Installing Your Thermostat
This product is suitable for US standard wall boxes. Follow the steps below to
install your thermostat:
- Connect the wire of power and other equipment to the terminals.
- Fix the wall plate into the wall box using a screwdriver.
- Connect the LCD board to the wall plate.
WARNING: Please arrange for a professional technician to install this product according to the installation drawing and instructions. There is a risk of electrical shock. Disconnect the power supply before making electrical connections. Contact with components carrying hazardous voltage can cause electrical shock and may result in severe personal injury or death.
WIFI Connection and App Use Explanation
To connect your smart thermostat to WIFI and use the app, follow these
steps:
- Make sure the router or modem is close to your mobile phone when connecting to WIFI for the first time. This will help you connect to WIFI more quickly.

To access the Configuration Menu, long press the button for over 7 seconds

Setting the time
When connecting the thermostat to Wi-Fi, the time will sync automatically. If not connecting to Wi-Fi, Press to set second-hour-week. -
AUTO mode
Short press the button to select Auto.Short press the button to enter AUTO mode -
Setting the Lock
Press and hold the button at the same time over 7 seconds to lock/unlock your thermostat -
WIFI reset
Long press seconds to reset WIFI when power off

Setting a Schedule
When connecting the thermostat to Wi-Fi, the schedule is programmed based on time and temperature set points from the Sensi app. If you are not connecting to Wi-Fi, follow these steps to set a basic 7-day schedule with 4 mandatory set points.
Long press the button above 7 seconds to enter the weekly program function.
Short Press the button to set week-hour-cool temperature-heat temperature, Short press it to return.
Press to set the parameters Long press at the same time over 7 seconds to go back factory weekly program settings

Long press the fan button over 7 seconds to enter Vocation mode. Short press
fan button check days->cool temp ->heat temp. Long press the button for 7

Short press the button to enter energy saving. The LCD will show on. If you
need to change energy saving temp. Long press button and button at the same

Item 4 : Circulating fan
- Short press the fan button to select a cycle.Press to confirm this function running.
- If you want to circulate the air in your home using your indoor blower fan, you can set this feature at the thermostat. A percentage is selected to indicate how often the fan should run each hour, You can set 5% increments from 10% – 100%.
EXAMPLE:
- If you set the Circulating Fan to 50%, the fan will run 30 minutes every hour.
- If any heat/cool cycles occur during the hour, their runtime is subtracted from the overall fan run time Item 21 Select UV lamp replacement run time
- This is a reminder to change the UV lamp. Select starts to count for 0 days to 360 days. The thermostat will display “Chg UV” when UV time (Xxdays).

WIFI Connection and app use explanation
Please try to make sure the router or modern is close to your mobile phone the
first time to WIFI with your smart thermostat. This will help you connect to
WIFI successfully and more quickly.

Step 1. Please download the App (Fig1-1, Fig2-2)
For IOS devices could search” Tuya Smart” or “Smart Life” app in the app store. Or scan the QR code above(Fig1-1,Fig2-2)
For Android devices can search” Tuya Smart” or ”Smart life” app in the Google Play Store. Or scan the QR code above(Fig1-1,Fig2-2) -
Step 2. Register your account
Open the “Smart Life” app.Y you will get a notification (Fig 2-1), Click Agree to go to your page the register (Fig 2-2).
Press register and enter your phone no. or email (Fig 2-3) then you can get a verification code (Fig2-4).
Set your password and confirm (Fig 2-5) to complete your registration. If you have an account, please log in. -
Step 3. Connect WIFI signal with thermostat
Note : There are two WIFI signal connection ways to your thermostat, EZ mode and AP mode Default is EZ mode( AP mode is slowly connection way, do not suggest use)
EZ MODE WIFI connection
- Please make sure your thermostat is powered off.
- Press the confirm button for over 7 seconds.
- The icon will flash one time per 0.5 seconds. Then go to the app page see the picture( Fig3- 1) below press “Add device” or”+” in the upper right to add your device.
- Choose- small appliance device-add manually -Thermostat (Fig3-2). Then enter your wireless router name and password(Fig3-3) and confirm next.
- Click the Confirm indicator to rapidly blink the Confirm Next button (Fig 3-4). The app will connect automatically (Fig- 5). This will take 10seconds to connect sucessfully ( Fig3- 6)
AP MODE wifi connection
On your thermostat
- Please make sure your thermostat power is on.
- Press the button the wifi symbol flashes one time per second.
- Click the Confirm indicator slowly blink (Fig 4-1) then select your network and back to your app to enter the password of your wireless router (Fig 3-3) and confirm. The app will go into the page in (Fig 4-2).
- Press Go to connect to select the wifi signal Smartlife-XXXX of your thermostat (Fig 4-3).
- Then Go back to your app the app will connect automatically(Fig3-5).This will take 12seconds to connect sucessfully ( Fig3- 6)
App Buttons explanation
When your thermostat connects successfully. The page will same as (Fig 5-1).
- System button: You could select mode Heat/Cool Emergency Heat, Auto.See page(fig 5-2,fig 5-3)
- Run mode : You could select Program(Schedule), See (fig5-6). You could set four periods each day Manual(Permanent hold), Temporary hold, ECO (fig 5-4)
- Fan Mode select: See page(Fig5-5)You could select Auto/on/cycle/Auto fan here
- Vocation Setting : Select you could setting Holiday days, Heat temp and cool temp(fig 5-8)
- C / F : In the left corner. You could easy to change the temperature to C or F(fig 5-2)
- Child lock : Select lock/unlock your thermostat.
- Settings : You could select temperature condensation, Min temp. Max temp and back to factory setting etc. See page( fig 5-7).
Where to connect with third-party access service control?
You could click ME in the right corner button to enter more (Fig6-1) and
select voice control Alexa.Google.Yandex Alice, Smart Things etc. (Fig 6-2)
How to share devices and create groups?
You could also Click in the upper right corner to select ” share devices” and
“create group” with your family. See page(Fig- 3) Choose the “smart” button.
