FiiO 1072727 Bluetooth DAC and Headphone Amplifier

Operation explained

Power on: Hold the Power button for about 3s while the device is off.
Power off: Hold the Power button for about 5s while the device is on;
Reset: Short press the Power button for about 10s at any state.
Turn off/on the display: When the device powers on and is not on the menu page, short press the Power button.
Activate menu: When the device powers on and not on the menu page, hold the Power button for about 2s.
Exit menu: On the menu page, hold the Power button for about 2s.
Return to the previous menu step by step : On the menu page, short press the Power button.
Switch submenus: Short press the Volume+/- button on the menu page.
Confirm menu: Short press the Multifunction button on the menu page.

Bluetooth pairing mode (not on the menu page):

  1. If the device is never paired: After the device powers on, it will automatically enter the pairing mode with the display showing “Pairing”;
  2. Force the device to enter pairing mode: After the device is successfully connected, hold the Multifunction button for about us until the display shows “Pairing”.
    Operation instructions after a successful pairing with a mobile phone through Bluetooth (not on the menu page):
    Activate Siri/voice assistant: Double press the Multifunction button.
    Play/Pause/Answer/Hang up/Cancel a phone call: short press the Multifunction button.
    Reject a phone call: Hold the Multifunction button for about ls when there is an incoming phone call.

Volume up/down: Short press the Volume+/- button.
Switch tracks: Hold the Volume+/- button for about 2s.
Clear pairing: Hold the Volume+ and Volume- buttons at the same time for about 5s when the device is on.
How to connect the BTRIS to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously:

  1. After a successful pairing with device 1, hold the Multifunction button for about us to enter the pairing mode again. Search for “BTR15” on device 2 and pair it with the BTR15. Back to device I, select “FIIO BTRIS” in the Bluetooth device list and reconnect them; or, after connecting the BTR15 with device 1 successfully, reenter the pairing mode and connect to device
  2. After a successful pairing with device 2, short press the Multifunction button to reconnect to device 1; or, restart the BTR15 after a successful pairing with device 2, so the BTR15 can be connected to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

Switch modes

Toggle the mode switch to select the mode you want to use.

PC mode: Toggle the switch to the top. The BTRIS will u·· enter the USB decoding mode for desktop devices, and can be powered through USB.
BT mode: Toggle the switch to the middle. The BTR15 will enter the Bluetooth receiving mode, and can be powered through USB.
PHONE mode: Toggle the mode switch to the bottom.
The BTR15 will enter the decoding mode for mobile phones, and will be disabled from USB charging (The device will be forced to charge if it is powered off for low battery).

Introduction to main menus

  1. Charging protection

PC| USB decoding| The USB will not charge thee battery and not provide power for the system. If the BTR15 is poweredd off due to low battery, it willl be forced to charge to 100%. When the battery is fully charged, the USB will stop charging the battery, and will not provide power for the system.
BT| Bluetooth decoding
PHONE| USB decoding| By default, the USB will charge the battery and provide power for the system. When the battery is charged to 80% ,the USB will stopcharging the battery, but wiII still provide power for the system.| The USB will not charge the battery and not provide power for the system BTR15 is powered off due to low battery, it will be forced to charge to 100%. When the battery is fully charged, the USB will stop charging the battery, and will not provide power for the system.
2. Car mode: Enable the Car mode and connect the BTR15 to an on-board USB port. When the vehicle engine starts, the BTR15 will power on automatically, and power off when the engine stops.

Connect to the computer via USB for decoding

When the BTR15 is in UAC 2.0 mode for Windows computers, please go to FIIO’s official website to download and install the USB DAC driver.
(For MAC OS computers, there is no need to install the driver, but it requires selecting the BTR15 as the default device for audio output).

When the BTR15 is in UAC 1.0 mode, no driver is required.
Just select the BTR15 as the default audio output device after connecting it to the computer. It is recommended to adjust the volume of the computer to the max level, and control the output volume on the BTR15.

Notes:

You’ll need to unplug and plug the BTR15 after switching between UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0.
When working as a USB DAC under 2.0 mode, the BTR15 supports MQA Renderer, which will show “MQA” on the display. It requires working with music applications that support MQA Core Decoder.
When connecting through Bluetooth or USB DAC, the BTR15 supports 60 levels of volume adjustment.

Notes and precautions

It’s recommended to charge the device with a standard SV charger.
Please do not put the battery in a high-temperature environment. The battery is prohibited from use if it is soaked in water, or if it gets swollen. Please do not disassemble, hit, crush, or puncture the battery, and do not put it on fire.
Please keep the device away from liquids to avoid any damage to it.
If the device is to be left unused for a longtime, please recharge it periodically to preserve its battery life.
Please adjust the volume to a suitable level before putting on headphones, so as to protect your hearing.
Please do not place the device in circumstances of excessive high/low temperatures (above 45″C or below 0°C) I or in an enclosed high-temperature environment 1 such as in a car.
If using a third-party power adapter for power supply, please use a standard and certificated one.

The BTR15 includes MQA technology, which enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. The BTR15 Now Playing screen shows green or blue dot next to MQA logo to indicate that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material. It shows blue dot to indicate it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner.
