Product Usage Instructions

Assembling Your Proaim Portable Dolly

I N T RO D U C T I O N

Camera Cranes are quite important tools in the world of filmmaking especially when you want to add visual interest to your shots. To achieve this, Proaim introduced Alphabet 21ft Jib Crane Package that is highly stable and gets easily integrated into your shooting style. Along with this, we also kept it lightweight, compact and quick to assemble so that you can use it in various shooting scenarios.

IN THE BOX

Please inspect the contents of your shipped package to ensure you have received all that is pictured and listed below.

ASSEMBLING YOUR PROAIM PORTABLE DOLLY

  • Take out the bolt from the center of the dolly and spread it on the floor. Then put the bolt back through the center of the dolly again.

  • Now, place the tripod foot on the dolly and tie it down with the help of elastic clips as shown in the picture.

  • Press the clamps to lock the wheels at a static position.

ASSEMBLING JIB SECTIONS

  • Install the Hub (Section 2 of Jib) into a bowl of your 100 mm tripod stand and tighten the hub with the center locking knob.

  • Loosen the provided knob at the end of section 2 to slide the bars of section 3 into the end of section 2 .

  • Then tighten both the sections together using the provided knobs.

Section 2a with 2, 2b with 2a, 2c with 2b & 1 with 2c :

For attaching these sections follow the same steps as mentioned above.

  • Attach cable guide to cable guide clamp on 2nd section properly. Loosen the knob, ahead of the cable guide clamp in order to attach cable guide support rod to it.

  • Retighten the knob to secure properly.

  • Now attach one end of the 14.5ft blue cable to the blue hook on the back side of the jib (section 3 ) and the other end of the blue cable to the blue hook on the front section of the jib (section 1).

  • Attach cable guide to cable guide clamp on 2nd section properly. Loosen the knob, ahead of the cable guide clamp in order to attach cable guide support rod to it.

  • Retighten the knob to secure properly.

  • Now attach one end of the 14.5ft blue cable to the blue hook on the back side of the jib (section 3 ) and the other end of the blue cable to the blue hook on the front section of the jib (section 1).

  • Similarly, attach the second blue cable and align both the blue cables to the side of the support rod.

  • Now attach one end of the 14.3ft red cable to the red hook on the back side of the jib (section 3 ) and align the red cable to the cable guide from the top.

  • Then, attach the other end of the red cable to the red hook on the front section of jib (section 1).

  • The wires have a screw-in wire adjustment system in order to adjust the wire tension to level the jib.

  • The jib arm can be locked (tilting) with the help of this knob.

  • Insert the weight rod & weights ( not supplied ) to both ends and secure with the help of closers.

  • The central fork has a free hole to attach the LCD mount bracket (not included) .

  • The camera plate can be tilted upwards & downwards with the help of the provided handle.

  • The camera can be mounted directly on the head platform with the help of provided checkout.

Please use the following sequence of pictures and text in the order they appear to set up your new Sr. Pan and Tilt Head. Technical assistance is available by contacting your sales representative.

  • Attach the PROAIM™ Sr. PAN-TILT HEAD base platform to the tripod or jib arm using the four ¼” screws. Tighten to secure.

CABLES & CONTROL BOX

  • Install the 12-volt DC power (4-pin XLR) in the rear of the joystick box.

Note : Any 12-volt battery may operate the PROAIM™ Sr. PAN TILT HEAD as long as the connector mates and is #1 pin Negative and #4 pin Positive.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE AN UNREGULATED POWER SUPPLY! IF USING A REGULATED POWER SUP-PLY IT MUST PRODUCE LESS THAN 12 VOLTS. MORE THAN 24 VOLTS MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE.
JOYSTICK

  • The joystick may be operated handheld, from a flat surface like a tabletop, or attached to the boom arm of the jib.

HEAD CABLE

PROAIM™ Sr. PAN TILT HEAD Digital only

  • Attach the 4-pin power cord to the rear of joystick box.
  • Attach the four-pin male connector of the cable to the four pin female connector of the head for panning & tilting.
  • If the joystick control is the opposite, undo the connectors at the motors, rotate 180 degrees and re-install.

WARRANTY

We offer a one-year warranty for our products from the date of purchase. We will repair or replace your product, free of charge, in the event of a defect in materials or craftsmanship obtained during normal use or handling based on the user manual. Please note that we will not cover any shipping costs for returning the product to us. If any VAT or import duties are applied to the return, we will also charge these costs to the customer.
The warranty does not include, by way of example, damage caused by products that we do not supply or from mishandling in transit, accident, misuse, neglect, or lack of care of the product, or service by anyone other than our company. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of the unit or occurring due to any breach of this warranty. Replacement parts of the product will be provided at a nominal cost (covering the cost price of the replacement parts only) to the customers after the Warranty Period has expired. We will cover the complete cost of sending replacement parts within the warranty period. After that, the Nominal cost of the product & Actual shipping cost will be charged.
