Fitting
The Itunes PRO Aware comes with 4 sets of TRILOGY™ foam ear tips (XS, S,M,L)
and 1 set of triple flange silicone eartips. Choose the size that fits best in
your ear canal. Remember, the snugger the fit, the better the noise blocking.

ISOtunes® TRILOGY™ foam ear tips have a threaded core and the sound port on
the earbud is also threaded.
- Twist the foam ear tip counterclockwise to remove and clockwise to place on a new foam eartip.
- Carefully compress the foam ear tip on the stem/sound port.
- Insert the foam/ear tip into your ear as deeply as is comfortable and hold for 5 seconds while the foam expands.
- Repeat with the second ear tip.
Hint: To open your ear canal wider, lift the top of your ear up and away from your head, as shown in the diagram.
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing ISOtunes PRO Aware professional noise-isolating
earbuds. These earbuds have been specifically de- signed to protect against
harmful noise – allowing you to block out much of the surrounding noise so you
can listen to your music or talk on the phone with less interruption. This
product has been tested and meets the ANSI standards for a hearing protector,
with a Single Number Rating (SNR) of 33 dB and a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR)
of 26 dB. Full testing details are available in the Noise Attenuation section
of this booklet.
Noise Attenuation
Itunes PRO Aware is tested and approved in accordance with ANSI S3.19-1974, EN
352-2:2002, EN 352-7:2020, EN 352-9:2020, and EN 352-10:2020 Specifications.
ANSI
S3.19-1974
The level of noise entering a person’s ear, when these earbuds are worn as
directed, is closely approximated by the difference between the A-weighted
environmental noise level and the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). Improper fit
of this device will reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise. Consult the
enclosed instructions for proper fitting.
A1: Frequency (Hz)
A2: Mean Attenuation (dB)
A3: Standard Deviation (dB)
Example:
- The surrounding noise level measured at the ear is 100 dB.
- The NRR of ISOtunes PRO Aware is 26 dB.
- The noise level entering the ear is approximately equal to 74dB.
Please note that the NRR is based on the attenuation of continuous noise and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive noise, such as gunfire.
EN 352
The product has been tested and approved in accordance with PPE standards: EN
352-2:2002, EN 352-7:2020, EN 352-9:2020 and EN 352-10:2020.
RED
The product has been tested and approved in accordance with RED Standards:
ETSI EN 300 328 V2.2.2 (2019-07), EN 62479:2010, ETSI EN 301 489-1 V2.2.3

- B1: Frequency (Hz)
- B2: Mean Attenuation (dB)
- B3: Standard Deviation (dB)
- B4: Assumed Protection Value (APV) (dB)
- B5: H = Hearing protection estimation for high-frequency sounds (f ≥ 2000Hz)
M = Hearing protection estimation for medium frequency sounds (500 Hz < f < 2000Hz)
L = Hearing protection estimation for low-frequency sounds (f ≤ 500Hz)
Criterion level is the sound pressure level in dB(A) of the noise environment resulting in 85 dB(A) effective to the ear while wearing hearing protectors. Three different criterion levels are defined related to the frequency content of the noies.
- C1: H = criterion level for high-frequency noise
- C2: M = criterion level for medium-frequency noise
- C3: L= criterion level for low-frequency noise
The earplugs are provided with level-dependent attenuation. The user should check correct operation before use. If distortion or failure is detected, the user should refer to the manufacturer’s advice for maintenance and replacement of the battery.
Warning: the performance may deteriorate with battery usage.
Warning: The output of the audio circuit of this hearing protector might
exceed the exposure limit level.
The typical period of continuous use that can be expected from the built-in
battery is up to 11 hours.
SafeMax™ Technology
Itunes PRO Aware incorporates SafeMax™ Technology, therefore its volume output
has been limited to 85 decibels ( IT-38), and 79 decibels (IT-39). ISOtunes®
devices with SafeMax™ Technology are OSHA and ANSI compliant and when
designated, meet the Europe-an Safety Standard EN 352.
The earplugs provide audio signal sound pressure level limitation. The
earplugs limit the entertainment audio signal to less than 82 dB(A) effective
to the ear.
Battery and Charging
The built-in battery can be charged with the included charging cable. This
battery is not replaceable. Plug the cable into the charging port on the
controller and a 5 Volt USB port.
Low battery is indicated audibly by a warning tone.
