  • if the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent.

Do not use rechargeable batteries in this appliance.

DO NOT
Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries, alkaline or rechargeable batteries with different capacity together – they may leak.

  • Always turn the unit off, when not in use. Leaving it on will shorten the life of the batteries.
  • If you plan not to use the unit for a length of time, remove the batteries. Old batteries can leak and cause corrosion, damaging the unit.
  • Should you find the sensitivity or quality of sound deteriorating, replace all old batteries with new ones as soon as possible.
  • The use of long life alkaline batteries is recommended.
  • DON’T throw the battery in fire or dispose of in household waste. Consult your local authority in the correct way to dispose of unwanted batteries.
  • DON’T short-circuit the supply terminals of the batteries.
  • Always check the correct polarity when inserting batteries. Incorrect polarity can damage this unit.

TIME SETTING

Note: Ensure Radio is turned off.

  1. To enter TIME mode, short press the [TIME] button and LED display shows a flashing “24H”, then short
    press [12/24H] button to change between 12hr and 24hr mode. Press TIME again to save setting.

  2. Short press the [TIME] button twice to confirm to see the current time flashing, short press [HOUR] to set
    correct hour, short press [MIN] to set correct minute. Press [TIME] again to save setting.

SLEEP SETTING

Note: Ensure Radio is turned off.

  1. Short press [SLEEP] button to get into SLEEP mode. The radio will start to play and the SLEEP LED indicator will illuminate on the display.
  2. Short press the [SLEEP] button again will scroll though the time setting for the SLEEP function. Default is 120 minutes. Settings are: 120-110-100-90-80-70-60-50-40-30-20-10-OF

ALARM SETTING

Note: Ensure Radio is turned off.

  1. Press [AL 1] to enter programming mode. AL 1 LED indicator and clock will flash. Short press [HOUR] button to set hours and [MIN] button to set minutes. Press [AL 1] to confirm settings and AL 1 LED indicator will remain ON and the clock will stop flashing.
  2. To set Alarm Buzzer or Radio, Press [AL 1] to enter programming mode, then press [AL MODE] button to choose alarm mode “bb” buzzer or FM frequency. You cannot wake to AM Radio.
  3. To remove the Alarm setting, Press [AL OFF] button to turn off the alarm of the day temporarily while alarming, it alarms at the same time on the next day.
  4. If alarm is not stopped when activated, it will continue for 30 minutes and then turn itself off. This does not affect the alarm activation for the next day.
  5. Alarm buzzer will not activate if Radio is already on.
  6. To programme Alarm 2 [AL2] settings, follow procedure above but use [AL2] button instead of [AL 1] button.

To Turn Alarm Off when activated:
Press [SNOOZE] button to temporarily suspend the alarm and reactivate in a further 10 minutes. AL 1 or AL2 LED indicator will continue to flash whilst in SNOOZE mode. Press [AL OFF] button to stop Alarm for that day.
To remove the Alarm:

  1. To turn alarm 1 off – press [AL OFF] button then [AL 1], followed by [AL OFF] again then Alarm 1 and the AL 1 LED will go off.
  2. To turn alarm 2 off – press [AL OFF] button then [AL2], followed by [AL OFF] again then Alarm 2 and the AL2 LED will go off.

LED DIMMER

Note: Ensure Radio is turned off.
Press [DIMMER] button to set LED Clock brightness.
Settings are Bright, Normal or OFF
While the Dimmer button is in OFF mode, you will be unable to see the clock or use and functions. You must reset the DIMMER back on to Normal or Bright.

RADIO

Press and hold the [POWER] button for 3 seconds to turn on/off the radio.

  1. Tuning Radio and adjusting Volume
    The Alarm Clock Radio goes into FM radio waveband by default, the FM indicator on the display also illuminates.
    a. Short press the [Band] button to toggle between AM and FM radio wavebands. The LED Display will indicate AM or FM.
    b. Short press the [TUN+] button to search upward station, press and hold to speed up.
    c. Short press the [TUN-] button search downward station, press and hold to speed down.
    d. Short press the [VOL+] button to increase a volume level, press and hold to speed up increasing volume levels rapidly, totally 16 levels and it displays on the LED screen as U00-U16. UDO is mute.
    e. Short press the [VOL-] button to decrease a volume level, press and hold to speed down decreasing volume levels rapidly, totally 16 levels and it displays on the LED screen.
    f. The radio frequency will illuminate for 3 seconds before showing the clock. A short press [TUN+] or [TUN-] will return to the frequency display.

  2. Saving Radio Stations:
    With radio playing, if you want to save radio stations, you must search and select the radio station first. Then short press [Memory] button to enter programming mode, select the programme number, LED screen shows “PXX” by pressing [CH+] button or [CH-] button to the desired programme number, then press [Memory] button to save and complete. Over-write a programmed number if no longer needed.

  3. Select Saved Radio station:
    With radio playing, short press the [CH+] button or [CH-] button to select the desired radio station to play, LED screen shows the station number and frequency every 3 seconds separately.

  4. Search and save radio stations automatically: With radio playing, extended long press the [SCAN] button to search for radio stations automatically, it plays for 3 seconds when it get a station and then save it automatically.
    The LED screen shows the station number and frequency every 3 seconds separately.
    Note: You can store 40 radio stations (AM 20 stations, FM 20 stations). The backup battery will also maintain the saved radio stations during power failure.

FITTING A NEW UK PLUG

Your appliance operates on 220-240V-50Hz AC Mains and comes fitted with a 3-pin BSI Approved plug, so that it is ready for use for the UK or Eire market. If for any reason you need to fit a new plug, the flexible mains lead must be connected as shown below: –

IMPORTANT:
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
BLUE: NEUTRAL (N)
BROWN: LIVE (L)

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
The BLUE wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “N” or coloured BLACK. The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “L” or coloured RED.

  • DO NOT CONNECT EITHER WIRE ‘L’ OR ‘N’ TO THE EARTH TERMINAL OF A 3-PIN PLUG

Always ensure that the Mains Cord is located into the Plug through the Cord Guard or Cable Clamp, and that the Cord Guard screws are tightened to clamp the Cord (outer sheath and inner coloured wires) in position in the Plug. Make sure the Plug top is also fitted securely.
The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the supply cord is damaged, the appliance should be scrapped.

This appliance must be protected by a 3 Amp fuse in a 13 Amp type (BS1363) plug.
Should you need to replace the fuse, use only an ASTA approved BS1362 fuse

CLEANING AND CARE

  • MAINTENANCE
    This Alarm Clock Radio has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper care and regular cleaning.

  • CLEANING
    The exterior surface of the appliance should be wiped with a clean dry cloth only.

DO NOT
Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents or polish on any part of the appliance.

WEEE/ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION

PRODUCT END OF LIFE AND BATTERY DISPOSAL
The battery contains substances that may pollute the environment. At end of life for the product, always remove the battery and separate before you discard the product at your local waste collection point. Both battery and product should be disposed separately.
If you have trouble removing the battery, then you should contact a qualified technician or authorised service centre.
