GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Consider the instructions for use as a part of the appliance and pass them on to any other user of the appliance.

  • Check whether the data on the type label correspond with the voltage in electric socket.

  • Never use the appliance if its power cord of adaptor is damaged, if it does not work properly, if it fell down and was damaged. In this case take the appliance to a special service to check its safety and proper function.

  • The product is intended for home use and similar (in shops, offices and similar workplaces, in hotels, motels and other residential environments, in facilities providing accommodation with breakfast).
    It is not intended for commercial use!

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • Before replacing accessories or accessible parts, which move during operation, before assembly and disassembly, before cleaning or maintenance, turn off the appliance!

  • If the power cord of the appliance is corrupted, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer, its service technician or a similarly qualified person.

  • Never use the appliance if the power cord or power plug are damaged, if the appliance is not correctly operating or if it has fallen on the floor and been damaged, or if it has fallen into water.

  • In order to ensure safety and proper function of the appliance, use only original spare parts and accessories approved by the manufacturer.

  • NOTE: Use only the charging dock supplied together with this unit for charging.

  • To power the appliance, only apply safe small voltage in accordance with the type plate.

  • Don´t put hands close to rotating part.

  • Never immerse the vacuum cleaner into water (even its parts)!

  • Never vacuum without a properly inserted filtration system and micro-filters.

  • In order to avoid overexposure to UV light, people and house animals must be at a minimum distance of 30 cm from the UV light source. Never stare directly at the UV light source or expose your face or skin to a near UV light source, UV light can cause burns to eyes and/or skin.

  • Do not vacuum sharp objects (e.g. glass, shatter), hot, flammable, explosive items (e.g. ash, hot cigarette butts, gasoline, thinners and aerosol vapours) or greases (e.g. fats, oils), caustic agents (e.g. acids, solvents). Vacuuming these objects may lead to damage of the dust filters, or the vacuum cleaner.

  • Pores of the filters may be clogged when vacuum cleaning very fine dust (e.g. fine sand, cement dust, plaster). Thus, air permeability will be reduced and the suction performance will drop. In this case, clean the filters even though the dust container is not full yet.

  • Always switch off the vacuum cleaner first and disconnect the power cord from power supply and only then empty the dust container, clean/replace micro-filters, clean the vacuum cleaner or its accessories.

  • Do not expose the vacuum cleaner and the charging dock to weather (rain, frost, direct sunshine etc.).

  • Never use the appliance for any other purpose than for the intended purpose described in these instructions for use!

  • Disconnect the appliance from the mains when not in use for a long period. Switch off the vacuum cleaner and slide it out of the contacts of the charging station.

  • Secure please gaps on the floor (eg, Threshold Strip) to avoid damaging the brushes. These joints may also limit the vacuum cleaner jams bristle of brush into the gaps.

  • This device can not be used on a carpet whose pile length is over 1 cm. At the same time, the vacuum cleaner may not function properly on some types of dark carpets which surface „deceives” the sensors an can cause chaotic movements of the vacuum cleaner or its failure to reach some parts of the floor. Robot vacuum cleaner can cross floor transition strips of approx. 2 cm in height.

  • Make precautions to solve the problem which may make the cleaning in trouble, such as:

    • Keep the easily knock over objects in a safe place.
    • Permian the edge of the carpet.
    • The hanging table cloth and curtain should not touch the ground.
    • The flammable object should be cut from the fire source.
    • Sort out the tangled power cord on the floor.
    • Pick up the newspaper, book, magazine and large piece of paper scattered on the floor.
  • Don´t use the vacuum cleaner in rooms with temperature above 40 °C or below 0 °C.

  • Don´t use the laser module/its cover as a handle when carrying the vacuum cleaner!
    Don´t put the vacuum cleaner upside down on any surface – risk of laser module damage.

  • Check whether the main brush is correctly fixed inside the robot before cleaning.

  • Examine if the dustbin is empty and insure it is fixed before it works.

  • See if up-ground height sensor are wiped clean.

  • If the room which needs to be cleaned wants a partition, you can place the virtual wall, at the same time, check the facing opening width.

  • Please be aware that device needs 11 cm of clearance underneath furniture so that it will not become trapped.

  • Do NOT drop the Robot, should this happen, run the Robot to see that everything is okay before letting it operate by itself without you being present.

  • If the battery is leaking, remove it immediately; it can damage the vacuum cleaner.

  • Dispose of a discharged battery in a suitable way.

  • Keep batteries out of reach of children and incapacitated people. A person, who would swallow the batteries, must seek medical help immediately.

  • Disconnect the battery if the robot vacuum cleaner will not be used for a long time.

  • Never use the appliance for any other purpose than for the intended one described in these instructions for use! This appliance is not intended for outdoor use.

  • The pictures of the parts and vacuum cleaner accessories in the instruction of use are only informative and can differ from your product.

  • The manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by improper use of the appliance and the accessories. Failure to replace or maintain all filters regularly and also using nonoriginal filters, the properties of which resulted in failure or damage of the vacuum cleaner is also understood to be improper use of the appliance.

Wireless connection and compatibility

  • The ETA company cannot be liable in any way for any incidental, indirect or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or loss due to information leakage during wireless communication.
  • Successful wireless communication cannot be guaranteed 100% on all Smart devices and Wifi networks (routers). Due to the variety of devices on the market, there may be cases where the character or specification of a given smart device or Wifi network (router) makes connection impossible or is in some way disturbed. In addition, several factors, including hardware and software configuration, also affect the success of wireless communication over a Wifi network. The connection between the robot and your Wifi network can also be adversely affected by the surrounding Wifi networks that they can be tuned to the same channel and disrupt connections (e.g. in housing estates, apartment buildings, etc.). These facts are not a reason to claim the appliance.

The application is owned and operated by a third party (hereinafter the “Subject”) different from HP TRONIC Zlín, Ltd. (hereinafter the „Seller“). No personal information is transmitted between the Subject and the Seller. When registering for the application, the customer transfers the personal data directly to the Subject, which becomes the personal data controller. The Application and the associated privacy policy are governed by the Rules of the Subject.

APPLICABILITY

The product, mainly applicable to home, hotel rooms and small office, is good for cleaning to various short-haired carpet, wood floor, hard floor, ceramic tile, etc.

Since the vacuum cleaner moves freely in the space of your home, it is necessary to adapt the environment to this fact. Before use, remove all unwanted objects (stretched cables, scattered clothes, papers, bags, etc.) from the floor that could impede the movement of the vacuum cleaner or, conversely, fragile objects (e.g. glass and ceramic vases) that could be damaged by the vacuum cleaner.

If you are going to use the vacuum cleaner in a multi story household, we recommend that you carry the charging station together with the vacuum cleaner between floors to ensure all functions.

Remote control notes

  • Do not combine various types of batteries. Do not even combine used and new batteries together.
  • Batteries not intended for this purpose must not be charged.
  • Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the appliance before charging.
  • Remove the batteries if you will not be using the appliance for a long time.
  • The supply terminals must not be short-circuited.

Charging

Battery type: 2x AAA

Inserting / replacing batteries
Remove the cover on the back of the controller and insert the batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity. Replace the cover in the opposite way

PREPARATION FOR USE

Remove all packing material, remove vacuum cleaner and accessories.
Remove any adhesive, stickers, or paper from the vacuum cleaner.

PREPARATION OF THE VACUUM CLEANER

According to the intended use, install the dust bin B or additionally the mop attachment C in the vacuum cleaner. Also choose the appropriate type of main brush (A10a/A10b/A10c). Install the side brushes A9.

The following main brush types can be used:
HYBRID brush – a combination of lamellae and bristles, suitable for carpets and hard floors, including moping

RUBBER BRUSH – rubber brush for all types of hard floors, suitable for hair collection and mopping (rubber brush must be used with fine brush cover A11b)

FINE BRUSH – extra fine brush for hard and delicate floors, suitable for fine dust, pet and human hair (fine brush must be used with fine brush cover A11b)

When fitting and removing the parts, proceed as shown on Fig. 2, 3 and 4. Use standard fixing elements and buttons for fitting, consequently, the fitting and removing procedure is intuitive.

INSTALLATION OF THE CHARGING DOCK WITH THE DIRT EXTRACTION UNIT

  1. Place the charging dock with the dirt extraction unit on the floor, at a distance of approx. 6 cm from the wall. Make sure there is enough space around the vacuum cleaner (min 0.5 cm on the sides and min 1.5 m in front). Avoid exposure of the charging dock with the dust extraction unit to sun.
  2. Connect supply cable F to the charging dock, and then to the mains. The D1 indicator light comes on. Orange light D1 lights up. If there is no dust bag in the charging station, or it is incorrectly positioned, the D1 light starts flashing red.
    Installation

Remarks

  • If the battery has been discharged, place the device into the charging dock manually.
  • After connection to the charging dock, the device will be switched on automatically.
  • During charging and connection to the charging dock, the device cannot be switched off.
  • The cleaning operation must always be started with the robot vacuum cleaner in the charging dock.

VACCUM CLEANER USE

The vacuum cleaner can be controlled in simplified mode only using buttons A6 and A7 or the remote control. In order to use all device´s functions, you will have to install and use smart app ETA Smart, allowing extension of vacuum cleaner functionality and increased user comfort.

BASIC INSTRUCTIONS

Main switch (A6)
Long press (approx. 3 seconds):
Switching on/off the robot vacuum to stand-by mode.

Long press (approx. 15 sec.):
Forced shutdown for abnormal behavior.

Short press:
Switching on automatic cleaning function or interruption of any active function.

Back to Charging Dock button (A7)
Long press (approx. 3 sek.):
Activates local cleaning (vacuums 2x small space).

Short press: Short press will switch on automatic search of the charging dock with following charging process, or interruption of any active function.

Note
Press parallelly A6 and A7 for 3 seconds to enter into wifi network connection mode. Pressing these buttons will also undo current connection setting to wifi router (i.e. current pairing).

Sleeping mode
If the device is in stand-by mode (or after error message) and not any action has been carried out during 10 minutes, it will be switched in sleeping mode (signaling is muted). For activation, press any button or use the app. During charging, the device cannot be  activated.

Discontinuing/Continuing of the cleaning operation
The vacuum cleaner will continue cleaning, if disconnected cleaning operation will be reactivated. Cleaning will also continue after successful completion of the charging process, if the operation has been automatically discontinued due to low battery charge.

System reset
Remove the dust bin B (eventually the mop attachment C ) and press the RESET button A12 with a suitable tool.

WARNING

  • Please note that pressing the RESET button A12 will lose all the settings you have set using the “ETA SMART” app.
  • Voice notifications are factory set to Czech. You can only change to English in the app.
  • Activation of the UV light (together with vacuuming) can only be activated in the application.

BATTERY CHARGING

  1. Check correct connection of the charging dock to mains power (lamp D1 must light on).
  2. Place the device near the charging dock (approx. 0.5 m) and press A7 or the relevant function in the app. If the battery is too low, place it directly onto the charging dock.

Remarks

  • Standard charging time is approx.4-5 hours. Operation time of the robot vacuum cleaner with fully charged battery ranges 130 to 230 minutes, depending on set functions, power and the area to be cleaned. The stated operating times are based on ETA‘s internal testing and only apply to a new and fully charged battery. Depending on the age and wear of the battery, the operating time decreases.
  • The battery status information can be easily found in the “ETA SMART” app. This app can also be used for sending the vacuum cleaner to the charging dock at any moment.
  • If the device did not returned to the charging dock (e.g. due to obstacles) and the battery level becomes critical, it will be switched off automatically

CLEANING MODES AND VACUUM CLEANER FUNCTIONS

The vacuum cleaner has a total of 5 cleaning modes. Only automatic cleaning mode and local cleaning are available by controlling without using the app.

Manual operation
You can operate the device manually using E2 direction buttons and clean only the areas where cleaning is necessary.

Smart automatic cleaning
Press the A6 button on the control panel or the E1 button on the remote control. During cleaning, the vacuum cleaner moves gradually and systematically in the space according to the programmed route. It divides the space into individual segments. As soon as the vacuum cleaner cleans the entire available space, it automatically searches for the charging station. This is the most used method of cleaning.

Local cleaning
Press and hold A7 on the control panel or E6 on the remote control for approx. 3 seconds. When cleaning, the vacuum cleaner moves in the space according to the programmed route (square 1.5 x 1.5 m). When cleaning has been completed, the device will return to the charging dock automatically. When cleaning is complete, the vacuum cleaner stops and goes into standby mode. This cleaning mode is suitable for cleaning a small soiled area.
Local cleaning

Return to the charging dock
The device can automatically return back to the charging dock, when cleaning has been completed. You can also sent it to the charging dock by pressing A7/E8, or using return function in the app.

Return to the charging dock:
a) by pressing A7/E8 button or using the app
b) cleaning has been completed
c) battery is low (after recharging, the cleaning process will continue)

Automatic extraction of dirt in the extraction unit
After completion of cleaning and return to the charging dock with extraction unit, the dirt accumulated in container B of the robot vacuum will be automatically extracted. Also, check filling status of the dust bag D9 and replace it regularly. The mop attachment C (if installed) must be removed for successful suction!

OTHER REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS

Suction power level setting
You can switch over various suction power levels by pressing E3. Four levels are on choice (+ shut off suction).

Switching over dampening intensity levels
Use E7 button to switch over various dampening intensity levels.
Three levels are on choice. This function is only available with the mop unit C (see below).

Switching on/off light signalisation
Use E5 button to switch on/off light signalisation.

Switching on/off voice messages
Use E4 button to switch on/off voice messages.

Switching on/off UV disinfection
UV disinfection can be switched on/off using button E9.

USING THE MOPING ATTACHMENT (FIG. 3)

  1. Remove the dust bin B and fill the tank with clean water through the hole B6 and close it properly with the plug B7.
  2. Put dust bin B back into the vacuum cleaner.
  3. Then, according to Fig. 3, slide the mopping attachment C itself with the attached mop onto the dust bin B from the bottom of the robot (you will hear a click). Wet the mop and wring it out before use.
  4. Switch on the vacuum cleaner by pressing the A6/E1 button, or in the application to the desired cleaning mode.
  5. After cleaning, empty the tank and let it dry properly – do not charge the robot with water in the tank.

Remarks

  • Do not use/pour any detergent in the mop water tank.
  • The pumping function will be activated by inserting the mop adapter C. Don´t use the vacuum cleaner with adapter C without water in the container B8!
  • Monitor the device during cleaning operation. Constantly monitor mopping operation.
  • When mopping, we recommend cleaning the individual rooms.
  • When mopping, check the vacuum cleaner and add water to the moping attachment, if necessary, or rinse the mop.
  • Do not use the mop attachment on carpets and prevent the vacuum cleaner from hitting the carpet (alternatively, you can use prohibited zone function in the app which can be set for floors with carpets).
  • Remove and clean the mop attachment after use. Do not leave it installed on the vacuum cleaner while charging or when not in use.
  • After closing the tank with the plug, small water volume can leak through bottom holes. After filling and closing, turn the adapter upside down and carry in this position.

VACUUM CLEANER MAINTENANCE

Carry out maintenance and cleaning regularly, depending on the frequency of use and the amount of cleaning. In a more polluted environment (a pet household), more frequent maintenance will be required. Failure to carry out maintenance may damage the vacuum cleaner and its components!

Carefully wipe vacuum cleaner body incl. laser module with dry cloth. Remove dirt (if any) in the laser module area (the dirt could deactivate the rotation mechanism and result in deterioration of the surface mapping function and behaviour of the device.)

CAUTION
When turning the device, don´t put it on the laser module. Risk of damage!

CHARGING CONTACTS CLEANING

Switch off the vacuum cleaner and disconnect the charging station from the power supply! Clean the charging contacts (A3, D2) on the vacuum cleaner and on the station with a soft dry cloth. Clean at least once a month. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or oils to clean the contacts.

CLEANING THE DUST BIN

  1. According to Fig. 2, remove the dirt container B from the vacuum cleaner. Open its  lid and pour out the dirt and dispose of it together with normal municipal waste – ifnecessary, use the dirt extraction function from the reservoir with the suction station. If you empty the container manually, turn it with the outlet opening facing up.

  2. Pour out excess water from container B8. Wipe the dust bin B with a damp cloth.

  3. Open lid B5 , remove the HEPA filter and gently blow or knock it out. Alternatively, use the cleaning tool G for cleaning. Wash the filters B2 and B4 in clean water and let them dry properly
    NOTICE

    • Dry cleaning is recommended to maintain HEPA filter parameters.
    • If you choose to wash the HEPA filter with water, its filtering ability will be reduced.
    • The maximum number of filter washes is 3x. Then it is necessary to buy a new one.
    • It is recommended to change the HEPA filter at least twice a year.
    • The filters are not intended for use in a dishwasher.
    • Cleaning failure and possibly filters replacing can lead to malfunction of the vacuum cleaner!
  4. After performing the maintenance, reassemble the container including the filters and insert it into the vacuum cleaner.

CLEANING THE MAIN BRUSH FIG. 4

  1. Press both cover latches towards the brush and remove the placed cover A11.
    Then remove the main brush A10 from the vacuum cleaner.

  2. Clean the main brush with cleaning tool G (or other suitable). You can also use scissors to remove tangled hair.
    Wipe the main brush cover and the main brush area with a soft, dry cloth.

  3. You can also slide out the A15 bearing from the A10a brush and remove any lint/hair that got into this space.

  4. In the opposite way, place all the removed elements back into the vacuum cleaner.

CLEANING THE SIDE BRUSHES
Remove the brushes by simply sliding them out, clean them and remove tangled hair from them).

CLEANING THE WHEELS
Clean the front, left and right wheels with the G tool.

WARNING
Hair and other dirt can get tangled on the axles of the wheels. Check and clean the wheels regularly.

CLEANING OF SENSORS A2/A17
After each cleaning is completed, clean the sensors with the G tool (or other suitable).

CLEANING THE MOPING ATTACHMENT
After each use, remove the attachment from the vacuum cleaner (see Fig. 3). Mopping attachment C and rinse the C3 mops under running water.

CLEANING THE FRONT BUMPER A1
The front bumper contains obstacle sensors, so wipe it regularly with a damp cloth. Also check if the front bumper can be moved slightly its entire circumference towards the robot body and check that there is no obstacle stuck between the bumper and the robot.

CLEANING THE CHARGING STATION WITH SUCTION UNIT

  1. Unfold cover D5 and remove dust bag D9. Dispose of it together with municipal waste. Then insert a new empty dust bag into the unit.
  2. Pull out the protective filter D6. Rinse the filter under running water. Then let it dry thoroughly and put it back in its place.
  3. Also clean the D3 area carefully with a dry cloth.

Note
Dirt and dust can accumulate around hole D4. Clean this area with a damp cloth or brush.

More extensive maintenance or maintenance requiring intervention in the inner parts of the appliance must be carried out by a professional service!

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Battery removing
Remove the 2 battery compartment cover screws at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner. Remove the battery and unplug the connector. When disconnecting the connector, first press the releasing element on the side of the connector, then disconnect. After that add a new battery. Tape the connector back.
