The cord has a plug as shown at A in below figure. An adapter as shown at C is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

Installation der Palma Twin – Manuell

Warning! This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least a 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear (see figure below).
Warning! If possible, leave a free space of 1.5 metres in front of the outlet opening.

Insert the plug (2.0) of the Palma Twin (1.0) directly into the mains socket (5.0).
Warning! Never insert or remove the power plug with wet hands. When using a multiple socket or an extension cable please ensure that the maximum current carrying capacity is not exceeded. Cable drums must always be completely unrolled. Do not wrap the connection cable around the device and never operate the device with wound cable. Using the Palma Twin – Manual

General operation
The Palma Twin recirculating air heater is equipped with a thermostat switch and a selector switch. With the selection switch, you can select one of 3 possible operating modes. These are “Recirculation”, “750 W heat output” and “1.5 kw heat output”.

Modi of the Palma Twin – Manual

  • Unit not in operation
  • Circulating air without heating (circulation in continuous operation)
  • 750W heating capacity (heating controlled by the thermostat, recirculation in continuous operation)
  • 1.5kW heating capacity (heating controlled by the thermostat, recirculation in continuous operation)

Using the Palma Twin in recirculation mode

On the selection switch, select position “Recirculation” as the mode. In this mode, there is NO heating.
Manual: Plug the Palma Twin – Manual fan heater directly into the mains socket. The Palma Twin will now run in continuous operation. During the summer months, you can achieve a reduction in the temperature in the greenhouse by using the recirculation mode. In this operating mode, open the door or the skylight of your greenhouse.
Please note! In this operating mode, the position of the thermostat switch is irrelevant. The greenhouse air heated by the sun is constantly circulated in recirculation mode and in this way transported to the outside. At the same time, this regulates the humidity in the greenhouse and promotes pollination of your plants.

Using the Palma Twin – Manual in “750W heating mode”

If you want to heat a room or a greenhouse, use one of the two operating modes for heating. The “750W heating mode” is selected by setting the right selection switch to the symbol. You can now regulate the temperature with the left-hand temperature switch. If you are using the Palma Twin without a digital temperature display, you can use a thermometer to determine the temperature in the room. If the temperature is too high or too low, you can adjust it by turning the left thermostat switch. When the desired room temperature is reached, slowly turn the thermostat counterclockwise until the switch-off point is reached. The switch-off point means that the heating heats up to this point (heating is indicated by the red signal light). If the left switch is set below this switch-off point, the fan heater does not heat, even though you may have set the fan heater to “heating” mode. The fan heater always heats the room as soon as the room temperature falls below the set level (switch-off point). You can also hear the switch-off point by a “click” or recognise it by the signal light (above the switch-off point, the signal light lights up, and heating is in progress. Below the switch-off point the signal light does not light up, the Palma is not heating). If there are temperature discrepancies, you must adjust them slightly. Due to the bimetal thermostat’s measuring tolerance of ± 41°F, it may be necessary to check the set temperature with a thermometer and readjust if necessary.

Please note! Unfortunately, it is not possible to attach a temperature scale to the thermostat switch, as the behaviour of each greenhouse varies depending on size, insulation, fill level and location.
The illustration shows as an example: Palma Twin set to 750W heating on level 8.

Using the Palma Twin – Manual in “1.5kW heating mode”

If you want to heat a room or a greenhouse, use one of the two operating modes for heating. The “1.5kw heating mode” is selected by setting the right-hand selection switch to the symbol. You can also hear the switch-off point by a “click” or recognise it by the signal light (above the switch-off point, the signal light lights up, heating is in progress.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to print a temperature scale on the thermostat switch, as the behaviour of each greenhouse varies according to size, insulation, filling level and location.
The illustration shows as an example: Palma Twin set to 1.5kw heating on level 8.

Safety features

  • Temperature-controlled circuit breaker: If the device overheats the temperature-controlled circuit breaker will switch the device off temporarily. To switch the device back on, turn the heater off for 5 to 10 minutes to cool down Another reason for the shutdown would be blockage of the intake or outlet opening.
  • In this case please remove the corresponding objects. It could also be an indication that the ventilator has failed. In this case switch the heater (1) off, remove the plug (2) from the socket (5) and contact an authorized specialist to arrange repair.

Warning! The casing heats up during operation. Install in such a way that accidental contact is avoided. The device only cools slowly after it is switched off. Only transport it using the carrying handle that is designed for this purpose and do not touch the surface of the heater.

Cleaning, maintenance, environment and disposal

Cleaning and maintenance

Warning! Switch the device off before each cleaning and leave it to cool for approximately 30 minutes before beginning cleaning.
Warning! Do not use any abrasive, caustic or cleaning materials.
Clean the casing with a damp cloth (not wet), vacuum cleaner or feather duster.

Environment and disposal

Please note! Only dispose of devices at a corresponding collection centre.
Please note! Only authorized specialists are permitted to carry out repairs on the device. Please contact the manufacturer or distributor in this regard.
Warning! Incorrectly executed repairs can represent a hazard for the user and other persons.
The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage caused by frost, insufficient heating performance for the room dimensions or insufficient heat insulation.
