Before First Use
DANGER Risk of suffocation!
Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets

- Remove al the packing materials.
- Remove and review all components before installation.
- Check the product for transport damages.
Installation
3.1 Determining door orientation
- Face the exterior side of the door. Note the location of the hinges.
- If the hinges are on the left, the door swings open from the left.
- If the hinges are on the ight, the door swings open from the right.
3.2 Installing on new door
3.2.1 Drilling holes
- Fold the template at the dotted line. Tape the template onto the interior side of the door between 34-48″ (86-122 cm) from the floor for the height of the doorknob (Fig. ).
- Measure the thickness of the door to determine the center point for the latch. Mark either the 1-3/4″ (44 mm) or 1-3/8″ (37 mm) hole.
- Mark either the 2-3/8″ or 2-3/4″ (60 mim or 70 mm) hole for the backset.
- Drilla 2-1/8″ (54 mm) hole through door face as marked for the lock body (Fig. 2).
- Drilla 1″ (25 mm) hole i the center of the door edge for the latch (Fig. 2).
3.2.2 Adjusting the backset
The backset s preset at 2-3/8″ (60 mm), which is standard for most doors
- Pull the spindle cam out from the latch to change the backset to 2-3/4″ (70 mm) (Fig. 3).
- Push the spindle cam back inside the latch to change the backset to 2-3/8″ (60 mm)
- Make sure the cams stay aligned in a square shape (Fig. 4).
3.2.3 Installing the latch
NOTICE
If using the drive-in collar, it i not necessary to chisel the door edge for
faceplate installation. Secure the drive-in collar onto the latch, then instal
the latch into the edge bore directly. Make sure the bevel faces the outside
assembly.
Attaching the latch face plate
Prior to installation, make sure that the face plate is appropriate for the
latch.
Replacing the face plate
- Pry the face plate from the latch with a flat head screwdriver (Fig. 5).
- Align and press to snap the appropriate face plate onto the latch (Fig. 5).
Installing the drive-in collar (optional)
Align the drive-in collar to the head of the latch, then push to lock it into
position (Fig. 6).
- Insert the latch into the hole, keeping it parallel to the door face. Mark around the outside of the latch and the screw hole locations with a pencil then remove the latch (Fig. 7).
- Chisel in the door to 1/8″ (3 mm) deep to allow the latch face to lie flush with the door edge (Fig. 8). Cut the area into small sections first.
- Drill pilot holes over the marks for the 3/16″ (4 mm) wood screws.
- Reinsert the latch into the hole. Make sure to position the flat side of the latch facing the opening direction of the door.
- Insert and tighten the 2 wood screws through the latch plate (Fig. 9).
- Optional: If using the drive-in collar, install the latch with drive-in collar into the edge bore directly (Fig. 10).
3.2.4 Installing the strike plate
- Close the door until the latch assembly is partially inside the door jamb. Mark 2 lines on the door frame parallel to the top and bottom of the latch plate. Mark 1 horizontal line at the center of the strike plate installation area (Fig. 11 ).
- Measure half of the door’s thickness from the inner corner of the door jamb to determine the vertical center of the strike plate. Mark 1 vertical line at the center of the strike plate installation area.
- Drill a1″(25 mm) hole that is 1/2″ (13 mm) deep at the intersection of the marked lines.
- Center the screw holes over the vertical line. Draw around the strike plate and mark the positions of the screw holes.
- Chisel in the door jamb to 1/16″(1.6 mm) deep to allow the strike plate to lie flush with the door jamb (Fig. 12). Cut the area into small sections first.
- Position the strike plate into the mortise. Drill pilot holes over the marked positions of the screw holes using a drill bit.
- Insert and tighten both of the 3/16″ (4 mm) wood screws for the strike plate (Fig. 13).
- Move the strike plate inward to tighten the fit between the door and the door jamb. Chisel more if necessary.
3.2.5 Installing the outer lever assembly
Align and insert the spindle of the outer lever through the latch. Press flush
against the door (fig. 14).
3.2.6 Installing the inner lever assembly
- Depress the inner lever catch through the hole of the inner trim collar using the handle pin. Pull the inner lever off of the mounting plate (Fig. 15).
- Align and insert the mounting plate onto the spindle of the outer lever (Fig. 16, Fig. 17).
- Insert and tighten the 2 machine screws through the mounting plate into the stems of the outer lever (Fig. 16, Fig. 17).
- Align the tab of the inner rose with the notch of the mounting plate (Fig. 16, Fig. 17).
- Press the inner lever into the inner rose until it fits securely into place (Fig. 16, Fig. 17).
Cleaning and Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Wipe with a soft, clean cloth.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.
4.2 Maintenance
- Periodically inspect the doorknob for any signs of wear or damage.
- Lubricate the doorknob if needed to maintain proper functionality.
- Replace the doorknob promptly if it becomes worn-out to prevent risk of security incidents.
Disposal
Dispose of the product according to local regulations. If in doubt, consult your local authorities.
