LifeBasis CDS-400 Life Basis Professional Ultrasonic Cleaner
INTRODUCTION
Use tap water. Chemical solutions are unnecessary in most cases.
Principles of ultrasonic cleaning:
Millions of tiny air bubbles are generated inside the liquid by high frequency vibration. The air bubbles bust inside the liquid and shake off the debris to achieve the cleaning effect.
- Purified water or distilled water has the same cleaning effect as regular tap water /!\ for ultrasonic cleaning. Therefore using tap water is sufficient.
- When cleaning silver or copper items where oxidation has darkened the items, special solutions need to be added to the water to remove the oxidation.

Items Not Suitable for Ultrasonic Cleaning
SAMPLE APPLICATIONS
PRINCIPLES OF ULTRASONIC CLEANING
- Millions of tiny invisible air bubbles are generated within liquid by high frequency vibration.
- The air bubbles burst when in contact with object and dislodge the debris to achieve the cleaning effect.
PRODUCT STRUCTURE AND ACCESSORIES
- ON/OFF KEY
- TIME DISPLAY
- SET TIMER KEY
- VIEW WINDOW
- BLUE LED
- ROTATING COVER
- STAINLESS STEEL TANK
- HOUSING
- POWER SOCKET
- VENT
- POWER CORD
- PLASTIC BASKET
- 500ml glass beaker with silicon locating ring and plastic cover.
- 500ml glass beaker with silicon locating ring and a lift-able strainer.
- Perforated stainless steel beaker with silicon locating ring.
USE OF OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
500ml glass beaker with silicon locating ring and plastic cover
- Removable beaker
- Removable beaker makes it easy for disinfection.
- No need to disinfect the whole ultrasonic cleaner tank.
- This ultrasonic cleaner is equipped with a 035 mm industrial-grade stack transducer which has strong penetration power. Ultrasonic energy will penetrate the beaker and remove blood and fragments from dental instruments such as burs and files quickly (in 3-6 seconds). This reduces the number of the instrument tips needed.
500ml glass beaker with silicon locating ring and a lift-able strainer
- Beaker with lift-able strainer
- One beaker with cleaning solution and another one with clean water. For jewelry stores, this avoids the need to empty the solution before cleaning it with tap water in the same tank. Using two beakers in turn can effectively reduce the amount of the solutions used. Using lift-able strainer also reduces the operator’s contact to chemicals and makes it easy to drain water.
Perforated stainless steel beaker with silicon locating ring
- The perforated beaker has very fine holes (00.3mm) and is suitable for batch cleaning of loose diamonds, gemstones, etc.
- For batch cleaning of burs and files, easy to drain water.
Plastic Basket
- Use the basket to clean small and delicate items. Ensure items not touching each other if cleaning multiple and delicate items.
Note: Plastic basket absorbs about 30% to 40% of ultrasonic energy hence reduces cleaning effectiveness.
APPLICATIONS AND TIMER SETTINGS
Note: Long time cleaning can cause certain items to loosen up such as screws on eyeglasses.
OPERATION GUIDELINES
- Remove the lid, place the object to be cleaned inside the basket then in the stainless steel tank.
- Note: Put small and delicate items with sharp edges into plastic basket for cleaning to avoid scratches. Basket will absorb about 30%~40% of ultrasonic energy hence reduce cleaning effectiveness.
- Fill the tank with tap water.
- Liquid must cover the object to be cleaned, but not exceed “MAX” line.
- Close the lid, plug in the power cord.
- 180 appears in the display window.
- This is the default time and is good for normal cleaning.
Applicable to CNS-400R
For jewelry stores
- Swing open the round cover, place the beaker through the lid (500 n water with 3-5 ml cleaning solution concentrate)
- To remove tarnish from sliver jewelry, use 400ml water and 100n silver solution concentrate or as directed by the solution supplie
- Adjust the position of the silicon locating ring so as to keep the bottom of the beaker about 1.5-2.0 cm above the bottom of the tan!
- Avoid the contact of the beaker to the bottom of the tank otherwise loud noise will occur.
- Load jewelry on to the lift-able strainer.
- Load the strainer into the beaker as illustrated.
- For dental operations
- Swing open the round cover and place a disinfected beaker as shown. Add 500 ml saline water into the beaker. Adjust the position of the silicon locating ring so as to keep the bottom of the beaker about 1.5-2.0 cm above the bottom of the tank. Avoid the contact of the beaker to the bottom of the tank otherwise loud noise will occur.
- Touch TIMER key to select different time.
- The display will show the following timer settings in sequence: 180-300- 480-600-90 (in seconds).
- Touch ON/OFF key to start cleaning. The blue LED light lights up and the digital timer starts to count down to zero.
- When “000” is displayed, the cleaning cycle ends. The blue LED light turns off.
- If you need to end the process ahead of the time, touch ON/OFF key. If \more cleaning time is needed, touch TIMER key to set the timer and ON/ OFF key to start the process again.
Important: Long cycle time will cause heat to build up inside the unit and water temperature to rise. Do not use the unit for more than 20 minutes continuously. Take a 10-minute break in between to prolong the life of the unit.
Applicable to CDS-400B
- For jewelry stores
- Once the cleaning is done with the first beaker, lift the strainer with jewelry and place it into the second beaker filled with 500 ml cleaner water. Place the second beaker through the lid and into the cleaning tank. Adjust the position of the silicon locating ring so as to keep the bottom of the brake about 1.5-2.0 cm above the bottom of the tank.
- Set the timer to 90 seconds. Touch On/Off key.
- Lift beaker with the strainer. Place the first beaker with cleaning solution back to the tank to be ready for the next batch.
- Lift the strainer to retrieve the jewelry.
- If silver jewelry was cleaned to remove tarnish, clean water must be used to remove the chemical residues, otherwise tarnish may reoccur quicker than normal.
- For dental operations
- Burs and files will lose sharpness once they are covered with blood and fragments. They can be cleaned in 3-6 seconds inside the beaker while ultrasound penetrates the beaker to do the cleaning inside. This will remove the blood and fragments, keep the instruments sharp and reduce the need for new ones.
- Removable beaker makes it easy for disinfection.
- One beaker can only be used for one patient.
- When cleaning is done, turn the power switch off ‚open the cover, remove the items. Unplug the power cord, empty the tank by pouring out the water in the direction shown with an arrow on the unit. Avoid pouring it over the front where the control panel is located. Wipe the tank clean and remove the power plug.
- Note: Empty the tank at the end of the day. Wipe the tank dean with a paper towel.
- Store the unit in a cool and dry place.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
- Do not turn on the unit without water in the tank.
- Even though the unit is designed with multiple protections, if it is turned on for over 30 seconds without water in the tank, it may damage the unit or severely reduce the life of the unit.
- Do not run the unit for extended time or continuously.
- Do not run the unit continuously for over 20 minutes.
- Stop for about 10 minutes in between to prolong the life of the unit.
- Do not keep water in the cleaning tank.
- After cleaning is completed, unplug the power cord then pour water out through the pouring recess. Avoid getting water inside the housing through the vents and causing damage.
- Do not spray water over the housing.
- Use a towel to wipe the tank and the housing.
- Do not expose the unit under direct sun shine for long.
- Keep the unit in a dry, cool and ventilated area.
