ATTENTION
Read this manual carefully before proceeding. All local, national and European
regulations regarding the installation and use of the device must be met. This
device is solely for indoor use and must only be used for its intended
purpose. Do not attempt to repair it in any way whatsoever. This appliance is
not designed to be used by persons (including children) with a physical,
sensory or mental impairment, or persons lacking in experience or know-how,
unless they are supervised or trained on how to use the appliance by a person
who is responsible for their safety. Supervise children to ensure that they do
not play with the device. Some parts, such as the battery, can easily be
swallowed. Seek medical attention immediately if this occurs.
Protect the device from precipitation, humidity, liquids and all substances
that could corrode the electronic circuits inside the device. If it should get
wet, remove the battery and leave it open to dry at room temperature for as
long as necessary. Do not use it or store it in dusty and/or dirty
environments. Do not store it in very hot areas as high temperatures can
shorten the life of the device, damage the battery and deform or even melt
certain plastics. Do not store it in very cold areas as when it reheats
moisture could form inside it and damage the electronic circuits. Do not drop
it, do not expose it to blows or knocks, and do not shake it. Carelessness
such as this may result in breakage of the device. Do not use corrosive
chemical substances, caustic solutions or detergents to clean the device.
The battery is covered by a 6-month warranty from the date of purchase. The
warranty is voided if the defect is caused by improper use and/or use that is
not in accordance with the instructions set out in this manual.
At the end of their useful life the device and the battery must be disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations, and not with municipal waste. The product must be consigned to designated sorted waste collection centres. Correct disposal not only helps safeguard the environment but it also promotes recovery and recycling of the materials.
INSTALLATION
The thermostat must be positioned away from heat sources, windows, doors and anything that could alter the perceived temperature such as draughts, heat pumps or air conditioners. We recommend installing it at height of about 1.5 metres from the floor and ensure that it has an area of 50/60 cm of free- flowing air around it so that it can sense the true temperature of the room. Moreover, the device must be installed at a maximum distance of 7/8 metres from the heat generator and there must be no obstacles, such as walls, furniture or doors, that could alter communication. To fix the device to the wall simply press the tab located on the rear wall mount and pull downthe fixing plate to remove it (see figure on the right). Then secure the fixing plate to the wall with the plugs provided and attach the device. If you prefer not to make holes in the walls, the device can be attached to the wall using the supplied hook and loop tape.

USE AND CONNECTION TO THE GENERATOR
In order to use the device, it is necessary to insert the supplied battery. To install it, it is necessary to separate the two half-shells of the device applying a slight pressure outward (Figure 1) and then insert the battery in the appropriate seat with the side + upwards (Figure 2), as soon as the battery is inserted the led (A) will light up for a few seconds, wait for the led (A) to turn off, close the two half-shells and follow the following procedure:
-
Press button B on the Room Control to start the device; LED A will light up for a few seconds.
-
Press the Menu Button on the generator’s control panel several times until the ROOM CONTROL screen appears. This is the screen:
-
Press one of the Scroll Buttons (up arrow or down arrow) to enable it. The following screen appears:
-
Press button B on the Room Control once again
-
Press the Flame Button for the following screen to appear:
The Room Control is now connected to the generator -
At this point you can select one of the two modes available, Eco mode or Switch mode, which are described below. To select a mode simply press one of the Scroll Buttons (up arrow or down arrow).
Once you have selected the preferred mode, confirm by pressing the Menu Button. Then, see § 11
ECO MODE FUNCTION (modulation only)
In the Eco Mode function the device automatically adjusts the ventilation and
combustion power of the generator according to the temperature set by the
customer in the generator’s display. You can change the set temperature at any
time by simply pressing the
Scroll Buttons (up arrow or down arrow),
The generator will set itself at the maximum power for both combustion and
ventilation, and modulate both levels as the room temperature approaches the
set temperature. Once the set temperature is reached both the combustion power
and the ventilation power will return to the minimum setting.
Temperature set on the display: 22°C Hysteresis: 2°C Combustion power:
automatic
When using this program, the infrared remote control supplied cannot be used.
Attention: The power and the ventilation depend on the set temperature: if the
set temperature is too high or not reachable the appliance may operate at the
maximum power for long periods of time.
Attention : The Eco Mode function does not switch the appliance on or
off. Starts and stops must always be made from the control panel with the
Flame Button or by programming. Remember that transmission of the signal to
the generator can be affected by the surrounding environment: thick walls can
reduce the transmission which normally extends as far as 7-8 metres.
SWITCH MODE FUNCTION (modulation with starts and stops)
In the Switch Mode function, the device reaches the set room temperature at
the desired power and, once exceeded, gradually lowers the ventilation and
combustion power of the generator. Once the room temperature has been exceeded
by over 2°C the device switches off the generator. When the room temperature
drops below the set room temperature by more than 2°C the generator will
automatically start up again.
You can change the desired room temperature at any time by pressing the Down
arrow and/or Up arrow. When using this program, the infrared remote control
supplied cannot be used. IMPORTANT: read § 11!
Temperature set on the display: 22°C Hysteresis: 2°C Power set on the
display: 5
Here is an example: In this case the user selected the maximum
combustion power (5th) and the room temperature of 22°C. With this
configuration the generator will go to 22°C at the selected power (5th) then
begin modulating. If, despite the modulation, the room temperature rises above
24°C the generator will power off. Then it will start up at the previously
selected power (in this case 5th) but only when the room temperature drops
below 20°C.
ATTENTION: This graph is purely indicative as the course of room
temperatures can vary even greatly depending on the insulation of thebuilding
(energy efficiency class of the building) and on the position of the appliance
in the layout of the building. Consequently, it may occur that the generator
does not manage to reach the automatic switch off or automatic restart for
these reasons. This does not indicate a defect in the product. The
manufacturer denies all responsibility for the life of the electrical heater
if subjected to excessive start-ups. A maximum of 3 on-off cycles are
permitted per day.
ONCTION « COMFORT MODE » (switching on and off, and weekly programming)
The Natural function can be selected. The combustion power and the fan speed
are independent and it must be selected by the user.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the device stops transmitting the signal, three dashes will appear on the
generator’s display (see left-hand figure below); this indicates that the
battery needs to be replaced. To replace the battery, separate the two half
casings of the device by applying slight outward pressure, and replace the
battery. Then press button B on the Room Control again to start the device;
LED A will light up for a few moments. If the room temperature is not
instantly displayed above the ventilation symbol, repeat the connection
procedure described in § 5. Ensure that the polarity is correct and that the
contacts of the device and of the battery are clean, and if necessary clean
them. The dead battery must be disposed of safely (see § 2)
FIRST ACTIVATION/CHANGE OF MODE
At the end of the first activation (or battery replacement, or changing the
operating mode), if the “Switch mode” or “Comfort Mode” functions are
selected, always remember:
- The first ignition is manual, pressing the FLAME key on the control panel;
- then press button B on the Room Control module again (LED A will light up briefly), to reconnect it to the heater and update the temperature reading.
