IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING – This manual contains important instructions for Models: LNA- EVC1-48-SV1 series that shall be followed during installation, operation and maintenance of the unit.

  1. Read all the instructions before using this product.
  2. This device should be supervised when used around children.
  3. Do not put fingers into the electric vehicle connector.
  4. Do not use this product if the supply conductors or EV cable is frayed, has broken insulation, or any other signs of damage.
  5. Do not use this product if the enclosure or the EV connector is broken, cracked, open, or shows any other indication of damage.
  6. To reduce the risk of fire, connect only to a circuit provided branch circuit over-current protection in accordance with the CSA C22.1–15 Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 (Canada) or NOM-001-SEDE Electrical installations (utility) (Mexico) or ANSI / NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (USA).

STATUS DESCRIPTION OF THE CHARGER INDICATION LIGHT

  1. Standby – Blue Light. A solid Blue light indicates the unit is ready to use.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Safety Requirements

  • Be sure to preview the user manual and ensure local building and electrical codes are reviewed before installing the AC charger.
  • The AC charger should be installed by a qualified technician according to the user manual and local safety regulations.
  • Use appropriate protection when connecting to the main power distribution cable.
  • Disconnect switch for each ungrounded conductor of AC input shall be provided by others in accordance with the National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.

WIRING

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This product must be connected to a grounded, metal, permanent wiring system, or an equipment-grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment grounding terminal or lead on the product.

CIRCUIT BREAKER INSTRUCTIONS

Use Double Pole, 240-Volt, 60-Amp circuit breaker for default installation.

If a lower amperage breaker wiring is required (<48A), then manual adjustment of the amperage dial switch is required.

Turn the arrow of the dial switch to the appropriate number based on the amperage in the table.

The adjustment dial switch is located inside the unit and requires opening of the front cover.

Please contact customer support if further details are required on amperage adjustment.

If unit is configured for a lower amperage output (16A/32A/40A), update the amperage output label on the side of the unit.
Peel a new label from the provided labels and cover over the existing label.

WARNING: The two phases used must each measure 120V to Ground. Earth ground must be connected to neutral at only one point, usually at the breaker panel.

WARNING: The 208V feed is from a y-connection power grid, and the EV charger unit can connect to L1 and L2, L2 and L3, or L1 and L3. Earth ground must be connected to neutral at only one point, usually at the breaker panel. Leave the unused leg open. Do not connect it to a Neutral bar, or to Ground. Be sure the center point is Earth ground somewhere in the system.

TOOLS AND MATERIALS REQUIRED

Tools required before installing the Wall-Mounted charger.

  • Tools for Electrical Wiring
  • T25 Security Torque driver
  • Socket or Adjustable Wrench for 10mm bolt (for wall anchors)
  • Level
  • Pencil or marker
  • Machine drill (for wall anchors)

WALL-MOUNTED BRACKET INSTALLATION

Installation Instructions
This device shall be mounted at a sufficient height from grade such that the height of the storage means for the coupling device is located between 24 inches (600mm) and 4 feet (1.2m) from grade

  1. Set the positions of the 4 screw holes and drill them, with a diameter of 5/16″ (8mm) and a depth of 2 1/16″ (52mm).
    Use 4 sets expansion screw and M6 screw to fix the wall mounted bracket on the wall.

  2. Align the rear notch of charger into the wall-mounted bracket and fit the screw holes of the right and left side.

  3. Fix two M5 security screws to complete the installation.

  4. After unit is installed on the wall, feed the power supply conductors into the LFNC-B conduit.

  5. If necessary, loosen the nut on the fitting. Push the LFNC-B conduit into the fitting on the EV unit. If necessary, tighten the nut on the fitting.

AMPUP CONFIGURATION

  1. Locate the AmpUp Installer Quick Start Guide that was included in the carton. Follow the directions in Step 1 by scanning the QR Code on the Quick Start Guide, not the QR Code that is on the front of the EV Charging unit. This step can be performed before or after the unit has been installed.

    Select “Legrand LNA-EVC1-48-SV1” as the model

  2. After the EV Charger has been installed and powered on, follow the directions in Step 2 of the Amp Up Installer Quick Start Guide. Make sure to select “Legrand LNA-EVC1-48-SV1” as the model.

  3. If the directions on the Amp Up Installer Quick Start Guide cannot be followed, contact Amp Up support by calling the phone number provided in the guide.
    Also, the owner or administrator of the EV Charger unit will need to contact Amp Up using the phone number on front of the EV Charger to setup the Amp Up service.

OPERATING STEPS WITH PLUG AND CHARGE

  1. Standby Mode
    Before charging, ensure the charger is in Standby mode.
    A solid Blue light indicates the charger is in Standby mode and is ready for use.

    Scan the QR Code on the front with your mobile device.

  3. Plug the Charging Connector
    Please plug the charging connector into the vehicle charging inlet.

  4. Charging
    A flashing Green light indicates the vehicle is charging.

    • A Red light indicates an error has occurred. Unplug the connector from the vehicle and then reconnect to the vehicle to try to resolve.
    • If red light is still lit, please refer to “Error and Warning Messages”.

    A solid Green light indicates charging is complete. Please press the button on the connector and disconnect from the vehicle.

    Tap the RFID card to start the charging.
    NOTE: If you tap the RFID card first, the charging connector must be connected to the vehicle within 120 seconds, otherwise you need to tap the RFID card again.

    • A flashing Green light indicates the vehicle is charging. • A Red light indicates an error has occurred. Unplug the connector from the vehicle and then reconnect to the vehicle to try to resolve.
    • If red light is still lit, please refer to “Error and Warning Messages”

MAINTENANCE

Daily Maintenance

Please keep the charger clean and keep the charger in a clean area with low humidity. Do not install it in an environment near the sea, with high oil, high humidity or high dust.

  • Avoid moisture or water in the charger. If there is water or moisture ingress into the charger, it is necessary to immediately power off to avoid immediate danger, and notify the professional personnel to carry out maintenance before next use.
  • If there is any damage or dirt on the vehicle connector, charging cable, or vehicle connector holder, please contact the maintenance personnel immediately.
  • Please use the charger properly. Do not hit or press hard on the case. If the case is damaged, please contact a professional technician.
  • Avoid placing the charger near hot objects and at high temperature locations and away from dangerous substances such as flammable gases and corrosive materials.
  • Do not place external objects or heavy objects on the charger to avoid danger.

LEGRAND/WIREMOLD LIMITED WARRANTY & LIABILITY STATEMENT

Legrand/Wiremold warrants, to the original purchaser or owner only, that any product manufactured and sold by legrand / wiremold will be substantially free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service, for a period of one year from the date of original installation or two years from the date of purchase, whichever is sooner. This limited warranty applies only to products, which have been installed properly in accordance with installation instructions supplied by legrand/wiremold and any applicable codes and standards.

This limited warranty is void and legrand/wiremold shall not be liable for any damages or held responsible for the quality, performance or safety of products that have been repaired, altered or tampered with outside of Legrand/Wiremold facilities or which have been intermixed (used within a system) with products or materials not approved by legrand/wiremold or have been subjected to accident, negligence, misuse or abuse.

Legrand/Wiremold’s sole obligation (and the sole and exclusive remedy of the purchaser or owner of the product) with respect to any products which are proven to be defective, shall be the repair or replacement of the defective products, at the sole option of legrand/ wiremold. Returned products will not be accepted unless legrand/wiremold is notified and authorizes the return, prior to shipment. Legrand/Wiremold shall not be liable for any damages in excess of the purchase price of the defective products, and under no circumstances shall legrand/wiremold be liable for incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages.

Certain products of Legrand/Wiremold may have a specific limited warranty or limitation of liability which is included with such products and which differs from that set forth in this statement. The terms of any such specific limited warranty or limitation of liability will supersede that set forth in this statement.
Except as set forth in the preceding paragraph, this limited warranty is exclusive and legrand/wiremold makes no other warranties with respect of its products, expressed or implied, including no warranty of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose.
