Setup and Installation
Remove the thumbscrews from the gas compartment door. Lift the door and connect the calibration gas bottle to the built-in regulator. Secure the bottle with the strap. Install the USB memory stick*. Lower the gas compartment door and secure it with the thumbscrews. The Clip Dock is now ready to bump test, calibrate and record data. By default, the dock assumes that the installed bottle contains four gases. GCT Manager software allows you to specify these gas concentrations, as well as other operational parameters.
Default gas settings: H2S – 25 ppm, CO – 100 ppm, O2 – 18% and LEL – 50%.
- If the USB memory stick is not installed, the Clip Dock can still perform tests but will be unable to record results.
Power
The Clip Dock is powered by an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery that comes charged for immediate use. Pressing either the bump test button or the calibration button activates the dock to perform the selected test. The dock will turn off automatically after two minutes of inactivity except while it is recharging. When the dock battery is low, the power LED will blink green. To avoid damaging the dock battery and other internal components, only use the included Clip Dock Charger to recharge the Clip Dock. Bay LEDs will blink orange in a cycle pattern to indicate that the dock is charging.
LED Status Indicators

Detector Failed Tes | No USB Memory Detected* (blinking) |
Dock Battery Charging (blinking and cycling) | Dock Battery Low blinking |
Operation
Firmly snap 1 to 4 detectors into the bays. Diffusion detectors go in face- down. Pump detectors go in face-up with the IR communication window facing down.

One audible click will be heard when detector is securely seated. Single gas detectors will not make an audible click. To start a test, push the bump test or calibration button. Gas will be applied simultaneously to bays with detectors present. The test is complete once Power LED returns to green.
Bump Test button – briefly applies gas to test sensor response,
downloads the logs and tests the audible alarm.
Calibration button – adjusts the sensor response to match the gas
applied, downloads the logs and tests the audible alarm.
The Clip Dock and USB memory stick can be programmed using the GCT Manager software so that every button press will also upgrade the firmware and configure the user options of each detector.
Troubleshooting Detector Test Failures
- Inspect the detector gas inlet and audible alarm port. Clear any obstructions and replace any clogged filters.
- Clean the detector’s IR communication window with an alcohol-free cleaner.
- Using the dock’s built-in pressure gauge, verify that the gas bottle is not empty. 58L bottles are “full” at 500 PSI and 116L at 1000 PSI.
- Try relocating the Clip Dock away from bright light sources which may interfere with IR communication between the dock and the detectors.
- If a detector continues to fail after completing the previous steps, please contact Gas Clip Technologies Service Department at 1.877.525.0808.
