Heavy Duty Remote Control HW2190 Congratulations on a wise purchase!

ENCLOSED YOU WILL FIND:

  • Transmitter
  • Receiver
  • 12-volt alkaline battery (installed)

TOOLS NEEDED

  • Small Phillips head screwdriver
  • 6 Screw

INSTALLATION

Four channels are available so that you can operate up to four systems at different locations around your home. (See channel options.)

Mounting the Receiver
To mount, hang the receiver securely on a #6 screw. A hole has been placed in the back of the unit for this purpose. Do not hang by the cord. The HW2190 needs to be located below the wall outlet. This is to prevent rain from running down the cord into the wall outlet.

Plug-in Receiver

Caution: This product requires a grounded outlet. If you do not have a grounded outlet, you may want to contact an electrician to upgrade your electrical system. If you are using this unit outdoors, note precautions.

Outdoor precautions: The HW2190 must be mounted with the receptacle facing down at all times (as illustrated) to prevent rain or moisture from entering the unit.

OUTDOOR RECEIVER PLACEMENT

Carlon-HW2190-Heavy-Duty-Remote-Control-FIG-2

Plug in the devices you wish to control.
Do not exceed the maximum load specifications listed.

IMPORTANT! The protective plug must be in place at all times to prevent water from entering the unit!

NOTE: The National Electric Code (and most local codes) require that outside outlets be protected by a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI). Carlon recommends using a Carlon In-Use Weatherproof Cover for any outdoor outlets.

To Replace Transmitter Battery
Remove the top screw from the back of the remote control. Lift off the back cover, remove old battery and dispose of it promptly. Insert a 12-volt alkaline battery according to the (+,-) placement guides. Replace the back cover along with the screw. The remote control will now be ready to operate.

Changing Jumper Code Channels (Optional)
The Heavy Duty Remote Control utilizes digital channels to send a signal from transmitter to receiver. The user can change the channel if outside interference occurs. If you use other wireless products in your home, there is a slight possibility of interference. Use the following instructions to change the current channel setting to a new setting.

IMPORTANT! If you change the channel combination on the transmitter, you must change the combination to the exact same combination on the receiver. If the channel combinations do not match, the units will not function!
