Precautions

Location
Using the unit in the following locations can result in a malfunction.

  • In direct sunlight
  • Locations of extreme temperature or humidity
  • Excessively dusty or dirty locations
  • Locations of excessive vibration
  • Close to magnetic fields

Power supply

Be sure to turn off the power when the unit is not in use. Remove the battery in order to prevent it from leaking when the unit is not in use for extended periods. Do not expose batteries to excessive heat, such as direct sun-shine, fire or the like. Dispose of used batteries according to the battery manufacturer’s instructions.
Interference with other electrical devices Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience reception interference. Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.

Handling
To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force to the switches or controls.
Care
If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners such as benzene or thin-ner, or cleaning compounds or flammable polishes.

Using the tuner

Press the button to turn the tuner on.

Tuning while checking the meter

  1. Change the reference pitch as neces-sary

  2. Play a single note on your instrument to input sound
    When using the built-in mic, place your instrument as close as possible to the mic.

  3. Adjust the pitch on your instrument

    • Display the target note name for tuning
    • Tune so that the meter lines up with the mark at the center and the LED at the center of the tuning guide lights up.

Tuning while listening to the sound (Sound Out)

  1. Press the button while the tuner is on
  2. Select the target note name for tuning
  3. Adjust the pitch on your instrument while listening to the tuner
  4. Press the button to turn the sound off

Tuning using the Transpose function

  1. Select the reference tone

  2. Adjust the pitch as described in “Tuning while checking the meter”

The tuning can be adjusted with Sound-Back. The Sound-Back detects the note you inputted, and outputs the closest reference pitch.

Using the metronome
Press the button to metronome the tuner on.

The default setting is pendulum (pendulum of a mechanical metronome) steps. appears on the display.
Press + and − on the button at the same time for about one second to switch between pendulum step and full step ( appears on the display).

  1. Set the tempo
    Press + and − on the button, or
    press the button several times at regular intervals.

  2. Start the metronome

  3. Set the beat

  4. Press the button to stop the metronome

Using the tuner and metronome at the same time

Press the and buttons respectively to turn the tuner and metronome on.
