Out Port: Connect to a PC or laptop for video capture.
