KASK WHE00104-204 Superplasma Safety Helmet
NOTE : Read all instructions carefully before using the helmet; if they are not followed correctly, the level of protection offered by the helmet could be reduced. The manufacturer and/or distributor will accept no responsibility in the event of accidents leading to injury or even death due to improper use of the helmet. This helmet is built to absorb impact by partially distributing the shock or by damaging its essential components. This helmet should be used exclusively for the activities for which it is certified (see labelling). This helmet has been approved for industrial use, certified according to EN 397:2012, and meets the optional requirements of the legislation points: § 5.2.1 Very low temperature -30 ° C, § 5.2.4 Side deformation and § 5.2.5 Molten metal splashes. It complies with the additional requirements: “shock absorption” clauses § 4.2.1.2 (front), § 4.2.1.3 (lateral), § 4.2.1.4 (rear) § 4.2.2 “penetration”, of the EN 12492: 2012 standard. The EU certification procedure has been carried out by notified body n°. 0426, Italcert S.r.l. – Viale Sarca, 336 – 20126 Milano – Italia.
WARNING :
- This helmet cannot always protect the user from injury. Specifically, one should keep in mind that no helmet can protect the head from the shock generated by violent impact. Following violent impact, even if no damage is visible, the helmet should be replaced, as it may have exhausted its ability to absorb further shocks and provide the expected protection. The helmet object of this manual is a type II Personal Protection Device, and as such was subjected to EC-type Certification procedure with application of the requirements laid down in annexes V and VI to the EU Regulation 2016/425.
- Some regulations or legislations do not allow the use of safety helmets without a chinstrap. Some regulations or legislations compulsorily require the use of a helmet equipped with a chinstrap if there is a risk of falling, for example when working at height or platforms elevating. The same may be required in cases where there is a risk of losing the helmet, such as when carrying out work overhead. Check with the competent authorities the possibilities and limitations before using the PPE. If the helmet is equipped with a chinstrap, KASK S.p.A. recommends keeping it fastened throughout the working activity.

INSTRUCTIONS
As a protective measure, this helmet must be worn at all times during activity. For adequate protection, it is important that the helmet is sized correctly and fits the head properly to offer optimum comfort and safety. The helmet should be adjusted to fit the user; for example, the straps should be positioned so that they do not cover the ears, the buckle should be kept away from the jawbone, and the straps and buckle should both be adjusted so that they are comfortable and secure. After properly fastening and adjusting the strap, always check that the helmet is not excessively tight; nor should it move freely back and forth (Fig. 1).
HELMET ADJUSTMENT
Put on the helmet and adjust the size by rotating the rear dial (clockwise to
tighten and counter-clockwise to enlarge) until you obtain the desired fit
(Fig. 2). Fasten the strap by inserting one buckle into the other until you
hear it snap in place (Fig. 3 a-b). Pull the chin strap to check that the
buckle is locked (Fig. 4). Adjust the length of the chin strap to firmly
secure the helmet onto your head. The chin strap buckle must be positioned on
the end of the tape to prevent it from dangling. Adjust the lateral retractor,
by sliding it along the straps until you find the desired position (Fig. 5).
To remove the helmet from the head, open the chin strap by simultaneously
pressing the buttons on each side of the buckle (Fig. 3 a-b).
REPLACEMENT PARTS
Changes, replacements and/or removals of one or any of the original components of the helmet are prohibited unless authorized by the manufacturer. Only use original KASK spare parts. The helmet should not be modified to attach any accessories except for those described below. If necessary, contact your retailer or the manufacturer directly.
ACCESSORIES

- earmuffs
- eye protection visor (EN166)
- face shield (EN166)
- plastic mesh protector (EN1731)
- metal mesh protector (EN1731)
- replacement padding
- winter padding.
Check with the dealer or manufacturer whether the accessories listed above are available. Follow the installation and operating instructions supplied with the accessory. Use only accessories approved by the manufacturer.
CONTROL
Before using the helmet, check its integrity in all its parts. Following a
violent impact even if the damage is not visible replace the helmet, as it may
have exhausted its ability to absorb further shocks and provide the expected
protection.
CLEANING
Clean the helmet (and accessories, if applicable) only with water, neutral pH
soap, and a soft, clean cloth, allowing it to air dry at room temperature. If
it is removable, it can be removed and washed by hand in cold water or in
the washing machine (max. 30°C). In no case should chemical detergents or
solvents be used.
STORAGE
When not in use, it is best to keep the helmet at a temperature between 5°C
and 35°C, protected from direct sunlight and away from heat sources, we
recommend storing the helmet in its original package.
APPLICATION OF ADHESIVES: Do not apply adhesives, solvents, stickers and paint
if not in compliance with the manufacturer’s specifications. Any repair or
modification not foreseen may adversely affect the protective function of the
helmet.
TRANSPORT
Given the type of device (helmet), no particular instructions are necessary
for its transport. PRECAUTIONS: Do not use the helmet as a base or support or
container. Do not compress it. Do not drop it. Avoid contact with sharp or
dangerous objects. Do not use outside of the temperature range -30°C +50°C.
Avoid picking up
the helmet by the size adjuster. Protect against chemical agents.
LIFE
The helmet’s life depends on the occurrence of different degenerative factors,
including changes in temperature, exposure to direct sunlight, the more or
less intense use. The helmet should be checked periodically, and before each
use, for the presence of any damage such as cracks, detachments, deformation,
peeling, which constitute evidence of a deterioration of the helmet. Items
that have been subjected to impact of sensitive entities must be replaced even
if they have no obvious signs of damage. In any case, it is advisable to
replace the helmet after 10 years from its production because through time
protection decreases due to aging of the materials. The date of manufacture
can be found inside the helmet.
INSPECTION
In addition to the normal inspection before each use, a responsible controller
must carry out a thorough examination with at least annual frequency. Audit
logging must be done on a control board that contains detailed references to:
type, model, manufacturer’s data, batch or serial number, date of purchase,
maturity and first use, date of the inspection and any notes. Do not remove
labels or markings and check its legibility. If you should find any cuts,
abrasions, or other damage, contact the manufacturer to have the helmet
inspected before using it again. Remove discarded products to prevent future
use.
3 YEAR WARRANTY
KASK guarantees the product for 3 years for defects in materials or workmanship. The warranty does not cover defects caused by normal wear and tear, modifications, incorrect storage, improper maintenance or uses other than those for which the device has been certified.
LABELLING
Information contained on the inside of the helmet, printed on a label, which
should not be removed for any reason.
RESPONSIBILITY
KASK S.p.A. declines all responsibility for any direct or indirect damage,
accidental or deliberate, caused by improper use of KASK products. The user
