INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Before installing cylinder heads for final assembly:
STEP 1: Loosely assemble and check for interference between the exterior
head studs and exhaust header(s).
STEP 2: Install studs into block and torque to 3-5 lb ft.
STEP 3: Install head gasket.
STEP 4: Install cylinder heads.
STEP 5: Install washers (10 per side).
STEP 6: Lubricate ½”-20 thread with engine oil (lightly).
STEP 7: Install nuts (10 per side).
STEP 8: Torque in 3 steps:
- Tighten all nuts in sequence to 35 lb ft +/- 5.
- Tighten all nuts in sequence to 65 lb ft +/- 5.
- Tighten all nuts in sequence to 100 lb ft +/- 5.
