Important Information

Note:

The underground wire locator is ideal for users to trace low voltage cables. It is not recommended that unqualified people use this equipment to trace cables that are above 32 Volts.

Product Introduction

Noyafa underground wire tracer can help Locating & tracking buried and hidden wires, quickly and accurately locate the break-point and direction of underground and wall-through cables. Detect and repair broken cables by yourself, time and money saver.

It can be used to buried sprinkler valve, wire tracker, dog fence wire break locator, ducts, invisible fence wire break locator, walls buried wire tracer, electrical wire tracer, network cable tester, electric fence tester, etc.

Do not use on live circuits to avoid damaging the Tester! Underground wire tracer is only to locate a non-energized Cable. for single-core or double-core wire, NOT FOR multi-core wire and bundled wires and stranded wire.

Main features

How to use

  1. Push the transmitter switch to “Cable Scan” and turn the dial switch to High Tone.
  2. Connect one of the transmitter’s alligator clips to the cable, and connect the other one to an independent ground using a grounding stake or screwdriver, orto an independent ground using a grounding conductor of an unshielded lead-in wire. ml
  3. Swing the receiver antenna close to the ground and about 10-15 feet away from the transmitter position. (You will hear tones on either side of the path, with a null directly over the path)
  4. Proceed along the path in the zero direction and adjust the transmitter and receiver for longer distances.
  5. Once the path is determined, mark the ground at the zero point on the path.
  6. Angle the receiver antenna 45 degrees from the ground and move away from the wire path at a right angle until another null point is found. Mark this point. (Fig.01)
  7. The distance between the two marks is the approximate depth of the wire.

Note:

For single-core or double-core wire:

Red alligator clips is the signal line, Black alligator clips is used to connect the ground or neutral line or unloaded.

For shielded wire and multi-stranded wire:

  • A: Unable to determine break-point due to signal interference, but line direction can be tested.
  • B: If it is the direction of the shielded wire detection line, the red clip should grip the shielding layer.

How to use

How to properly install the battery?(Only for NF-817)

You need to organize the battery line and put them on the front of the battery, PLEASE DO NOT put the battery line on top.

How to Enhance the Signal?

To enhance the signal you can make the ground stud and connect it. (Screw knives or metal slices can be used as a medium for ground studs

How to find the wire locates?

Turn on the receiver and swing it back and forth. You will hear the sound “bi bi bi”; When approaching the breakpoint, the tone will weaken and then disappear. If the tone disappears. It means the breakpoint is at this location.

External Earphones

Equipped a pair of earphones that can be connected to the receiver earphone jack to improve efficiency in a noisy environment .(Fig.02)
