- supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with this appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Instruct the child not to try and recharge non-rechargeable batteries because of the danger of eruption.
- Examine the battery charger regularly for damage, especially the cord, plug and enclosure. If the battery charger is damaged, it must not be used until it has been repaired.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- This charger is intended for use with Nickel Cadmium and Nickel-Metal hydride batteries only.
- Charging other batteries may cause personal injury and damage to the charger.
- Observe correct polarity.

GUIDE TO CHAR.GiNG TIMES
To calculate the charging times, use the following formula:
Charging Time = Battery Capacity / Charging Rate
Examples
- (AA 1600mAh) 13.5hrs = 1600mAh / 120mA
- (AA 2100mAh) 17.5hrs = 2100mAh / 120mA
- (AAA 800mAh) 7hrs = 800mAh / 120mA
- (PP3 9v 250mAh) 13hrs = 250mAh / 20 mA
HOW TO USE
- This Charger will charge up to 4 x AA or AAA batteries (2 or 4 Batteries at a time).
- Both Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd batteries can be charged.
- Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) Batteries must be DISCHARGED before use to avoid memory defect.
- Always observe CORRECT POLARITY when inserting batteries.
- The Red LED Indicator will LIGHT UP to indicate that a battery has been inserted. It will not switch off when batteries are fully charged.
- ALWAYS calculate the charging time required using the formula shown in ‘GUIDE TO CHARGING TIMES’ section of this instruction manual BEFORE COMMENCING CHARGE.
- Do not charge longer than twice the maximum charging time. This may damage the batteries and cause them to leak.
WEEE/ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION
DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
Do not dispose of this product with household waste. For the proper treatment,
recovery and recycling please take this product to the appropriate waste
collection point. If you are unsure where this may be, please contact your
local authority. Improper disposal may be harmful to the environment.
PRODUCT END OF LIFE AND BATTERY DISPOSAL
The rechargeable battery contains substances that may pollute the environment.
At end of life for the product, always remove the battery and separate before
you discard the product at your local waste collection point. Both battery and
product should be disposed separately.
If you have trouble removing the battery, then you should contact a qualified
technician or authorised service centre.
Contact your local authority for details and locations of official waste
collection points. Do not dispose of batteries or product with normal
household waste.
