In order to protect children from the dangers of electrical appliances, never leave them unsupervised with the waffle maker. Place it on a dry, stable, heat-resistant table or counter- top with the cable not hanging down, to avoid accidents.
Before cleaning and when not in use, unplug it from the power outlet.
This waffle maker is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Call our toll- free customer service number for immediate assistance on 1-855-926-2626.
Make sure that the power cord and plug do not come into contact with water.
Never use the waffle maker outdoors or for other than its intended use.
Make sure your hands are dry when touching the waffle maker, power cord or plug.
This waffle maker should not be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are super- vised by a person who is responsible for their safety.
This waffle maker generates heat during use. Proper precau- tions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires or other damage to property caused by touching the unit while in use or during cooldown.
When this symbol is used, it means “Caution: Hot surface”.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INFORMATION
NOTE: This appliance is rated 1000 watts and should be the only appliance operating on the circuit. The plug must be plugged into an outlet which is properly installed.
WARNING: A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, it should be positioned such that it does not drape over the counter or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over and:
The marked rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of this appliance. The electrical rating is listed on the bottom of this unit.

PARTS & FERTURES

USING YOUR WAFFLE MAKER

  1. Carefully unpack your waffle maker, and remove all packaging
  2. Place the waffle maker on a flat, level, heat-resistant surface close to a 120-volt wall outlet. Open the lid. materials.
  3. Wipe the cooking plates with a damp cloth.
  4. Wipe the housing with a soft, damp cloth. Never immerse the power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.
  5. Close the waffle maker.
  6. Plug itinto the wall outlet and preheat for 10 minutes. You may notice some smoke during this initial phase; this is normal.

Season the cooking plates with vegetable oil and rub off excess oil with a paper towel. You only need to do this before first use.

The red light will turn on indicating that the appliance is powered on and preheating. In approximately 3 to 6 minutes the green light will illuminate to let you know the waffle maker is ready for use, but turns off shortly thereafter. When it illuminates for the second time, your waffle is ready.

Making Waffles

  1. Preheat waffle maker as described above.

  2. Open the waffle maker by lifting the cool-touch handle, and pour about 3/4 cup (177 ml) of batter into the center of the lower waffle mold. Make sure not to overfill the mold with batter.

  3. Close the waffle maker using the cool-touch handle.
    Important: This waffle maker gets hot. When in use or until it has cooled completely, do not touch any of the surfaces. Only use the cool-touch handle to open and close the waffle maker.

  4. Wait 10 seconds. Flip the waffle maker 180 degrees so that the batter spreads evenly. This will make the waffles crispy on the outside and soft inside.
    Note: There may be some condensation visible on the outside of the waffle maker; this is normal.

  5. Allow the waffle to cook until the second green ready light illuminates (about 3 to 4 minutes). For a crisper waffle, cook ita little longer.
    Note: Avoid opening the waffle maker during cooking, as it may cause the waffle to stick or cook unevenly.

  6. When waffle is ready, open the waffle maker and remove it using a nylon or wooden spatula or tongs.
    Note: Do not use metal utensils to remove waffles, as they may damage the nonstick surface.
    Important: Do not open the waffle maker before the ready light is illuminated. If waffle is not fully cooked, it may split and be difficult to remove.

  7. Close the waffle maker and allow it to reheat before cooking another waffle. The green ready light illuminates when the waffle maker is ready for use.
    Note: If you seasoned the waffle maker with oil you may want to discard the first waffle as it may be too oily.

  8. When done, unplug the waffle maker. Allow it to cool completely.

HELPFUL HINTS

  1. Fully cooked waffles freeze well. When cooled to room temperature, simply wrap individually in plastic wrap or place in freezer bag and close airtight. They can be kept frozen for several months.
  2. Packaged pancake mix, including the whole wheat variety, make delicious waffles. Follow the package directions for waffles.
  3. Don’t use water to clean the nonstick waffle plates, simply allow them to cool and brush off any crumbs that may be left in the grooves.
  4. For lighter waffles, separate the eggs and beat the egg whites to soft peaks and fold in just before cooking the waffles. For extra crispy waffles, add 2 to 3 tbsp of melted butter or oil to the batter.
  5. Waffles can be kept warm by placing them on a rack or a cookie sheet in a preheated oven set to 300°F. Never stack cooked waffles; this makes them soggy.
  6. To reheat waffles, use your preheated toaster oven and setitto 350°F, for about 5 minutes.
  7. Using a waffle mix? Add some variety! Just before cooking, stir in mashed banana or chopped walnuts, macadamia nuts, toasted almonds or pecans, raisins or diced fruit, such as apples, peaches, plums or berries.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and allow the waffle maker to cool completely. In order to prevent food residue build-up, clean your waffle maker after each use.
Wipe the inside of your waffle maker with a clean, soapy sponge or cloth. Remove soapy residue with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
To remove stubborn stains use a nylon brush or other utensil safe for nonstick surfaces. Do not use steel wool or scouring pads. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth.
Important: Never immerse the waffle maker in water or other liquids or place in a dishwasher. Do not run water directly onto the nonstick waffle plates.

This product should not be disposed of together with regular domestic waste; it should be taken to an authorized recycler of electrical appliances. By disposing of and recycling domestic waste, you help protect the planet and the people living on it. If you wish to dispose of this item, please do so properly.
