Device was provided with a SIM card already installed and free service for two days. After then, service is available for a reasonable cost of $15.00 every quarter or $50 paid in advance annually. HOW GPS TRACKERS WORK

FAQs

Is 2g still available, i live in rural area in north Florida? Is there a coverage map anywhere?

As of today, 2G networks are still available in the United States, AT&T will retire 2G in 2017, T-Mobile will retire 2G in 2020. So, if you have T-Mobile coverage in the area you live in, then it will remain until 2020 according to their announcement.

Does this work outside of the us (specifically la paz, bolivia), how much would it be for international coverage?

Yes, this locator works worldwide anywhere GSM cellular coverage exists. There are no roaming fees. Device shipped with an installed SIM card and includes 2 days of service at no cost. Annual subscription renewal price changes from 1 September, 2016 to $50 per year or $15.00 / quarter.

I would be using it on a 5 year-old. Is there an attachment mechanism such as belt clips or lanyard? also, is this device waterproof or resistant?

We do not offer accessories for this product. The unit can be placed discreetly out of sight i.e. in the school bag. This device is not waterproof and not water resistant.

So how long is the extended battery life? does it only require power from the battery when the i.e. vehicle is moving? i am considering spytec 300

It is a portable device with built in 3000mAh battery. The battery will last 5-7 days depending on usage/number of location requests.  Please note that this device can be located only when requested from myAspenta app or once the help button was pressed. If the cell phone networks are 4G does this work?

It has a 2G modem only, so it only works where there is 2G coverage.

Does the device track where it has been?

Location history is saved for 90 days. Please note that the location data is refreshed on the map for limited time only – this device transmits location every 30 seconds for 5 consecutive minutes once requested by user from myAspenta app. Location is also updated once the help button was pushed. This device is not designed for continuous monitoring.

Can I use it to track a lost horse?

How long does the battery last??

The battery life depends on how many times you use the locate or the help feature on the device, as well as if the device is searching for a GPS/GSM signal or if it is connected. Powered on and ready to use, the device will last up to 5 days before needing to be recharged.

Does this work outside of the us? we’ll be traveling around Asia for a bit and i want to keep track of my 7 year old who likes to wander off.

it does not work in Korea and Japan as there is no GSM network over there, all other places it should work if there is GSM coverage.

I don’t want the user to know about the tracker. what is the sos for?

The device can be placed discreetly out of sight i.e. in the seat pocket in the car or in the school bag. Please make sure the device is not surrounded by metal. The SOS/Help button can be used to check-in or ask for help from friends & family. Pressing the button sends SOS/help notification to predefined contacts by email and SMS.

My android phone (Samsung galaxy s4) is 4g/cdma. since it is not gsm, would this tracker work for me?

Yes, the Vectu locator is an independent device with its own SIM. You can view location of the device via the free myAspenta app for iOS (7.0 and above) and Android (2.3 and above) or on the web at myAspenta.com.

Would this work if it is locked in a standard gun safe?

If your mobile phone receives enough of a cellular signal within the safe, then the Tracker should also connect with GPS too.
