All Fiber Textile Rinse
Neutralizing acidic rinse
Removes residues and soil • Rinses clean
FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY

BACKGROUND

All Fiber Textile Rinse (AFTR) is a mildly acidic neutralizer used during extraction cleaning of carpets, rugs, and upholstery. It serves several functions in the cleaning process:

  • It neutralizes damaging alkaline residues that are found in many textiles, especially those textiles that have been poorly maintained. These residues can contribute to browning, color bleeding, re-soiling, and a stiff feel.
  • AFTR removes other contaminants such as road salt, calcium deposits, and urine salts.

AFTR is suitable for use on all synthetic fibers and most water-cleanable natural fibers including wool.
You can use AFTR in either portable or truck-mount extraction equipment.
PRETESTING: Check the compatibility of the product with the textile prior to use.

PREPARATION OF READY-TO-USE (RTU) SOLUTIONS

  • For use with truck mount equipment: Mix 1 quart (946 mL) per 5 gallons (18.9 L) of water. Set the chemical injection flow meter at 2 gals. (7.6 L) per hour.
  • For use with portable extractors: mix 1 ounce (30 mL) of concentrate with 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water.
  • Dilution for Spray/Acid Rinse: mix 1 ounce (30 mL) of concentrate with 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water.

Tech tips:

  • Add the concentrate to the water rather than water to the concentrate whenever possible. This will reduce the foam inside the container.
  • Wear suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) as recommended in the SDS.
  • Because AFTR is acidic, it can damage surfaces that are not acid resistant. Surfaces such as polished marble are damaged by even momentary contact with an acid. Avoid contact of this product with such surfaces.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

For use in pre-spray and rinse extraction:

  1. Preinspect / pretest / pretreat spots as needed.

  2. Vacuum the textile thoroughly.

  3. Apply the preferred preconditioner or traffic lane cleaner according to the label directions.

  4. Rinse the extract using the RTU AFTR that you just prepared.
Note: if excess foaming should occur during the extraction process, use
    Defoamer according to label directions.

  5. Use ventilation as needed to promote quick drying.

For use as a spray rinse
Some textiles have excess alkalinity due to poor previous maintenance. Confirm using standard pH testing methods. To correct this condition, apply 1 gallon (3.8 L) of the spray rinse RTU solution per 200 – 500 square feet (20 – 50 square meters) depending on the pile density. Use a coarse mist. Rake or groom into the textile, then vacuum extract.

CLEANUP

  • Check for any spills or overspray; remove promptly.
  • Dispose of wastewater properly. Do not dispose of anywhere but in a sanitary water treatment system.
  • Rinse equipment to remove product residues; these residues can interfere with valves or spray jets.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

  • Avoid inhaling mist from the product when handling or preparing the ready-to-use solution. If necessary, wear respiratory protection.
  • Keep children and pets away from your work area, from cleaning products, and from your equipment.
  • If using a truck mount style extractor, remember that water supply lines and fittings will get very hot. This heat can damage lawns and some types of carpeting. The heat can also burn the skin.
  • Read the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for all products before using them. You can obtain the SDSs from your distributor or from www.LegendBrandsCleaning.com
