USING YOUR ELECTRIC KETTLE

Before first use, please follow these instructions:

  1. Remove all packaging materials.
  2. Open the lid of the kettle by sliding down the button on the handle. You will hear a click.
  3. Fill your kettle to the “MAX” level. Boil. Discard the water. Repeat this process twice. Since tap water can cause mineral deposits, we recommend filling your kettle with filtered water.
TO USE YOUR KETTLE
  1. Fill your kettle to the “MAX” level.

  2. the lid closed firmly until it locks into position.
Note: The kettle will not switch on if the on/off switch is obstructed or the lid is open.

  3. Plug in the power base and place the kettle onto it. Then switch the kettle on by pushing down the on/off switch to the “I” position (the indicator light will illuminate when the kettle is working).

  4. Once your kettle reaches boiling point, it will switch off automatically. To re-boil, simply wait a few seconds then reset the on/off switch.

  5. To avoid the risk of scalding, pour slowly and do not over-tilt the kettle.

  6. Empty the kettle after each use.

  7. Your kettle is fitted with a scale filter to hold back the limescale particles. If limescale does start to build up please refer to the descaling instructions on.

BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
A safety shut-off device will automatically activate should the kettle be accidentally switched on without any water, or without sufficient water to cover the element, or if it boils dry. Should the shut-off device be activated, allow your kettle to cool down for a few minutes before refilling, to permit this device to reset.

CAUTION
When using your kettle, note that it will get hot when the water is boiled. Please use the handle to hold the kettle. After the kettle has switched off automatically (or has been switched off manually) it may need time to cool down. After 30 seconds, the kettle can be switched on again.
It the kettle ever boils dry, allow 15 minutes to cool before refilling with cold water.

CLEANING YOUR ELECTRIC KETTLE

  • Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe the exterior of the kettle and its base with a damp cloth and then dry them with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use coarse or abrasive cleaning materials to prevent bruising the kettle’s finish.
  • Wipe the kettle’s interior and the spout filter with a damp cloth before rinsing it with water.
  • Note: The water might sometimes contain chalk, and the water in the kettle might look turbid. Once the water boils, these deposits will float on the surface and might cause limescale to build up, especially on the filter. To prevent mineral build-up, clean your kettle regularly, and empty it after each use. Please refer to the descaling instructions on Page 9.

Descaling your electric kettle

Residue, odor and spotting found inside your kettle are most likely caused by limescale which is natural deposits (calcium, magnesium, iron and copper) that may build up depending on the water in your area.

While you do not need to worry about hygienic or health-related issues, we do strongly recommend descaling your kettle from time to time to avoid limescale build-up and other issues.

What you need:
Water and vinegar or lemon juice

Steps:

  1. Mix a solution that is 3/4 parts water to 1/4 part vinegar or lemon juice.
  2. Pour the solution into the kettle and close the lid.
  3. Bring the solution to a boil and leave for 5-8 hours.
  4. Discard solution.
  5. If the problem persists, repeat from Step 1 until limescale dissipates.
  6. Caution: the solution may be extremely hot during this process.
