INTRODUCTION
The new Palma heater from Bio Green has a digital thermostat and is a powerful greenhouse heater. It is also small, energy-efficient, and safe to use. Its sturdy housing is primarily made of stainless steel. This floor-standing heater looks well in any setting thanks to its classic style. Palma is also the best option for smaller greenhouses with limited space. It may be used practically anyplace due to its small size, slip-resistant rubber, and convenient carrying handle. With the technique we have created, the greenhouse’s temperature is reliably kept at a comfortable level without experiencing energy-draining temperature peaks. The energy savings are not the result of heating only partially; rather, they result from using the energy efficiently.
The problem with greenhouse heating Even in the corners, the temperature in a greenhouse must be above 32°F to prevent frost formation. If the air circulation is not strong enough to get there, the heater’s temperature must be quite high; however, most of the heat escapes up into the greenhouse’s gable, where it is not needed, while the corners may still drop below freezing. This is insufficient because wasted heating energy. Additionally, especially with less expensive thermostats, there could be a sizable temperature variation between when the heater turns on.
As a result, if the thermostat has a switching difference of, say, 43°F, the greenhouse must be heated to 47°F in order to prevent it from dropping below the frost-free threshold of 36°F before the heating turns on again automatically. Bio Diagram illustrates how green heaters prevent this unneeded heating up by minimizing the switching disparity. Energy is significantly saved as a result. As a result, as experts in greenhouses, we have created a variety of heaters that have several key benefits: 460 m3/h of high ventilation rate. the fan’s position. Even in the heat, the entire greenhouse’s air can be circulated by turning on the fan setting. The greenhouse can be more airy with the window open and the fan on.
This manual is intended for the Palma RAW and Palma. The Palma RAW consists of an air circulation heater. The Palma consists of the air circulation heater and a wet room thermostat Thermol. The electric air circulation heater Palma and Palma RAW serves to control the temperature of greenhouses and conservatories.

WARNING! Do not insert any objects into the openings on the device as this risks injury, electric shock or damage to the device.
This heater is for use on 110VAC, 50/60Hz.
WARNING! Never try to operate the device using a different voltage. The cord has a plug as shown at A in below figure. An adapter as shown at C is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.
Now insert the mains plug into the socket of the Thermo 2(5) or, if operating without the Thermo 2, directly into the mains socket (6).
WARNING! Never insert or remove the power plug with wet hands. When using a multiple socket or an extension cable please ensure that the maximum current carrying capacity is not exceeded. Cable drums must always be completely unrolled. Do not wrap the connection cable around the de- vice and never operate the device with wound cable. Never pull the power cord itself; only remove the plug from the socket holding the grips on the mains plug.
To set the Palma RAW to wintermode, see section 4.2. To set the Palma to wintermode, see section 4.3.
TO SET THE SUMMER MODE, SEE SECTION 4.4.
USE THE PALMA AND PALMA RAW
4.1 GENERAL OPERATION
The Palma air circulation heater is fitted with a selector switch and a thermostat. Use the selector switch to choose one of the 3 possible operating modes. Set the desired room temperature using the thermostat. An integrated operation lamp indicates heating operation (7).
4.2 USE THE PALMA RAW IN WINTER MODE
Select position 3 as the mode on the selector switch and set the thermostat to maximum. The operation lamp will light up when the Palma 2.0 RAW starts with heating (8).
Check the room temperature using a thermometer (9) .
When the desired room temperature is reached then slowly turn the thermostat in an anticlockwise direction until the operation lamp switches off (10).
The heater will now maintain the set temperature by re-starting the heating function when the room temperature falls below this level. In the event of temperature discrepancies you may need to adjust this a little.
PLEASE NOTE! Unfortunately it is not possible to print a temperature scale on the thermostat switch as behavior will differ depending on size, insulation, filling level and location of each greenhouse.
4.3 USE THE PALMA IN WINTER MODE
Set the desired room temperature on the wet room thermostat Thermo 2 (11). The setting can be found in the Thermo 2 operating instructions.
Select position 3 as the mode on the selector switch. And set the heater thermostat to the maximum setting (12).
The wet room thermostat Thermo 2 will now take over temperature regulation and the Palma heater will be switched on if the room temperature falls below the set level. If the temperature is reached then the heater will switch off again.
4.4 USE THE PALMA AND PALMA RAW IN SUMMER MODE
PLEASE NOTE! The Thermo 2 is not required for summer operation. Just plug the Palma heater directly into a mains socket. In the summer months use of the air circulation mode can achieve substantial reduction of the greenhouse temperature.
Select mode 2 on the selector switch of the Palma heater and open the door or the roof window on your greenhouse (13). The position of the thermostat switch is irrelevant here.
The greenhouse air that is heated by the sun is constantly circulated by the air circulation mode and thus moved outside. At the same time this measure regulates the humidity in the greenhouse and promotes the pollination of your plants.
4.5 SAFETY FEATURE
Temperature controlled circuit breaker: If the device overheats the temperature-controlled circuit breaker will switch the device off temporarily. To switch the device back on, turn the heater off for 5 to 10 minutes to cool down (14).
Another reason for the shutdown would be blockage of the intake or outlet opening.
- In this case please remove the corresponding objects (14). It could also be an indication that the ventilator has failed.
- In this case switch the heater off, remove the plug (15) and contact an authorized specialist to arrange repair.
WARNING! The casing heats up during operation. Install the in such a way that accidental contact is avoided. The device only cools slowly after it is switched off. Only transport it using the carrying handle that is designed for this purpose.
CLEANING, MAINTENANCE, ENVIRONMENT AND DISPOSAL
5.1 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Switch the device off before each cleaning and leave it to cool for approximately 30 minutes before beginning cleaning. Warning! Do not use any abrasive, caustic or cleaning materials. Clean the casing with a damp cloth (not wet), vacuum cleaner or feather duster.
5.2 ENVIRONMENT AND DISPOSAL
PLEASE NOTE! Only dispose of devices at a corresponding collection centre.
PLEASE NOTE! Only authorized specialists are permitted to carry out repairs on the device. Please contact the manufacturer or distributor in this regard.
WARNING! Incorrectly executed repairs can represent a hazard for the user and other persons.
The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage caused by frost, insufficient heating performance for the room dimensions or insufficient heat insulation.
FAQs
If the power is interrupted will the heater come back on when power come back on?****
I did not know the answer so I unplugged mine, waited a few minutes, & plugged back in. My Thermo2 controller went back to the setting I had entered. Don’t know about an extended power outage.
Will heater shut off after it has maintained the temperature set at?****
Yes, if you are using the thermostat it shuts on and off with the temperature you set. Without the thermostat the fan continues to run even when the heat is off.
How has anyone determined that the thermostat isn’t working? Have my temp set at 50 so it should be on – radio next to heater says 44…?****
I set mine at 70 degrees. I have other thermometer inside my green house (6 x 8) and the thermometer reads 3 – 5 degrees lower that the Palma Heater.
Can the thermostat be placed outside and if not how long are the cords?****
No I would not place it outside but if you do I would make sure that its covered. Unfortunately the cords are not as long as I expected them to be. Their shorter than 6 feet, probably around a 4 foot cord length.
Will this be safe in a greenhouse with a polyethylene material’s cover?****
Absolutely…can’t see why not. If the greenhouse is safe the heater is too.
What gauge extension cord can I used ro power source this from wall outlet outside??****
I do not recommend an extension cord but if you must use one 10 or 12 gauge. Mine runs either on fan or heat continuous and the chord would over heat if on an extension cord.
I want to run the heater at night and the cooler during the day without having to manually switch between the two every morning/night s this possible?****
You set the temperature for the minimum heat in the greenhouse and it stops heating once a higher temperature had been reached. Then the fan runs to circulate the air. It does not cool like an air conditioner would. You do not have to manually change from heat to fan only once you set it up.
Heater works when plugged into the wall but not when plugged into the thermostat. How do I get it to work? Thermostat turns on.****
I had to try it a few times to figure it out. But make sure you have on heat, you can tell by which light is lit up, set your temp with the up and down buttons and put the sensor in a good spot to get an accurate temp. Plug the heater into the plug on the thermostat and turn it on to the heater setting and turn the fan all the way on by turning the dial. Then when it gets to below the temp you set, be patient for a minute or 2, it’s not instant, but mine works perfectly!
Can this be used as a garage heater in the winter?****
yes, I use it in a greenhouse. depending on how big you garage is it may not heat it entirely. My greenhouse has 2 large screens in it and I usually put plastic over them in the winter and it still stays warm.
will this heat an 8 x 10 lean to greenhouse with 10 mm polycarbonate walls and ceiling when external temps go to 5 degrees F?****
Find a BTU calculator website on line, that’s what I did.
Can the temperature be set. And used in a duck house?****
The temperature can be set. Do an internet search on “Instructions for Biogreen Palma 1.5 KW Greenhouse Heater” and you will find all the details. I’d guess it’s OK to use in a duck house, but read all the instructions first so you can be sure.
what is your return policy?****
I don’t have a return policy.
I would like to know, in the payment of the light it is cheap or the bill goes up a lot****
Mine did not increase at all.
Would this heat a small 4x3x8 2” foam board enclosure? I’m in northern MN where it gets to the negatives and want to prevent my pipes from freezing****
I don’t think I would try it- I am in the south with moderate temps and occasional freezes and I don’t find that this heater puts out much heat. If I have several freezing days in a row, I will be using supplemental heat.
My green house is about 250 square ft. Would using 2 of these heaters do the trick?****
We have a similar sized space and one heater got it warm very quickly. With the spring temp coming in 2 heaters might be overkill.
