IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
For your protection, read carefully before proceeding with installation. To be installed by a qualified electrician. Heavy duty gloves should be worn to protect hands from sharp edges. Protective eye wear should be worn to prevent injury to eyes.
- Electric current can cause painful shock, serious injury, or death. For your safety, always remember the following:

- Ground the fixture to avoid potential electrical
- Do not handle an energized
- Check all electrical connections to be sure they are tight and

- Match wattage of fixture and lamp

- Make sure appropriate trim and rough-in are used. Match labels on both fixture and

CAUTION: RISK OF FIRE
Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated 60°c. Consult a
qualified electrician before installation.

INSTALLATION
This unit can be installed in a TYPE IC or TYPE NON-IC installation:
TYPE IC : Where the rough-in section is in direct contact with insulation.
Match trims listed on IC portion of the fixture label for IC installations.
Remove the peel off label on top of the housing stating not to install
insulation within 3 inches (76mm) of any side of the fixture (See Figure 1).
L3R and L7XR only.
TYPE NON-IC : Where no insulation is placed over the top or within 3 inches
(76mm) of the sides of the rough-in section. Match trims listed on the NON-IC
portion of the fixture label for NON-IC installations.
This product is Air Tight and conforms to maximum air leak rate of less than
2.0 CFM as tested per ASTM E-283 method. Product must be sealed to ceiling
surface to eliminate all air paths into space above. The gap between the
drywall edge and the edge of the recessed fixture must be sealed by the
installer using drywall compound (not provided) or silicone caulking (not
provided) rated for a minimum of 90 degree C to seal the gap

WIRING
Make certain all power is disconnected prior to installing the fixture. Open
the snap-on junction box captive door and remove the appropriate pry-out with
screwdriver. Built in Romex clamps are accessible through the Romex pry-outs
(See Figure 3). Bring supply wires into box by shielded cable or Romex cable.
Make all connections inside the junction box. Connect 120V hot wire to the
black wire. Connect the neutral wire to the white wire. Connect the ground
wire to the bare copper wire. This fixture should be wired in accordance with
the NEC and applicable local codes and ordinances
