  • Read all instructions carefully
  • For Household Use only. Not intended for commercial use.
  • The Receiver is for use indoors.
  • To protect against the risk of electric shock, do not submerge any part of this appliance in water.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance, by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with this appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children.
  • Never let children push anything into holes or slots in the cabinet or casing – this could result in an electric shock.
  • Should you find the sensitivity or quality of sound deteriorating, replace all old batteries with new ones as soon as possible. The use of long-life alkaline batteries is recommended.
  • Dispose of used batteries carefully and by local government guidelines.

LOCATION OF CONTROLS

A – Chime Replay Button
Pressing this button will repeat the current chime or melody. This button is also used for programming the MIP™ network.

B – Chime Selection Button
Press the chime selection button repeatedly to cycle through the 32 melodies to find the chime of your choice. This button is also used to programme the MIP™ system.

C – Variable Volume Control
Press the variable volume button repeatedly to cycle through the 3 different volume settings.

D – Strobe
Flashing strobes are helpful for the hearing impaired, providing a visual cue when visitors are at the door.

E – Speaker
The speaker outputs the chime or melody audio loudly to indicate that a visitor is at the door.

F – Wall Mounting Holes
Hang the door chime in various locations around the home that are best suited to your needs.

G – Battery Compartment
Requires 2 x ‘AA’ Batteries (Not Included)

H – Built-in Clip (back)
Clip the door chime to your belt or pockets for greater portability around the home or garden. 1 – Bell Push Use the fixtures and fittings provided to position the Bell Push next to the front or back door. Bell Push Requires: 1 x A23 Battery (Included)

MIP™ SYSTEM
This Door Chime can automatically learn the frequency of other MiP ™ System modules including additional Bell Push transmitters and Door Chime receivers. This is useful if you wish to use more than one Bell Push or Door Chime or require a replacement for either. This MIP Door Chime kit is already pre- programmed for use straight out of the packaging. Remember to remove the battery tag inside the Bell Push transmitter before use. In the unlikely event that this kit does not operate, follow the Factory Resetting and Reprogramming instructions that are shown later in this manual.

OPERATION

MOUNTING THE DOOR CHIME

  1. SLIDE open the battery door cover located at the back of the unit.
  2. INSERT 2×1.5 VI DC ‘AA’ size batteries (not included), ensuring the battery polarity MATCHES the internal marking. Replace the battery cover.
  3. This unit can be carried around the HOUSE or GARDEN or can be placed in any convenient location.
  4. To mount the door chime, HANG the unit on a screw using the keyhole on the back.

INSTALLING THE BELL PUSH

  1. PRY OPEN the bell and push the unit to reveal the battery.
  2. REMOVE the PLASTIC TAB located at the battery connector and DISCARD it safely. The bell push will not work if the tab is not removed.
  3. INSERT 1x 12v DC A23 battery (included), ENSURING the battery polarity matches the internal marking.
  4. REPLACE the cover and PRESS to LOCK into place SECURELY.
  5. Mount the bell push into an UPRIGHT position onto a wall or doorframe using the fixtures and fittings provided.

CHIME SELECTION
Press the chime selection button repeatedly to cycle through the list of 32 melodies until you find a chime that you enjoy. The door chime will play that melody each time the bell push is activated.

CHIME REPLAY
During playback, press the chime replay button again to start the current melody from the beginning.

VOLUME CONTROL
Press the volume button repeatedly to cycle through the 3 different volume settings until you find a suitable volume. The door chime will play the chosen melody at this volume each time the bell push is activated.

CAUTION
Listening at high volumes for long periods could damage the user’s ears.

Note: The battery can be used for one year. If the chime sounds distorted or faint, replace the old batteries with fresh ones.

IMPORTANT – This wireless Door chime has an operating distance of 150 metres, but local conditions and the number of walls may affect this. Metal door frames and other factors that interfere with the signal will reduce the operating distance. To extend this distance by another 150 meters use model B7890WH Signal Booster.

RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS
This may be required in certain circumstances such as incorrect programming of accessories or if faulty. There is no need to reset to factory default at any other time.

  1. SWITCH the power off by REMOVING the batteries.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the Chime Selection Button.
  3. STILL HOLDING the chime selection button, switch the power back on by INSERTING THE BATTERIES.
  4. CONTINUE tO HOLD the chime selection button for 10 SECONDS, after which the strobe will flash or an audible beep will sound, indicating that the memory is now clear and ready for programming.

To re-programme the MIP™ system, please continue to the ‘How to Programme’ section.

HOW TO PROGRAMME

Note: For easy programming, keep the bell push and reciever close together. This saves time and effort.

  1. On each receiver, PRESS and HOLD the chime selection button for 10 SECONDS. An audible beep beep will be heard. The receiver is now in a waiting mode.
  2. PRESS the bell push. An audible beep will be heard again from the receiver. The receiver is now being programmed.
  3. To exit the programming mode, PRESS the chime selection button again or WAIT a further 10 SECONDS until a beep beep is heard and the programming is finished.

Press the bell push after programming to test the receiver before placing in location. Up to 12 devices can be programmed together at any one time.

  • Note: If multiple receivers are used then each receiver must be programmed to each bell push individually.
  • Note: This is only compatible with products highlighting the MIP™ System.

CLEANING AND CARE

Wipe with a clean soft cloth only. Do not wash with detergent or use any form of solvent.

WEEE/ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
Do not dispose of this product with household waste. For the proper treatment, recovery and recycling please take this product to the appropriate waste collection point. If you are unsure where this may be, please contact your local authority. Improper disposal may be harmful to the environment.

PRODUCT END-OF-LIFE AND BATTERY DISPOSAL
The battery contains substances that may pollute the environment. At the end of the life of the product, always remove the battery and separate before you discard the product at your local waste collection point. Both battery and product should be disposed of separately. If you have trouble removing the battery, then you should contact a qualified technician or authorised service centre. Contact your local authority for details and locations of official waste collection points. Do not dispose of batteries or products with normal household waste.

REMOVING THE BATTERY FROM THE BELL PUSH

  1. REMOVE the Bell Push from the wall or fixture.
  2. PRY open the back panel of the Bell Push unit.
  3. REMOVE the A23 battery from the Bell Push unit.
  4. Dispose of the battery at an official collection point

REMOVING THE BATTERY FROM THE DOOR CHIME

  1. SLIDE OPEN the battery door cover located on the back or underside of the unit.
  2. REMOVE the Batteries from the Door Chime unit
  3. Dispose of the battery at an official collection point
