  2. Wipe the cooking plates with a sponge or damp cloth and warm water.
  3. Do not immerse the unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Dry the appliance with a cloth or paper towel. For best results, lightly coat the cooking plates with a little cooking oil or cooking spray.
  5. NOTE When your appliance is heated for the first time, it may emit a small amount of smoke or a slight odor. This is normal and poses no safety risk.

OPERATING

  • INSTRUCTIONS PREPARING YOUR GRILL
    1. Insert the plug into an electrical outlet. The red power light will illuminate.
    2. To preheat the grill, first, set the thermostat to the required temperature.
    3. Set the timer; the working light will illuminate. This indicates the appliance has started to work. The preheating time depends on the thermostat setting.
    4. When the working light goes off, the preset temperature has been reached, and the appliance is ready for use.

    • NOTE : During cooking, the working indicator light will cycle on and off while the thermostat maintains the appliance at the right temperature.

USE AS A PRESS GRILL

  1. After preheating, open the appliance and place the panini, sandwich, or other food items on the lower cooking plate.
  2. Close the appliance. Note: If you want a compressed cooking result, press the handle with force.
  3. When the preset time has passed, the appliance will emit a DING sound. Use the handle to open the lid. Remove the food items using the plastic spatula.   Never use metal tongs or a knife as these can damage the non-stick coating of the cooking plates.
  4. Once you are finished, unplug the appliance, and leave the unit open to cool.

USE AS AN OPEN GRILL

  1. The upper and lower cooking plates of the appliance can line up to create a large, double-sized cooking surface. Using the appliance as an open grill is a versatile cooking option.
  2. Place the appliance on a clean, flat surface.
  3. With your left hand on the handle, use your right hand to slide the hinge-release lever toward you. Push the handle back until the cover rests flat on the counter. The unit will remain in this position until you lift the handle and lid to return it to the closed position.
  4. You can use the open grill option to cook burgers, steak, poultry (we do not recommend cooking bone-in chicken using this method as it does not cook evenly on an open grill), fish, and vegetables.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • A. Always unplug the grill and allow it to cool before cleaning. The unit is easier to clean when slightly warm. Never immerse the grill unit in water or place it in a dishwasher.
  • B. The cooking plates can be cleaned in water.

TO REMOVE THE COOKING PLATES

  • Always unplug the grill and allow it to cool before removing the cooking plates.

  • Open the grill and adjust it to the flat position.

  • Locate the plate release buttons on the front of the unit and firmly squeeze on the button. The plate will pop up slightly from the base. Grasp the plate with two hands, slide it out of the metal brackets, and lift it out of the base.
Remove the other cooking plate in the same manner

  • C. Wipe the cooking plates with a soft cloth to remove food residue. For baked-on food residue, squeeze some warm water mixed with detergent over the food residue, then clean with a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad or place a wet kitchen paper over the grill to moisten the food residue.

  • D. Do not use anything abrasive that can scratch or damage the non-stick coating.

  • E. Do not use metal utensils to remove food items; they can damage the non-stick surface.

  • F. Wipe the outside of the grill toaster with a damp cloth only. Do not clean the outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool, as this will damage the finish.

  • G. Remove and empty the drip tray after each use and wash the tray in warm, soapy water. Avoid the use of scouring pads or harsh detergents as they may damage the surface of the tray. Rinse and dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth before replacing it.

  • H. Always unplug the appliance and ensure it is cool and dry before storage.
