Configuration interface
Use the included serial configuration cable to connect the serial interface (COM) to the serial interface of the device you want to use for configuring / monitoring. -
Ethernet interface
Use the cable with the kiwi-colored connectors to connect one of the interfaces ETH1 to ETH4 to your PC or a LAN switch. -
USB interface
You can use the USB interface to connect a compatible USB cellular modem, a USB printer or a USB flash drive for device configuration. -
Power switch and power connector (device back side)
Supply power to the device via the supplied power cable. -
Use the power switch to turn the device on or off.
Please observe the following when setting up the device
- The mains plug of the device must be freely accessible.
- For devices to be operated on the desktop, please attach the adhesive rubber footpads
- Do not rest any objects on top of the device
- Ensure that the ventilation slots at the back remain unobstructed
- Mount the device into a 19” unit in a server cabinet using the provided screws and mounting bracket
**** Unplug the power plug from the power socket to ensure that the device is completely separated from the power supply!

Off: Device switched off
Green, permanently: Device operational
Green / orange, blinking: Configuration password not set. Without a password the device’s configuration data is unprotected.
Red, blinking: Charge or time limit reached -
Fan
Green, permanently: CPU temperature OK
Orange, permanently: CPU temperature > 55°
Red, blinking: Hardware failure of the fan or CPU temperature > 60°; additional acoustic signal -
COM
Off: No session logged on for the serial configuration interface
Green, permanently: Serial configuration session logged on
Orange, flickering: Data transmission during the configuration session -
WLAN
Red, permanently: The LANCOM WLAN controller is not yet operational; one of the following elements is missing:- Root certificate
- Device certificate
- Current time
- Entropy for the DTLS encryption
Green, permanently: At least one active access point connected and authenticated.
Red, blinking: The device is operational but not connected to an active access point.

Interfaces
ETH| 4 individual ports for 10 / 100 / 1000-Mbps Ethernet, Ethernet ports can
be electrically disabled in the LCOS configuration. Each Ethernet port can be
freely configured (LAN, WAN, monitor port, off). LAN ports operate in bridge
mode or isolated. Additionally, external DSL modems or termination routers can
be operated at the WAN port together with policy-based routing.
USB| USB 2.0 Hi-Speed host port for connecting USB printers (USB print
server), serial devices (COM-port servers), USB data media (FAT file system),
or supported mobile radio USB modems; bi-directional data transfer available.
Serial Interface| Serial configuration interface / COM port (8-pin Mini DIN):
9,600 – 115,000 baud, suitable for optional connection of analog / GPRS
modems. Supports the internal COM-port server.
WAN protocols
Ethernet| PPPoE, Multi-PPPoE, ML-PPP, PPTP (PAC or PNS) and plain Ethernet
