PRODUCT USE
General Information
The Steam Cleaner is designed to thoroughly clean surfaces.
Tip: To disinfect a specific area, position the steamer over the area for a minimum of eight seconds. The steam temperature will reach approximately 90-100°C. Use this procedure to disinfect floors in bathrooms, showers, and kitchens.
WARNINGS:
- When cleaning sealed lacquered floors, take extra caution. Test first on an inconspicuous area to order to avoid scratching and damage to floors.
- On surfaces that have been treated with wax, the wax may be removed by heat and steam action. Do not use it on unsealed wood floors or leave the unit standing on a wood floor for an extended time. This could cause the wood grain to rise. When using it on vinyl, linoleum, or any other heat-sensitive floors, take extra caution. Too much heat can melt down the glue in the flooring. It is recommended you test the mop on an inconspicuous area before completing a full clean. It is also recommended that you check the use and care instructions of the surface from the floor manufacturer to ensure suitability for steam cleaning.
- The Steam Cleaner uses tap water. If you live in a hard water area, we recommend using distilled water for better performance.
- Before using the Steam Cleaner on any floors, we recommend vacuuming them first to ensure no debris on the floor could cause damage.
Assembling the Steam Cleaner
-
Attach the mop head to the main body as follows: Press the lock button (on the swivel joint) and insert the swivel joint into the designated hole in the main body until it locks in place with the lock button on the swivel joint.
-
Assemble the handle and insert it down into the body until it locks in place with the lock button on the main body (you will hear a clicking sound).
-
Attach the cloth pad to the mop head.
WARNING:- Do not operate without the cloth in place.
-
When using the Steam Cleaner on carpets, place the mop and cloth into the carpet glider.
WARNING:
Do not use the carpet glider on hard floors or other surfaces.
Filling the Water Tank
Hold the Steam Cleaner at a 45° angle, open the water tank cover, and add the water to the tank. When filling water to the water tank, always use the measuring cup so to prevent water from spilling onto the Steam Cleaner, which may cause damage to electrical components.
Optional: If desired, you can add cleaning detergent (150ML) to the carpet glider accessory in the reservoir provided for that purpose (Please check page 33 for the detergent tank, part W)
WARNING:
- Do not fill more than 280 ml of water into the water tank.
- If water accidentally has run down the Steam Cleaner while the tank is being filled, the Steam Cleaner must not be connected to power until it is completely dry.
- Do not add cleaning detergents, solutions, alcohol, fragrances, oil, or any other chemicals to the water used in the Steam Cleaner as it may damage the product and make it unsafe to use.
- Cleaning agents should only be added to the designated resevoirs on the attachments.
- Only use tap water or distilled water to fill the tank.
- Cleaning agents may only be added to the designated reservoir (see drawing on page 8, part W). This depends on the attachment used. Not every attachment has a detergent reservoir.
- Not every cleaning agent can be used in the cleaning agent reservoir. Before use, check that the agent works with the steamer.
Using the Steam Cleaner
-
Once the unit has been fully assembled and filled with water, plug it into the mains.
-
Select the ON (I) position on the power switch. After approximately 20 seconds, the Steam Cleaner will start emitting steam. To stop emitting steam, turn the power switch to the OFF (O) Position.
NOTE:
It is normal for a small amount of water to leave the head before the steam starts emitting. -
Use the Steam Cleaner in a normal mopping motion.
Optional: Use the detergent dispenser button (on the carpet glider) during cleaning to spray additional detergent on the floor.
CAUTION:
To sanitize an area of your floor, hold the Steam Cleaner over the area for a minimum of 8 seconds, but no longer than 15 seconds. Leaving the Steam Mop in a stationary position for a longer period than recommended may cause the build-up of a pale residue. This residue can be removed by using a decalcifying product or with a few drops of vinegar (see the chapter “TROUBLESHOOTING”).
WARNING:
The steam emitted from the Steam Cleaner is very hot and may cause scalding. Always use caution when using the Steam Cleaner. To reduce the risk of scalds and burns:- Do not touch any of the attachments while the Steam Cleaner is in use.

CLEANING
For the best performance drain any remaining water in the tank and clean the tank after every use.
General Cleaning Advice
- Always unplug the device from the mains socket and let it cool down before cleaning.
- A slightly moist or dry cloth is recommended for cleaning the exterior of the Steam Cleaner. Dry with a soft cloth.
- Be careful not to put too much pressure on the power switch while cleaning.
- Do not immerse the Steam Cleaner in water or any other liquids. It is not allowed to rinse the device with water, to prevent the water from leaking into the electrical circuit and causing malfunctions.
- Under no circumstances use aggressive cleanings agent, cleaning alcohol, or other chemical solutions since these can penetrate the housing or impair functionality.
- Do not use abrasive objects for cleaning.
- Cleaning must not be performed by children.
Descaling
Descaling your water tank:
To clean calcium deposits that build up inside the water tank, add one or two
tablespoons of white vinegar to a full water tank, close the water tank cap,
and shake the contents. DO NOT TURN THE STEAMER ON. Let the unit sit for a
few hours.
Empty the water tank and refill it with clean water and empty it until it
rinses clear.
Removing limescale build-up from the steamer:
If the steam reduces or stops the most likely cause is a build-up of limescale, even if you do not live in a hard water area, we recommend descaling the steamer every 15-25 uses. The frequency of limescale removal depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the Steam Cleaner.
- Prepare a solution of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 tap water and add it to the water tank.
- Secure and position the steamer to ensure the steam released is aimed away from the floor or any objects. Plug in and press the power switch (O/I) and allow the unit to produce steam until the vinegar/water solution is used up. General Cleaning Advice Descaling
- Repeat the above procedure as many times as necessary until a normal steam flow rate is achieved.
- Fill the water tank with fresh water, and release steam through the system until the water tank is empty
Note: Descaling kits can also be used on this appliance, please follow the same instructions.
Microfiber Cloth Care
- Machine wash the microfiber cloth after use at 60 degrees.
- Do not bleach.
- Do not use fabric softener.
- Do not tumble dry.
MAINTENANCE & SERVICE
- Apart from cleaning and descaling, the Steam Cleaner is maintenance-free.
- You may not reconstruct, self-repair, or disassemble the Steam Cleaner.
- Check regularly for damage and severe wear.
WARNINGS:
- Do not attempt to open the Steam Cleaner for maintenance. Removing the housing or improper reassembly may cause electric shocks, damage, short circuit, or fire.
- If for any reason you open the housing, the warranty will become null and void. The Steam Cleaner contains no user-serviceable parts.
- Maintenance, service, and repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer, a professional workshop appointed by the manufacturer, or a similarly qualified person. To obtain maintenance or service, contact us first at our e-mail address info@strex.nl.
