the adjustable bolts on the back of the molded deck covers (I) with the
provided Allen keys.
The belt is aligned when it runs parallel with the board when it is in motion.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Maintenance and inspection should be done before every use. If there is any visible damage, a strong odor, or excessive overheating of components, stop using the product.
- Maintenance and inspection should be done on a frequent basis. Non-frequent maintenance shortens the activity and life span of the machinery and voids the warranty.
- The maintenance schedule below is for indicative purposes only. The frequency of inspection and maintenance tasks may need to be increased depending on the use of the machinery.
- Use the Allen keys provided to align and tension the walking belt.
- When not in use, the product should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Cleaning
- Wipe the product with a slightly damp cloth after every use.
- Always clean the product with a soft cloth and mild cleaning agent.
- Aggressive cleaning agents shorten the life of components considerably. Do not use them.
- Dry the product after cleaning.
- Carry out any cleaning and maintenance regularly or as needed.
Lubrication
- Lubricate regularly, especially if the belt runs less smoothly than normal or if a squeaking sound is heard during operation.
- Lubrication frequency should be increased depending on the use of the machine.
- Only use the Silicon Oil provided with the Backwards Treadmill as lubrication.
- Check the instructions in Chapter 6, Preparation, on how to apply lubricant.
Aligning the walking belt
- If the belt is not running properly, alignment of the belt is recommended.
- After heavy use, aligning the belt is recommended for optimal performance.
- If the walking belt is not properly aligned or tightened, it can lead to uneven wear on the belt, decreased performance, and potential safety hazards for the user during workouts.
- Check the instructions in Chapter 6, Preparation, on how to align the walking belt.
Tensioning the walking belt
- After heavy use, tensioning the belt for optimal performance is recommended.
- Over the product’s life, the walking belt might loosen. If the belt is loose, the user may slip during use.
- If the belt is too tight, it creates more friction between the deck and the belt.
- The recommended belt tension is 2-3 inches (50-75 mm) from the deck.
To tension the walking belt:
- Turn the left and right adjustable bolt (J)(K) one full turn clockwise.
- Check the tension of the running belt.
- Repeat this process until the belt has the correct tension. Be sure to tighten both sides equally to keep the belt aligned.
