Product Information

The RC Weather Station Transparent is a multi-functional weather station that provides information on indoor temperature, humidity, and time. It consists of a display unit (Basisstation) and a wireless sensor for monitoring outdoor conditions. The station is equipped with various buttons for setting alarms, snooze functions, and channel selection.

Usage Instructions

Powering the Base Station:

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert four Micro-Batteries (1.5V, Typ AAA/LR03) into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Powering the Wireless Sensor:

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover of the sensor.
  2. Insert the required batteries with correct polarity.
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Connecting Wireless Sensors:

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover of the sensor.
  2. Place the sensor near the base station to establish a connection.
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Automatic Time Setting:
If the station receives the time signal successfully, date and time will be set automatically with a reception symbol displayed. If no signal is received, manual time setting is required.

Manual Time Setting:
In case the automatic time setting fails, you can manually set the date and time using the provided buttons on the station.

FAQ

  • How often should I replace the batteries?
    Battery replacement frequency depends on usage but it’s recommended to replace them when low battery indicators appear on the display.

  • Can I use rechargeable batteries with the weather station?
    It is recommended to use non-rechargeable Micro-Batteries (1.5V, Typ AAA/LR03) for optimal performance.

Setting up power supply

Base station

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure that the battery polarity (+/-) is correct.
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover.
  4. Wait until the indoor temperature is displayed on the base station.

Remote sensor

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure that the battery polarity (+/-) is correct.
  3. Push the CH button to set the desired transmission channel (setting CH1, CH2, CH3 or channel cycle) (onscreen display).
  4. Push the °C/°F button to set the desired temperature format (setting °C or °F on screen display).
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Connecting remote sensors

The weather station can display the readings from up to 3 wireless sensors* of the same type. Each wireless sensor must be set to a separate channel. Proceed as follows to set the channel.

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover of the wireless sensor.
  2. Slide the channel selection slide switch to the position for the desired channel (1, 2 or 3). If only one sensor is used, we recommend channel 1.
  3. Reattach the battery compartment cover.
  4. Press the [CH] button on the base station several times to display the measured values for the individual channels. The selected channel is shown in the display.
  5. Press [CH] button for about 3 seconds to reset the values and search for a wireless sensor (RF signal).

Automatic time setting

  • After the power has been restored, the unit automatically searches for the radio signal. It takes approximately 38 minutes for this process to be completed.
  • If the radio signal is received correctly, the date and time are set automatically and the reception symbol is displayed.
  • If no radio signal has been received, proceed as follows:
    1. Press the UP button for approx. 2 seconds to initiate the reception of the radio signal again.
    2. Press the UP button for approx. 2 seconds to initiate the reception of the radio signal again.
    3. If still no radio signal is received, the time must be set manually.

Manual time setting

  1. Press and hold SET button for approx. 2 seconds to change to time setting mode.
  2. Digits to be set are flashing.
  3. Press UP or DOWN button to change the value.
  4. Press SET button to confirm and continue to the next setting.
  5. Settings order: Year > Month > Day > Time zone > 12/24 hour mode > Hours > Minutes
  6. Finally press the SET button to save the settings and exit the setting mode.

Time zone setting

If this weather station is to be used in an area where the UTC time standard is used (e.g. parts of the UK and Portugal), the time zone can be set manually to 1h UTC. To do this, follow the next steps.

  1. Press and hold the SET button for about 2 seconds to switch to time setting mode.
  2. The year digits flash.
  3. Sequence of settings: Year > Month > Day > Time zone > 12/24 hour mode > Hours > Minutes.
  4. Press the SET button until the time zone setting flashes.
  5. Press the DOWN button to change the value to 1.
  6. Press the SET button repeatedly until the time setting mode is completed.

Alarm setting

  1. Press Press ALARM button to show the alarm time.
  2. Press and hold ALARM button for approx. 2 seconds to change to alarm time setting mode.
  3. Digits to be set are flashing.
  4. Press UP or DOWN button to change the value.
  5. Press ALARM button to confirm and continue to the next setting.
  6. Settings order: Hours > Minutes
  7. Finally press the ALARM button to save the settings and exit the setting mode.
  8. Press SET button to activate the alarm. The symbol will be displayed. The alarm is activated.
  9. Press SET button again to disable the alarm. The symbol will not be displayed. The alarm is disabled.

Snooze function

  1. When the alarm sounds, press SNZ button to activate the snooze function. The alarm will sound again in 5 minutes.
  2. Press any other button when the alarm sounds to interrupt the alarm until the alarm time will be reached again.

Receiving measurements automatically

Once batteries are installed, the base station will display the measurement readings. Readings from the remote sensor will be displayed within 3 minutes after powering it on.

Manual measurement display

  1. Press UP button several times to display the saved values one after another.
  2. Display order: Current values > MAX (highest values) > MIN (lowest values)
  3. Press UP button for approx. 2 seconds during highest or lowest value display to irrevocable delete all saved values.
    NOTICE!  Saved highest and lowest values will be deleted automatically every day on 0:00!

Weather trend

The weather station will calculate a weather trend for the next 12 hours on basis of the measured values. It will be displayed as follows:

Temperature alarm setting

  1. In normal time display mode, press DOWN button for approx. 2 seconds to enter temperature alarm time setting mode.
  2. Digits to be set are flashing.
  3. Settings order: ON/OFF (Temperature alarm on/off) > Temperature highest limit > Temperature lowest limit > Exit
  4. Press UP or DOWN button to change the value.
  5. Press SET button to confirm and continue to the next setting.
  6. The temperature settings mode will be quit automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity. All settings done before will be saved.
  7. When outdoor temperature reaches highest or lowest limit, the temperature alarm symbol will flash and an alarm will sound for approx. 3 seonds. This will be repeated with an interval of 1 minute until the temperature has fallen below the limit again.
    NOTICE! Select temperature alarm OFF from the temperature settings mode to disabled the temperature alarm permanently.

Disposal

  • Dispose of the packaging materials according to its type. Information on proper disposal can be obtained from the municipal waste disposal service provider or environmental agency.
  • Do not dispose of electronic devices in the household garbage!
  • According to the European Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and its transposition into national law, used electrical equipment must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally sound manner.
  • Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries and accumulators and can return them after use either at our sales outlet or in the immediate vicinity (e.g. in the trade or in municipal collection points) free of charge.
  • Batteries and accumulators are marked with a crossed-out dustbin and the chemical symbol of the pollutant, “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Hg” stands for mercury and “Pb” stands for lead.
