Installation Instructions

Priming the Filter

Upon first use or anytime the filter is dry, follow these steps:

1. Uncap both ends of the filter.
2. Stand the filter upright in safe water, ensuring the mouthpiece is kept out of the water and dry.
3. Allow the filter to remain in the water for 10 seconds to prime it.

This step ensures that the internal ultrafiltration membrane gets wet, enabling easier water filtration.

Using the Filter Straw

To use the filter straw:

1. Directly put the filter straw in water.
2. Sip the water through the straw.

Using with a Bottle

To use the filter straw with a bottle:

1. Install a pop bottle with a thread diameter of 27.5mm on the inlet of the filter straw.
2. Place the filter straw directly into the water source.
3. Squeeze the bottle to draw water through the filter straw and into the bottle.

Using with a Bag

To use the filter straw with a standard water bag:

1. Install a standard water bag filled with water on the inlet of the filter straw.
2. Place the filter straw directly into the water source.
3. Squeeze the bag gently to draw water through the filter straw and into the bag.

Using with a Hanging Water Bag

To use the filter straw with a hanging water bag and a bottle:

1. Install a standard water bag filled with water on the inlet of the filter straw.
2. Install a pop bottle with a thread diameter of 27.5mm on the outlet of the filter straw.
3. Hang the water bag above the bottle.
4. Water will flow from the bag, through the filter straw, and into the bottle.

Using Inline

To achieve better flow rate, a water bag and hose can be purchased and matched with the filter straw:

1. Purchase a water bag and hose.
2. Connect the hose to the inlet of the filter straw.
3. Place the filter straw in the water source.
4. Water will flow through the hose, into the filter straw, and out through the outlet.

Storage and Maintenance

After drinking, it is recommended to perform the following steps for storage and maintenance:

1. Frequently blow air through the mouthpiece or drain the filter straw by flinging it to keep it clean.
2. After using, remove the mouthpiece.
3. Flush the mouthpiece with clean water.
4. A standard water bag or a pop bottle with a thread diameter of 27.5mm can be used to fill clean water for backwashing the filter straw.

Do not use chemicals to clean the filter straw, as they can shorten the service life of the carbon fiber filter element.

Installation instructions

Upon first use or anytime the filter is dry, uncap both ends and stand it up in safe water(keeping mouthpiece out of water abd dry) for 10 seconds to allow water to prime the filter. This will help the internal ultrafiltration membrane get wet and water can be filtered more easily.

Storage and maintenance

After drinking, frequently blow air through the mouthpiece or drain the filter straw by flinging it to keep it clean. After using, remove the mouthpiece, flush it with clean water (standard water bag can be used or pop bottle with thread diameter of 27.5mm can be filled clean water for backwashing the filter straw).

Caution:
Do not use chemicals to clean the filter straw, because they shorten the service life of carbon fiber filter element

Warning:

• The Waterdrop filter straw is an individual water filtration device. It can be only used to filter water. If the product is used beyond its normal service environment, we cannot guarantee the quality of filtered water
• In order to prevent the damage of the filter, please do not thump it in any way. Do not throw the filter straw in polluted water, Otherwise the filtration membrane wlll be polluted If you do not need to drink water,
• please keep the mouthpiece of the water filter straw capped. If there is obvious damage to the straw filter, please stop using it at once.

Frequently asked questions

Q: I have used it only once and it no longer works, why?

A: The product is not cleaned up after use, as a result its filter element is blocked. It should be repeatedly backwashed to remove impurities on the surface of the ultrafiltration membrane.

Q: Why is there peculiar smell in second use?

A: After use, dirty residues are left in filter element. Please backwash the filter straw to remove dirty impurities on the surface of the filtration membrane. Each time before using, the water filter straw should be backwashed to avoid peculiar smell.

Q: Which kind of bottle can be matched with the filter straw?

A: The filter straw is matched with pop bottle with thread diameter of 27.5 mm in design, and therefore it can only be matched with mineral water bottle with thread diameter of 27.5 mm to avoid any leakage.
